Hello everyone! :D

Sam --- The good thing is that you will have a plenty of time off to recover now. 8) The most important thing is that the baby is OK and now it is just a matter of time. Good luck and get well soon! I cannot wait to experience what the kicking is like, especially with two!

Wannababy --- I was painting when I was on stims shots and I was told the paint is safe nowadays from causing any trouble. I would probably still try to avoid it, but don't worry to much about it! I hope you can get rid of the fumes soon! It usually just takes a couple of days.

Myhb ---- good to hear from you again! Do you have any details on when you are starting? I really miss my running, and I feel like I am eating so much! I have to though, otherwise I am very nauseus. But what the heck, it's all worth it, right! I really really wish this happens for you soon!!!!!!

Mia --- congrats on starting again! This is great! You are so ready! Good luck with everything, you will be in my prayers this holiday season!

Rittie ---- I cannot believe you have only gained 3 kgs with twins! I feel like I have gained more that that already and I am only 9 weeks! How big is your tummy? The thing with the genders, at least you did not tell anyone and you know now, it would have been worse to find out after they are born!

Suhan ---- I feel the same way! I have to eat every 2 hours to stay normal, otherwise I am very nauseated. And I had to go to lots of parties this past 2 weeks. I try to keep it healthy as well, but sometimes I have to even wake up in the middle of the night and eat! Last night I woke up at 1:30 am feeling nauseated, so I had a yogurt and I had to wake up again at 5 am and had a banana. And I had a big dinner last nigt. This is really crazy.

Girls, yesterday I had to go buy a new bra and realized I am already 34 DD. It it very hard to find one like that, so Victoria's Secret was my only option. I am normally 34 C and last week I bought a 34 D that barely fits me now. I also have a belly and I cannot wear normal pants anymore. I only have 1 pair of pants that fits me now. I went through some pregnancy clothes that my friend gave me and they don't fit me yet, except one pair of jeans - they don't have the pouch for the belly, just an adjustable top - I recommend. Those are perfect. So I have to get out and buy some clothes. I have not weighted myself, but I feel like I have gained at least 9 pounds. Normally I am 5'10" and 138 pounds. Just my breasts are much heavier. I hope I won't continue this way, or I will be a big mellon  !
My father in law arrived last week and they came for the weekend. He was so excited, he wants to buy my the double stroller and changing table and beds already! I think it's too soon, but my MIL said I can always return it and I should let him do it. He is here only for a month, so he told me I should start looking and pick what I want. It is very nice of him, I almost cried....
Hope you all had a nice weekend! Good luck with everything and don't stress out too much before the Holidays!

Hi all - sorry I've been mia, but I've been feeling kinda poorly - asleep by 8 at night. And, the last few days, I've added in nausea - more like I feel like I'm gagging every time I eat (or even when I don't eat.) All that helps is to lay down and rest. I'm not complaining (at all) but it does make me pretty unproductive. I actually came home early today from work because I had a light afternoon and was feeling so icky. Hmm....wonder how long this will last, it's a 'new' thing that's for sure.

Sam - hope you're well on the road to recovery and feeling much better.

Wannababy - hope things on the painting front are going well. Everyone else has already replied, but just to echo their comments, I've heard today that water-based/latex paints are nothing to be concerned about and are safe nowadays.

Lola - I know what you mean about the bra - I have 1 only that fits now and it's already a D - roomy D at that! I can't imagine where I'll be in a few weeks....I've not gained much weight (maybe 1-2 lbs) but my pants do feel much tighter. Have you heard about these things called belly bands - supposedly they work to expand the waistline of your existing pants so you don't have to buy another wardrobe at this point (since it won't help in a couple of months anyway....) I haven't had to get to that point yet, but I think I will in another week or so if things keep at this pace. Your father-in-law's offer is so sweet!

Mia - How goes the lupron? Hope you're doing well!

Myhb - good to hear from you! Keep us posted on how you're doing and your plans in the new year.

Rittie - Thanks for clarifying the 3kg = 7 lbs. That's still great for this far along, especially since the babies are doing well!! How did you keep up your healthy food intake? I've had a hard time eat healthy foods lately - things like brocolli make me really not feel well, while breads and fruits (sweets in general) seem to agree with me more. I know I need to eat the healthy stuff but for some reason, it doesn't seem appetizing right now....strange as that is.

Hope everyone's well and enjoying the holidays.

Take care,

- suzhan

Hi girls,

I saw the consultant at hospital on Tuesday. She went through the scans and was happy with the progress of the twins. She said the babies are measuring the same as singleton babies which is good news. She is expecting their growth to slow down after 28 weeks (as compared to the Singleton due to lack of space). She said I'm looking like a 24 week pregnancy at 21.5 weeks. I have a definite stick out bump now which I like a lot! Can you believe people at work still haven't worked out I am pregnant??!! The next scan is at 28 weeks and I only need to see the GP in 4 weeks time before seeing her again after the scan. Still doesn't seem like a lot of monitoring considering she went on and on about the risk of pre-term labour for twins blah blah blah .... hhmmmmm, pray for me that they'll stay put inside till the mid to high 30 weeks pls girls....

Suzhan, I was very lucky that I had 3 months off which co-incided with the 1st Trimester. So I had the luxury of resting as much as I felt I needed, whenever I needed. And that had helped with the sickness (that and accupuncture for me). I never lost appetite or wanted more food. But I did find myself turned off by a lot of foods that one is supposed to eat. I couldn't eat anything sour so no fruit, no yoghurt. Veggies was also hard to swallow particularly Brocolli which I love. I basically stuck to things which I could eat like lots of protein and a little carbs (chips rocked :-). Since moving to the second trimester I find that I can eat the things that I couldn't before and now I'm eating tonnes of green veg again and a bit of fruit. But as my main complaint now is breathlessness (1 baby v high). Particularly after eating, I find it hard to breathe for hours. Cutting the portions seem to help ease the discomfort. To tell you the truth I have forgotten what 'hunger' feels like as in the 1st Trimester I went from not hungry to MUST EAT NOW or get sick. To 2nd Trimester where I constantly feel like I've swallowed a basketball and never hungry.

Other than that and a bit of sleeplessness, I find the second trimester a great improvement from the first. Its also lovely when the babies do whale turns in the belly. I haven't felt kicks yet but hopefully soon. So girls soldiering through the sickness, rest as much as you can, and hopefully you too will feel better soon.

Merry Christmas everyone
Rittie

Rittie-

I can not believe that you are just begining to show. I have been showing since the first month. I tried to keep my pregnancy a secret but everyone guessed because I am showing so much. People even think I am in my last month and when i tell them different they ask if I am having twins. My doctor said I have gained the "perfect amount" about a pound a week so I am not sure if it is just they way I am carrying.

Suzhan and anyone else who is nausaus (sp? i should just learn how to spell tha word). I feel like I lived off of strawberries, grapefruit, bake potatoes, and past (I never have liked pasta or potatoes). To get my ehalthy bits in which was not easy, I added protien powder to shakes, and ate food I usually did not eat like tofu and beans. It helped me to eat food that I did not usually eat as the taste did not turn me off before I tried it. I would also add veggies to my potatoe and pasta (mac and cheese with broccoli)

As for me---still sick. i am better than what I was in the hospital but not getting any better from where I am. I am throwing up all the time and dry heaving about 30 X's a day. My stomach and ribs are so sore that I just cry by the end of the night. To make matters worse, I was supposed to have my appointment today to make sure I am not getting an infection in my lungs (which could be whats happening) and to check the baby to make sure everythign is fine, But we have a huge snow storm in colorado. All our streets are closed and undrivable. I have 3-4 feet outside my door. Even getting to a hospital would be difficult. My appt. will not happen and then it is all closed for christmas. I am hoping my doctor will call with some ideas. I hope I do not have to go back to the hospital over Christmas.

Everything else good....dreaming about my babyroom and since my husband is also snowed in, maybe he will start painting : )

Sam,
OMG, your poor thing! I'm sorry this is happening to you. I don't have much advice. I know this is hard. All I can say is stay in bed and take is easy. Stay warm. Maybe drinking lot's of warm fluids will help? Sending you healthy vibes.

Hi everyone else! I'm just waiting around for transfer day. It seems so far away. Christmas is a lovely distraction. :) The inlaws will be here on Saturday. It should be lot's of fun.

Mia ---- I am so happy for you that your transfer date is getting close! Just don't stress over anything and let your body be ready. It will happen for you for sure!

Sam ---- this pregnancy is really hard on you, ha? I hope everything goes well and you get much better very soon. I saw the snowstorm on the news, how amazing! It must feel very cozy inside your home now, ha? I was showing from the beggining as well. Today I had a nails appointment and I told them I am pregnant and I will lean back to be away from the smells. The lady told me: " Oh, now I know why you look so different, I thought you have gained some weight, because you used to be so skinny before." So I guess people notice already.. Maybe it is also because I have to eat a lot to lessen my nausea and so I am eating very often. I guess everybody has it different, some people cannot even eat, but I have to ...

Rittie --- I guess you had the same nausea where you must eat or get sick... even at night I have to eat. Thanks for your heads up on the second trimester. I cannot wait to have an aquarium in my belly...

Suzhan --- my appointment is actually on the 28th - Thursday. I don't know whu I thought it was on 27th. I have never heard of the belly bands, but I bought 2 pairs of pregnancy pants that already fit me now :o So I am all set, I guess. I went from normal to pregnancy clothes within 2 weeks... I don't even want to step on the scale, good thing we don't have one. I am gagging so much as well, especialy when I have an empty stomach. And I also feel unproductive, so don't worry. That's what we have to do for those babies.

Happy Holidays to all of you! I am done with my Christmas shopping, I am so happy!

Love Lola

Hey everyone--it feels like it has been forever since I have been in here. We had our house painted so I was at at a hotel for a couple of nights. Ever since they have finished, we have been working at putting thehouse back together again. I hope everyone is well, especially you Sam. I hope you are back to normal soon! I saw the snow on TV-wow!

I had another us/bw this past Wednesday. The baby's heartrate was 150! What a great relief! Everything looks great. I go again on the 27 and if all is well, no more PIO and I will be released on 12/29. That will be the best birthday gift!

I will be busy until xmas day. I have decorations to do and food to start cooking. If I am not back before then, I wish you all a Merry and Blessed holiday. Enjoy and I'll be back soon! Love ya ladies! :)

Hello everyone. I just wanted to let you all know that I think I have turned a corner. I am feeling better (not normal) but better. I went to the doctor and she she checked the baby. She is doing great. She also did not have re-hospitlize me. She even said that I had such severe pneumonia that I probably had it for two months (just building) which also justifies why this pregnancy has been so hard. It was actually a relief as I thought I was just not handling it well. I felt depressed ( I have never felt that way before ) and was worried and mad at myself. I could barely get out of bed and thought, how can I be so weak. Now I know.

Anyhow, I have 3-6 feet outside my door and it just made me crave a child so badly. All my enighbors were out sledding (noone could leave so we all just gathered everyday). It was sooo cool. I am from Az. so I never seen a storm like that before. Of course that means I got no christmas shopping done but I am pulling the sick card.

I am glad everyone is doing well. I loved my u/s at the beginning . Isn't it fun???? I also ate all the time as well to avoid being sick. I lived off Captian Crunch.

Take care and talk to you soon

Hello everyone! How was your Holidays?

Suzhan and Wannababy --- good luck with your scan tomorrow! How exciting, the time is already here! I am sure everything will be just fine! Mine is actually on Thursday, I messed up the dates, so I will let you know. My belly is already much bigger and I started showing! (only when not wearing a sweater or jacket).

Wannababy --- I was so glad to hear about your baby's hearbeat! 150 is great!

Sam --- I hope you are feeling much better by now and the snow situation has gotten better as well. Your little girl will definitely enjoy lots of snow in the future...

I found out I have already gained about 9 pounds. :o I think it is too much... I have to ask my doctor. If I keep going this pace, I don't want to see myself at the end. I sent a picture of me and my husband under the Christmas tree to my brother and he told me he can definitely see the weight gain just looking at my face! I have also talked to somebody who had twins and she told me I should not worry about it as I will lose all the weight after birth just by taking care of the little ones.

Hope you all are doing well! Love Lola

Suzhan-How was your scan this morning? Did you hear the heartbeat? What was that like for you?

Lola- Good luck at your scan tomorrow!

Sam-I am so glad that you are on the mend!

I had my final scan this morning. My little brownie looks like a fish. The baby has nubs for arms and legs and the heartbeat was 170  I am officially off PIO and I go back this Friday for the last bloodwork. If all is well, then they will release me. This will be the best birthday gift ever. My 1st OB/GYN appt is January 11. :)

I made my announcement on Xmas and it was one of the best things that I ever done in my life. My DH was overwhelmed by my family's reaction. It was very emotional, not to mention special. If you aren't pregnant yet, I pray that you each experience making that special announcement. It was awesome!

I hope everyone is trucking along well and enjoying the quick holiday season. It will be over before you know it.........

Just a quick note....

Had my scan today and it was so exciting to see the little one (yes, there's just 1). His/her heartbeat was 158 but was only measuring 6 wks 5 days (doctor says I'm 7 wks 2 days, even though the ticker says 7 wks, 3dys - how confusing.....) Anyway, the doctor said this is nothing to worry over and that the days can be off by up to a week and still be fine. He said he could do the measurement three times and get three results because the difference in 3-4 days is only 1-3 millimeters right now.....But knowing me, I'll worry until next week's scan.

Wannababy - congrat's on being so close to discharge - and being off the evil PIO's! My bum is so bruised. Sounds like your little one's doing just great!

Lola - good luck on your next scan!

Sam - glad to hear your digging out of the blizzard and starting to get back on your feet.

Good luck and happy holidays to everyone!

Post by lmsb122003 »

Hi I'm new. I had IVF in Nov and am now 8w1d Pregnant with Twins. My due date is Aug 8. I've been reading your board for a couple weeks now and see that many of you are due around the same timeframe. We told our families over christmas it was very exciting. My husband is deployed so he had to tell his family over the phone on christmas day they all cried.

Suzhan --- I am happy that you scan went well. Don't worry too much about their size, my babies were 3 days behind at my scan 2 weeks ago and yesterday they were 2 days bigger (10 weeks and 5 days instead of 10weeks and 3 days). My doctor told me anything within a week in normal. I have to do another update and include your one little beanie!

Wannababy --- How great! The little heart is pumping like crazy now, ha? Making the annoucements is a lot of fun, just seeing people's reactions is cute. We started telling as well. Not to everybody yet, but some close friends already know.

Imsb --- Welcome to our board and congratulations! I am also having twins! Are yours fraternal like mine? Let us know when your next scan is.

My scan went well yesterday and I could not believe how fast they have been growing in the past two weeks. They are already 38 mm ( 1 and 1/2 inch). For the first time, we saw them moving around, kicking their little legs and waving their hands. They are so active! This was a big change, because at my last scan they were not moving at all and we could not distinguish their arms and legs yet. I almost cried! Their heart beat was very fast. They did not measure it but said it is all good. I also have stopped taking progesteron! Finally I am on my own... I have my last scan on 1/11 and then I have to find a doctor in my area.

Happy New Year to all of you, this will be an exciting one for all of us.

Hello everyone it will take me awhile to keep up with all but everyone seems so nice. I'm 42 and my husband is deployed we have been married 3 years and he has been away a lot so i had already been seeing an RE and we decided before he left this time to freeze his sperm so I could do IVF. I had a 3d Transfer on Nov 17 and had my first HCG 11/27 and again on 11/29 i was very nervous and so was my RE because i transfered 3 in hopes for 1 or 2 and my numbers were very high. I think my first was 398 at 10 days post. wow! So I went for 2 weeks wondering and nervous....Then when i had my 6 wk Ult we discovered 2 but only heard 1 heartbeat at the time wasnt sure what was going to happen to the other. My RE repeated my ultrasound at 7 weeks which was the Wed before Christmas and even though we didnt listen you could easily see the two fluttering heartbeats YEAH! and he said they both looked good one was just a little bigger than the other. I just finished my PIO IM this past week. Thank Goodness... But am still taking Oral Prog for another 3 weeks..However my RE gave me my final instructions and said i was dismissed. I am being referred to a perinatologist due to my age and multiples and am currently awaiting their call for an Appointment. I leave Jan 11th to fly and meet my spouse in Italy for his R&R so I'm hoping to get in to see the DR before i leave. Not sure when he will do another scan. My due date is Aug 8th....which should be accurate because he said 38 wks past the day after the egg retrieval. However i'm reading that twins usually do not go to term....I'm very excited and glad to meet other people i can compare notes with during this process since this is my first and probably my only pregnancy. It's nice to have someone who understands to share with....Cant wait for next scan and to find out the sex' it's so exciting and scary at the same time.... :D
