Hi all. Just checking in. 2 days post EC and I am sooooooooooooo bloated and can't releive this. What do I do? It feels like gas I can't release (sorry if tmi). I am eating prunes hoping that will help. My doc said not to worry but i am so uncomfortable.

Bloating after egg collection is common. The ovaries can swell to the size of grapefruits, or even much larger. Did your doctor warn you about ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)?

Mild cases don't go much beyond complaints of bloatedness. Severe cases can require the fluid to be drained (sometimes several times), and even hospitalization. Some clinics give an IV of albumin which might reduce the severity of OHSS.

OHSS is most common in patients who have many follicles (over 20-25) and who receive hCG to trigger ovulation. The hCG produced by pregnancy (several days after transfer) can continue or even worsen the symptoms.

Prunes? Hmmm... If it's OHSS, that may be a bad idea.

Ask your doctor again and again as needed. He should be keeping a close eye on it.

Hello ladies,

Ems: How lucky are to have such understanding employers. I havent even told mine yet that i am going thru treatment - the last time i even mentioned that i might be thinking about it - there was a bad atmosphere (i work in the same office as my boss - a woman!) due to the fact that i hadnt mentioned that i wanted another baby in my interview!!!! She said to me 'Becky the only reason i employed u, was because u told me u wasnt having any more children'
So needless to say, i havent mentioned it - if and WHEN it happens - i will casually tell her 'oh by the way' lol

Your as bad as me with the tears Ems lol, i had mine yesterday morning because i had woken with - what i tht were AF cramps

- im dreading the 2ww, how are u managing with it?

If i had my last AF on 11th August - does this mean that i am due again this Friday (that seems so soon, but is 28 days yeah?)

I keep analyzing (spelling?) every symptom that i get!! If i feel sick, then its cos i must be pg!!! - if i go to the loo a lot (which i am doing, but i know thats cos im swollen and theres pressure on my bladder?) and its strong smelling! im thinking 'oh' this could be it, my breasts are sore (but they were b4 i had ET) If im warm - its must be my temp has gone up cos 'i must be pg'
So all symptoms of being pg were either there b4 because of the drugs - or are the same symptoms as an AF
ARGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY ...

(sorry for that outburst ladies lol) I know im being silly, its only been a few days like:

Oh - Ive put some photos up on the website, one of my wedding with my DH and my daughters (who were our bridesmaids) and one of my wee man - Jack (my springer spaniel lol)
Theres some lovely pics on there, ive spent most of my afternoon noesyin about on it lol. (must get the tea on soon tho)
And on that note (thankfully i hear u all say lol) Im outta here ....

Im really not sure hun - i think u need to ring ur doc just to be on the safe side. But im sure all will be well so try not to panic too much.

Hello every1!

Becky... the way you described hw u feel is exactly the same as me. I would be due on around ow and today i have been feeling like i have been getting AF cramps! I got a bit tearful earlier on thinking how bad it'll b if i find out it hasn't worked.

Me and DH went into town b4 and we walked past the HPT's and he said 'we need to get one' but i wouldn't let him because i don't want to tempt fate!

Its an awful feeling thinking these pains/cramps r AF about to arrive!

Hope every1 is doing ok.

Souris...do u not have enough med to change cartridges now, save that one until the end and then if need be use it for the last little bit? I did have a bit left over so u may 2? I would phone the doc.

Don't panic. I think that leaving meds out that should be refrigerated may lessen the total effectivenss...but not make them ineffective. But I agree with (becky was it?) Call your doc. Have him paged and just be sure. If it is bad, it is better to know now and get the full amount in you for tomorrow.

Let us know what he/she says.

I can't believe the crocodile hunter just died!

Jeeze, He has always got too close for my comfort. Bless his soul, he was a good guy and did so much to make people aware of our enviroment, animals and nature. So sad, his kids are so young too.

zirly, have you tried peppermint tea? The gas is crazy isn't it? I've just about run DH out of the house with mine

souris, sorry I don't know much about that med. I would ask the clinic. maybe it's still ok. was there a lot of doses left in that cartridge? Do you have other cartridges? maybe use a fresh cartridge for now. you may have some left over anyway, then you wouldn't have to use the warmed meds at all. I used a follistim pen and I ended with a couple of doses left that will probably just be thrown away. hope it works out.

Ems, I'm having those heat flushes too. I thought it was just because we live in the dessert. We have AC on at our normal temp, so I figured maybe it has to do with ET and the hormones. I also feel very tired and want to sleep earlier than normal. It's good that you can stay calm. I feel pretty calm too, but I feel like I'm losing it a little more each day. I feel much more moody now than I have during my whole cycle. It must be the estrogen i started on Friday. Our neighbors invited us over for a Labor day not BBQ dinner. I want to be nice, but I feel a bit anti-social right now. I suppose it might help me keep my mind off my coming pg test though.

Becky, Hang in there! It's tough I know, I feel the same too.

Jeck, I LOVE your doggies! They are so sweet. Labs and Boston's are a couple of my favorites. I used to have a blk Lab mix years ago. I got a Min Pin this time around and I was seriously thinking of getting a Boston as my second dog, but we ended up fostering a sweet little, 3 legged, IG/Chi mutt puppy and we (I) couldn't let him go.

My poor beautiful Min Pin is suffering from some type of allergy and her eyes are all itchy and puffy. I brought her to the vet twice and they gave her cotisone shots. she has to wear a cone to keep her from scratching. The vet wants to do allergy testing, but I really don't want to put her through that. I would rather try more gentle and natural methods. I'm not happy with the vet she's at now (it's a long story). I'm thinking of switching.

thanks girls. It was the only cartridge i had so for tonight it has to do, but i will call tomorrow. I still cant believe i put it in the bin! I 'll blame the hormones, I think Dh felt really sorry for me!!

Im ashamed to say - i bought a HPT - its sitting in the bathroom and every time i go in there (which is quite often lol) i read it, i hold it, but i havent opened it lol. Its way too early yet to do one - mind u the one i got says it can detect a pg 4 days b4 ur AF is due (Which is today for me!!) but still - i think im too scared, i dont want to burst that bubble just yet - i want to hold on to 'maybe i am' just a wee bit longer (if that makes sense)

Becky dont you dare do that test its way to early for you it would be a waste of money and knock your PMA you have to be at least 10dpHCG shot and even 10dp3dt at least and even then sometimes it doesnt show up because it depends when they actually attatched... you cant go by your old AF your whole cycle was changed to suit the DRs so your AF isnt due for ooo another 8 months ish.. your allowed to take your test then if you can reach...

Vickie your very good not getting a test big self controll ... not too long now till your official test is it...

Zirly have you tried gatoraid? i have heard it helps a lot i know i will have some for after my EC...

souris i hope your meds are ok i know my DH left mine out last cycle in the heat and we where fine so lets pray yours are the same ...

jackie thanks sweetie im enjoying myself so much i wish id thought to do this last cycle ...i do like the food network too though we always watch Anthony Bordain on mandays i love him ...have a great day off...get you puppy soon too dont you...exciting

hello

well it seems that my follies don't want to play

. Had my scan today and not looking too good so feeling a wee bit down tonight.

They could only see tiny tiny ones on the right approx 2, and about 4 small ones of the left and my lining is still very thin. So they have upped my menopur dosage to the max to 450ml (thats now 3 injections per night)and go back for another scan Wed to see if that has any impact. I've only been stimming since last Tues so not sure if this is normal or they are a little slow in coming forward!

Going to speak nicely to them tonight and give them lots of TLC ....grow follies grow!

Ems - where do you want to live in Oz? We are also planning to go out there but wanted to wait to see what happens with us. My DH has family there so hoping to go to Melbourne - its great out there. Your work place sounds as good as mine. i've managed to get special leave for next week (if it goes ahead) and my manager is fantastic, she is making sure I don't get too stressed over the next few weeks

I'm also having hot flushes but i think it may be to do with my cold rather than anything else

although our summer has seemed to pop back for a few days - lets hope it lasts a week or so,

Becky - can't believe your employer though - she better watch out with comments like that - v naughty!!

Your wedding photo looks lovely - so nice to put a face to a name.

Jeck - your piccies of your dogs are so sweet - makes me sad as we used to have an old english but she passed away a few yrs ago and I was so devasted that my DH will not let me have another one....

Ang - great news on your EC - wishing you lots of baby dust and luck for thursday.

Souris - I'm sure all will be ok with your meds, however not an expert so as the others said check with your Dr. Fingers & toes crossed for you.

Mia - i was really shocked about Steve the croc hunter - was only in bed yesterday watching him on the discovery/animal channel - so so sad.

have a great eve and lots of hugs to you all. I'm now going to slouch on the couch for the rest of the eve!

Nimble - sorry you are feeling down about your follies hun - keep up that PMA and with the extra meds hopefully they will come up nicely. I had some tiny ones which 2 days later were a nice size so don't be too disheartened.
I LOVE Sydney but DH reckons Perth would be a great start as its such a new city and has loads of opportunities for work etc at the moment. We'll have to see what happens but he is an Electrician so we'd score enough points to get over there. It's on the back burner until we know what's happening with the baby thing though...

As for the Lamb - what about a Lamb curry? That's what my mum always used to do with her leftover Sunday roast - yummy!!

Becky - meant to reply to your post - I am feeling pretty calm and positive at the moment. Just try to relax and not dwell on things - easier said than done I know but positive energy is what those little bubbles need...PMA PMA PMA!!!!

Zirly - I agree - try the peppermint tea - I swear by it. I was real uncomfortable after ET but this helped alleviate the gas pains...hang in there.

NO WAY am I buying a PG test until the night before test day or I will be tempted to do it! Amazing really as I am normally THE most impatient person in world....ever! I just think ignorance is bliss and maybe in a way I am just too scared to face the result!!!
