Casey P, I am so sorry to hear that you have been crying all day!!!!, but think that if your doctor told you it is ok to wait until the end of the pregnancy then it must be ok, they don't take chances, even less with all the malpractice issues nowadays, so relax and enjoy your cycle!!!!!!!

Casy, 17 follies is excellent! Don't worry, if you get PG, I'm sure there's no problem getting the procedure done afterwards. I've been told I have cervical abnormalities off and on over the past few years, but nothing serious has ever come of it. Sometimes the abnormalities are normal. :) Basically it means they need to keep an eye on it. If you do have to do an FET, it may be just as well. I feel 100 time better hormonally than I did with my fresh IVF cycle. Less shots, bloating and abdominal discomfort sure make the process easy.

Vicky, I'm affraid it's way to early for you to test. I don't think you can get an accurate reading until possibly a day or 2 before your clinic's test. I'm tempted to do one a couple days before my test. I didn't do an hpt last time, but this time I'd like to know in private with DH there. Last time I had to tell DH over the phone that we had a BFN, while he was driving to work. It's a tough wait I know, but that day will be here before you know it.

Angellica, Sorry you're having such a tough time! I don't think you're being selfish at all, you've got those little ones to think about. They rely on you to take care of yourself. I'll be thinking of you. Hope you cheer up.

Kristen, that's good news! Good luck on Sunday!

I had major problems doing my PIO shot last night. I just can't shoot myself in the left side of my butt. I had to change the needle 3 times because, first I stabbed myself in the finger, then hit a blood vessel and had to pull it back out, the third time my body pushed the needle out as I tried to push the plunger in. It was horrible, I was bleeding all over the place. So I did it in my right cheek for the second day in a row and today I am super sore and swollen. I had to do this on my transfer day, of all days! Today I called my clinic and said there's no way I can do this anymore, would it be OK for DH to do it at midnight when he gets home. The nurse said it was perfectly OK and they would try to get me off PIOs asap. ahhhh, thank goodness!

Just joining you-- wish i had found you all months ago!!

I am 35, ttc 4 yr. IVF/ICSI/PGD Sep '06 only 4 fertilized (out of 9), none to blastocyst  . As we had PGD, know they were all complex abnl. 2nd IVF/ICSI-- ER on 11/1 with 5 mature :? . Was keeping it a secret (having to tell people after 1st IVF failure heartbreaking), but after having complications from ER, had to tell family. But no one around really seems to get what this is like. Initially only had 1 embryo compacting, but overnight a 2nd started growing again and caught up (hope for those in similar situations  )-- so 2 expanded blastocysts on day 6 (making them grade 2). ET was 11/7. PG test 11/17.

Wisconsingal: don't know what it is like to have none fertilize-- but do know the heartbreak of going through everything and no embies. Wishing you the best.

Vicky77: I too am a bit (ok, very) impatient. I have heard people doing an HPT one day early and getting reliable results. Don't know about earlier. If i start feeling the signs, will probably do one each day until the PG test--my own little study.

Casy P: I am sorry to hear about your biopsy results. I am NOT an OB, but i am an MD, and I can tell you that most cervical biopsy abnormalities have a low chance of progressing significantly during pregnancy. If your consultant was, as you said "relaxed" about it, I would imagine you fall into that category. Depending on what the biopsy actually shows, they may want to follow it during pregnancy. I hope you are able to enjoy your weekend!

Sticky baby dust to all :D !

Hey Ladies

Went for my ER today. 25 eggs retrieved. I was really shocked to get so many. I will know tomorrow how many fertilized. I am keeping my fingers crossed. The cramping is intense afterwords. I also started my PG shots and hubby did a good job in the dr. office. My transfer is 11/15. All of you are in my prayers.

ICSI With Zero Fertilization

Post by Charity »

WISCONSINGAL...

We've been communicating via email, and I'm so thankful you found me. I felt so alone. Not the way I would have wanted to meet anyone, but so glad that we have this forum to find other women that understand.

I guess I just wanted to post to let anyone else who's out there, with this same issue, to know that you are not alone. I just finished my first IVF cycle and had the exact same thing happen as WISCONSINGAL. EC, ICSI, zero fertilization.

If there are any others out there with this same issue, please feel free to email me, and I can forward you information I've found and recommendations for future cycles given by my RE. Or if you have already been through this, I would love to hear from you. Especially some success stories. They would be extremely welcome at this stage...:)

And for the rest of you ladies, I wish you all the baby dust your spirit can handle! :) Such a wonderful place with PMA's...Take care, and have a great weekend all...Later Gators!

Hey gals! I've been away for awhile, trying to get my mind off of "babies" and thought I would try to catch up tonight on all of the postings and WOW lots has happened since I was last here. I noticed there are several of you on the 2ww. I wish you the best during the wait.

AF finally arrived today. I've been on BCP this month to get rid of a cyst (which is holding up my IVF). I go tomorrow for a scan to see if I get a go. If so, I'll start injections tomorrow night I believe. I'll be doing the short protocal this cycle. So, if any of you guys believe in prayer, please pray that the nasty cyst has gone bye-bye... I am so ready to get on with the IVF.

Hey guys, I have been reading the posts and checking in every couple of days but havent felt up to posting. I am quite anxious after reading about all the bountiful retrivals that have resulted in such strong beautiful embies.

I have been plodding along with only one ovary. I was pleased that I managed to have 9 eggs retrieved yesterday and found out this morning that 8 fertilised. Okay for only one ovary and I am going in for my transfer on Sunday morning.

I think I am joining Kristin and MBA (MBA we also have the same number of embies - do we call them embies at this stage?) for a Sunday transfer.

Wisconsongal- I am so sorry that must be totally devastating - I hope you get some answers that will help to avoid it happenning again.

Angelica - wow you are coping with a lot- hang in there!

Vicky - hmmm instead of a HPT you may have to be content over analysing every twinge, cramp and sore boob (LOL) which is what I will be doing- I forsee hours in front of the mirror looking for changes and lying in bed at night holding my belly.. argghhhh - gosh I find myself doing that already!!

Mia - you are a champ keeping up with the list. Good luck for your wait...

I can feel in my bones that this group is going to get a lot of wonderful BFPs.

Hello all
Haven't had time to check all the posts but wanted to share my news. I am on my 2ww. I am a little disappionted because we only had 1 embie to transfer, out of the 11 only 6 made it and out of those 5 had abmomalities and luckily 1 was perfect. I guess it only takes one but i was really hoping to be able to transfer more this time. I test on 21st November. Wishing everyone well and will catch up on posts when bed rest is over because computor is not very comfy to sit at.
Take care all

Suzhan
Looks like we within a day or two of eachother. Today is my 3rd day of Gonal F and Menopur. Things are going ok. These shots seem to sting a bit but no big deal. Go in Tuesday for US and BW. Hope all is going well. Trying to provide the best environment as possible.

They say EC and ER will be the week of Thanksgiving if all goes well.

Please let me know how you are doing with this round.

To all you 2 WW good luck and I am thinking of each and ever one of you. Looks of BFP for this board.

Wisconsingal..Sooo sorry to hear about your cycle. With this being my first I can not offer you and suggestions. I am sorry cause I know how much we all put into this. Hang in there.

Mia. Thank You again for keeping us all up-to-date. Glad you can have hubby do the PIO. I admire you for trying on your own.

Have a great day

Vicki, I too have been dying to take a test, but DH will not let me. I went to transfer on 11/5, and retrieval on 11/2, so I'm actually on day 9. Which I know is still too early. I may cave and do one next weekend, as my test is not until Monday the 20th. That will be about day 13/14 for me, and should be pretty accurate. I have family coming in the day before and would like to know before then, so if it's negative I can try and get a lot of it out of my system before they get here. I'll just cry all weekend. :-( It sounds like we test the same day. I do think it's too early right now, so hang in there a while longer. I know it's torture. This morning I woke up feeling a little sick to my stomach, and was hoping and praying it was morning sickness. How crazy is that? Waaaay too early for that! :-) I'm driving myself crazy!
