Hi Girls,

Congratulations Kirsti

And for me ... so happy! .... Its a wee baby GIRL!

Am over the moon. Always dreamed of having (lots of) daughters! And this is a great start! But feel so suprised! Had a big change of heart few days before the scan and was sure it was a boy.

We had the sonographer write down the sex and put it in an envelope coz DH didnt want to know (he made it to the scan in the end!). So the envelope is sitting in a little weaved basket we have along with our other embryos that didnt make it, should he ever want to have a look! I know he will be so happy to have the baby, but do know that he was hoping for a boy so hope he isnt disappointed!

Me - am muchas happy, cant believe it, all starting to feel bit more real. Apparently cant feel any movement too coz the placenta is at the front of the uterus so theres extra cushioning. Everything looked good with baby, they mentionned one thing not to worry about, but there was a lot of fluid in one of the kidneys but said that I was the third person that day and they pick this up all the time and doesnt end up meaning anything. Hope so!

Hope everyone else is well!! I dont know what to do with myself now!

Kristi - Congratulations on your 2 boys, you must be so thrilled to see them again. Do you have another scan?

Mel - A little girl how lovely and great to hear she is doing well. Is that your last scan?

So are you both now planning to shop, shop, shop? It must be such a relief to get to the half way mark with everything looking fab.

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS, to you both

It took me awhile to post because I've been busy shopping. ha ha. Actually I did do some shopping today and got "coordinating" outfits...not identical (my twins are fraternal anyway), but coordinating. Like the same type of outfit, just a different color, etc. The idea of 2 boys is growing on me already.

Mel, I'm so happy for you having a girl. How fun!! I should've sent you all the pink flowery princess stuff that I ended up returning at several stores tonight!!!! I can't believe DH doesn't want to know yet. That's cute about the envelope thing...do you think he can resist that long?

I go back to my regular doctor next week. I'm curious to find out when/if we get any more scans!!! Usually people don't after 20 weeks, right? Maybe with twins I'll get another one some day? I hope that wasn't the last look at them...it's so fun!

Thanks for the congratulations  Its a really wonderful feeling, still can't believe when I am alone or sat quietly just thinking about things that this is actually happening. Was thinking of all the times I longed and imagined to be pregnant, and now here I am with my little girl! I guess just knowing the sex has made it feel a little more definate or real, and have started to think of my daughter in there getting a little bigger and stronger every day and just cant wait until she is here!

Kirsti, heck you really were sure about things if you went and bought clothes in both sexes!

DH not in such a tangle to race to the baby shops! So I am going to do some gentle (unisex!) shopping for some small things by myself today, and then its my birthday next week, so have decided my ideal birthday weekend is going to be having us to baby shopping together (hee hee!) not sure how much he will love that!

Bella am excited for you!! Are you nervous, excited or calm about all of this?

For those who have had the scan, what did you guys think?? I was so suprised! Guess I thought I was going to see a chubby cheeked baby in there (given thats how things looked at the earlier 12 wk profile!) but everything was very skeletal! And though sonographer assured me it was all totally normal, I was schocked to see a face that well looked like an alien!! Of course was still wonderful to see all of the fingers and toes, but suprised at how the face looked still. What about for you guys? What could you see?

Am hoping I will get another scan at 30 weeks, although in theory I dont get another one, I can always book an appointment with my original specialist for an extra. I think I will for sure if they dont give me one, just to make sure the whole kidney thing is okay (which I have to admit of course has left me an insy winsy bit nervous, even though she said not to worry)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

KristiA and Mel_P...congrats....2 boys and another girl :D :D :D :D Like everyone says it doesn't matter as long as the baby(ies) is healthy...and we all have been truly blessed. (Mel please don't worry about the water on the kidney..I read it will resolve itself..and is only a probable marker)....Seeing the babies really does put it in more perspective and makes it real.....my credit card is proof of this reality :D

I get to see the little one again on Friday and then the big scan a week from Wed (with DH :D ). My doc has me in high risk due to being an IVF baby...and she knows I am a worry-wort control freak :D ....so I get to see the baby alot.

My appetite is still growing! Now if I don't eat when I get hungry HUGE noises come from within and I get really dizzy. Last night at midnight I had 2 huge bowls of tomatoe soup. Today DH is on his way to India  so I plan on going to our local restaurant and eating in quiet a 3 course meal.

Anyone thinking of names?

Congrats KristiA and Mel_P............

I received my doppler from dynamicdoppler 2 days ago. It's so exciting to hear the little ones heartbeat. DH was a bit confused at first. We will need more U/S gel for sure. They're moving all of the time and sometimes I get a kick from the upper beanie. My stomach also moves in different directions at times. I have lower backaches, abdominal ligament stretching pains, everyday. My abdomen is so far out there that I have to wear a maternity dupport belt and I'm only 18w3d, I can barely get out of bed nor turn over. I did not have this with my 3 prior pregnancies and I'm 30 years young. I have some cramping, not severe..just mild and sometimes my uterus contracts, braxton hicks especially if I've moved around to much or have stood on my feet to long. DD issued me a prescription for a walker and a handicap decal sticker for 9 months.....but I thank the LORD everyday for blessing us.

I can't wait for our 20+ wk scan on 7/11

Mel, my babies were skinny too. To be exact, they were 10-11 ounces & 8-9 inches long (is that crown to rump or to feet?). The lady said "your babies are long and skinny".

Ahart, geez, I can't believe everything you are going through. You already know you are having one boy, right? And you'll find out the other soon. Let's see if you join the boy/boy club with me. :)

Traci, I've been keeping a list of names every time I hear one that I like. Right now Blake & Tyler are my favorites...but my favorites change nearly every week.

Sue, yes, I have been a shop-a-holic the past 3 days since I found out I was having boys. I have to admit the baby boy stuff is really cute.

Bella, no, I don't think I'll dress them identical...but rather "coordinating". Like outfits that are the same pattern, but different color, etc. I found socks/shoes and one says "I love Mommy" & the other says "I love Daddy". So if they wear those at the same time, how cute is that?????? Can't wait to hear your news this week!!

Well, I think even though I only have 1 little munchkin inside me, I am in the carrying twins team. What you guys describe is exactly what I am feeling & going through. Everyone seems to comment on how 'big' my belly is for how far I am - even some young boy who doesn't even have children!!! I really don't mind having a big belly - I love it most of the time - but I wish people would stop painting me with the 'that's not normal' brush.

I haven't put on too much weight - 3.8 kgs (which is about 8 pounds). But now am starting to watch my sodium intake. I had really severe chest pains last week, and started to get a little concerned. Doc said it was OK & some tendant damage from a virus, but to cut back on sodium intake. I loooove salty foods...I don't have the sweet tooth. Oh well, so am eating healthier now.

I can't wait til Thursday & to see my little boy or girl! I have a nightmare schedule at work this week, so can't just wish away the days :-( Our u/s clinic is in a big shopping centre, and Thursday night is late night shopping, so I have already warned DH that we are off to the baby shops after the scan!!!

As for names - right now we like Lucy & Declan.

Hey girls!! I guess I can "officially" post here now since I am 14w4d. I have missed all of you - although I have been reading this thread to keep up on your progress. Congrats to all of you on your healthy pregnancies and finding out the genders, etc - how exciting!! I had a scan on June 14. Everything looks really, really good - yet it was too early to tell sex. My family members looked at the ultrasound photos and most of them think it's a boy, but my mother is convinced it's a girl. my dh thinks it's a boy - I am split on the issue. I feel "boy" most of the time but have "girl" thoughts too. Guess I'm normal? Anyway, I find out in August what I am having. Don't have an official date for the scan yet - but I will let you know when I know. My next appt. is July 11 and I will get to hear the heartbeat again. Last time the HR was 144.

My m/s and fatigue is gone, yet I have been getting terrible headaches for a few weeks. My doc said this is normal and gave me a prescription for them. Seems to help a bit. Anyone else have problems with headaches? I am showing a lot too - especially for 14 1/2 weeks. None of my old jeans fit at all. I have moved into dh's sweat pants and my maternity pants. Everyone says the fact that I "popped out" so fast means it's a boy. It is so fun to get everyone's opinion and hear all the old wives tales.

Well have a great day everyone and I'll be chatting with you again soon!! :D

Lisa - welcome across!! It's amazing, isn't it?? Making that first step to this side on the 1st Tri thread is hard enough, and then you feel nervous about going to 2nd tri thread!!! It's great to hear everything is going so well with you.

I had terrible headaches at around 12 - 15 weeks too, and I remember a few posts on this thread from people with the same problem, so from my estimation, that is 'normal'! You'll be pleased to know the headaches have gone now, replaced by back aches :-)
