Ok so I just googled the perfume thing. This is what someone said:
"Apparently perfume has embryo toxic properties on the molecular level."
I dont know if it is true.....but I am freaking out right now...cause as I type DH just used acrylic chaulking in the bathroom. I am clear across the house and choking on the fumes. Dear God it stinks! He is opening the back door and putting a fan to push the fumes out and it is what 7 degrees outside!!!

Amy : That's really tough! I'm so sorry. Just try & keep positive...maybe that will be the one.
I'm cutting it close as we have to go to 5 days but doing a lot of praying.

Weezie: Sorry you're feeling bad....just take it easy. It's a high number, but just concetrate on those follies.

I'm doing ok..no crazy reactions or anything. Sat on the heating pad for about an hour :)

Keep positive girls!! many blessings.

Yes, the embies are sensitive to purfumes, even the smells from deodorant, so you aren't supposed to wear them, but I was asking why dh can't. SOmeone posted that their info says dh shouldn't wear anything smelly also...

Rinnie: I would limit the heating pad to 15 minutes, I read that over heating the area is not good.

Suga: STAY POSITIVE. Cramping is very common during the 2ww for BFPers!!

Weezie and Tammy: Thanks for that info, I need to check with dh when the last time he has.. you know. I really haven't felt in the mood this week... I blame it on the meds...

I am still thinking about acupuncture.. I will call tomorrow and get a quote from them.

Well I went to the store to try out the smoothie recipe and my stupid store doesn't carry Trader Joes! :( And they didn't even have frozen pineapple, but they did have fresh trimmed pineapple (with the all important core! So I used the fresh one, plus some of the middle,a nd I froze the rest, tonights was just a trial - and it was yummy :)

I will ask about the patch tomorrow. Maybe they just haven't ordered it for me yet. Thankfully I am just a little bloated, my clothes aren't tight on me or anything, but I have had cramping today in my Full ovary.

bat - I started PIO tonight ( same day as ER) it was ok- I have lidocaine cream that I put on 45 min prior to the shot, and DH did a great job- (still can't feel it!!!!!!!!! of course I am prepared to feel it tomorrow when I wake up  )

Quick notes
21bat - I think pineapple is for the day of ET and for at least 5 days, I ttink Mia had an early post about it here.
Amy - I know you are bummed but keep poisitive beccause the truth is that one is what it takes, I knot is a numgame but lease stay positive, we are all praying for you.
Mia- glad you checked and got the trigger, I had nosie effects from it at all.

About PIO, I tried heating pad again last light on medium for 10 min on the spooof the hot and voila! No bad sore or paiin on my butt today! So it works really well for me.

Weezie- you lucky girl! DH and I haven' been able to .... in a while since RE said no more after day 8 of cycle :( and I wish I was superwoman!

To girls around ER, remember also that not being able to urinate mucch during the day, being swollen and tender could be symptoms of OHSS, I think that's what I had, so please take care of yorselves and call your RE if you don't feel good.

I got to go lay down, I feel like I just had 5 cups oo strong coffee, I am really jittery and my DH took my pulse at resting, 104! I don't know what is up with me. I feel like crying.

Whats the averge number of days on the stim meds? Ive heard between 9-16?

My nurse said start Sat Jan 26th and plan on ER Feb 6 ish. Right now I am on the 12 day plan I guess. Has anyone gone early or later than that? I have only been on them 2 days and I feel a bit off- slightly nauseous, tired, cranky, mild lower belly pain- like I can tell the ovaries exist.

I can tell I am cranky because I got mad at DH tonight. He is one of those "never takes any medications" types, including cold medication and Advil for headaches. He doesn't like using them. He made some minor comment about having an upset stomach today after taking the Doxycycline. I shot him a look and said "dont you even start complaining about taking 7 days of antibiotics when I have to do all this other crap thats 10 xs worse!" He apologized of course and said he was just stating a fact, not complaining, but I am still irritated. I found out that he took it on an empty stomach which probably is why he had a stomach ache today.

Ok, deep breath. Refocus.

I can't wait to hear about all the BFPs that are going to happen soon!

So here's a question my DH and I were discussing at dinner just now.
Those of you that already had ER...how many eggs or follicles did you have and how many of those actually got retrieved? If I had 20+follicles, how many of those would get retrieved? Just the big ones (about half, mabye)???

Tammy -thanks for the info about the perfume. I told my husband not to wear it but he wanted to know why :) I wouldn't worry too much about the fumes...you really need to be up close to it for an extended period of time to cause any problems.

Marin - i stimmed for 7 days...and that's pretty quick. they had me on a slow protocol because of possible PCOS but i responded pretty quickly to the meds. All those symptoms are normal. I got really bloated towards the end!! Buy some stretchy pants :)

My nurse didn't give me any numbing stuff for the trigger shot tonight, i'm just icing. Still scared...5hrs to go...i probably wont think abt it for a while...yeah right!! :)

What time of day are you girls doing the PIO shots?? The other shots i've been doing at 7am and 7pm...and it was ok but the PIO shots are for much longer and i probably can't do them by myself, so i am thinking maybe doing it late at night, like 11pm before bed? then again, if i do it at 7pm then we can go out afterwards. and if i do it in the morning, there's a chance i might oversleep! :) Any suggestions?

I would say to do them before bed. Also, I think why the men arent allowed to wear anything either is because they are in the room with us during ET...when the fragile embryos are being placed. Out of 20 follicles...you could have close to all retrieved, but perhaps around two-thirds would be mature and fertilize.. I am of course using my best guess. I had 14 follicles, retrieved 12, 10 were mature, and 8 fertilized. Everyone is different.

Marin: Average is about 12 days, I think. Although, there are so many protocols and everyone responds differently.

Loopie – 16 eggs, that’s a lot! Good job! Did the tell you how many fertilized or just tomorrow? How are you feeling? ET on Tuesday? I swear by the heating pad (I know I sound like a parrot!) for the day after effect of PIO!
21bat – good luck with the trigger and fingers crossed for mature eggs! Your ER is on Tuesday with Mia? Don’t be scared of the PIO shots, they sting a little but really it is not that bad, I had trouble with the day after but since using my heating pad, that hasn’t been so bad either. With my unused meds I going to keep them until I know I don’t need my second IVF cycle since we don’t have any frosties. Then I probably will give it to the clinic for another patient. I did patches and vaginal gel the day after ET.
Amy – continue hanging in there, hopefully that’s your miracle embie!
Rin – 6 mature eggs, that’s great, my RE said he expects only to get 50% eggs out of number of follies and anything higher is great, good job! Just make sure you never rise your body temp with the heating pad after ET, before it should be fine.
Mia – Good luck with trigger tonight – go follies! The nurse will give you a PIO on the day of ER, than I started patches the day after ET, and the progesterone gel, continued on medrol, baby aspirin and prenatal. Sorry you are crampy!
Tammy- are you swollen and tender or just crampy? 1:30 woo-hoo let us know how many beautiful embies you put back in! Sticky vibes!
Weezie – crazy socks – what a cute idea! Good luck with trigger shot, then do you get a day off from needles? That was the best!
Suga- sorry you don’t feel well. Am also having weird feelings like my uterus is moving around and getting harder. I am having tons of emotional ups and downs too so I guess it is all the meds, my tummy is sticking out, if anyone saw me they would say I am 4 months pregnant is so out there (I usually have a semi-flat tummy)! Hopefully we are both having BFP symptoms! I am not tender like I was, but my tummy is hard. I just had an outburst of tears and then fell asleep so I feel better now.
Marin – I was on the meds for 9 days and on the 10th day after u/s he triggered me one day early. It really depends on your doses and what the RE sees in the u/s. The meds really do play with your mind, try to be good to yourself and take it easy, no more exercising, and yes, I was never so aware of my ovaries!!!
21bat (again!)- My RE said 50% number of eggs is what he expects from follies. I had 10 follies, 7 eggs, 4 were mature enough for ICSI and 4 embies. I am doing PIO at 10 pm. I hope you get lots of mature eggs!

I am trying to not POAS! but it is hard, I was thinking of doing it on Friday to be prepared bt then again I know HPT doesn't pick up Hcg as well as a blood test... oh what to do, I don't think I can wait until until Saturday to find out! (over 4 yrs ago I had an early m/c and the HPT was negative for a while even though I was pregnant) so I don't trust those too much... I feel better now after my emotional outburst! :)
Again, ifyou know your test date, post it on the other LIST post or add to your siggie so I can try to have a current test date for all of us :)

Hi Gabi-I wish you great success!
Perhaps you should try posting a new thread on the General list or IVF list (or both)
I am sure that there are some women from your area in the UK that will have knowledge about clinics.

cheers and good luck

How silly is this?? DH and I were saying it feels like today is the day that we go pick up our children and bring them home. As if they are babies already and they have told us it is time to pick them up. LOL They are 45 minutes from home right now and I just cant wait. Did anyone else feel this way? LOL I know it is silly. :D

Gabi - Sorry to hear the NHS will not fund your ivf, I thought that they had allowed couples with chidren to get at least 1 go.
I can only suggest that you check out the clinics in your area by reserching them online first. We are in N.I and so there is only two clinics for us to choose from. The cost varies from clinic to clinic but it's around 3500 to 5000 privetly. Good luck with the search and I hope it all turns out for the best. :)
