Hello ladies :P

Well I have felt miserable, but I can't attribute it to the preggers. I have had a bad head cold, can't sleep, can't breath, can't take anything (or at least I won't take anything), and I am trying to get sypmathy from my hubby. But no luck, he won't even give me kisses!!! Bummer....

Anyway I am totally relating to the PIO problems Cocoa. My hips are swollen, hard and itchy, almost like an allergic reaction. It is torture to find a spot that isn't already swollen. Has anyone tried switching to the thighs to provide some relief? I am seriously considering researching online where I could aim. I wonder if the needles are too long for the thigh though.....

Cocoa- I can relate to what you said about knowing your son before you even had him. Although this will be my first, I have dreamt of a little brown haired girl for the last 10 years. I just know she is on her way... sounds corny, but I believe it. Although, with my luck it will turn out to be a boy (of course I would absolutely love him) but my heart still tells me this is a girl.

Louise-- you and WC both get to do your u/s on the 4th. How many embies did you transfer? Is there a possibility of more than one?? I can't wait to jump online Tuesday night to find out your results. Then I will probably compare betas (once again) just to dream about the likelihood of one or two babies.

I started getting pretty bad cramps and sharp pains in my abdomen. Called RE today stressed and worried. He said it was normal in IVF patients and not to be alarmed. Combo of swollen ovary and PIO side effects (gas and constipation) creates a very uncomfortable belly. Even so, I talked him in to changing my u/s to the 5th instead of the 7th. Yeah!!!!

So- Mandy that means you and I are on the SAME schedule: same due date and same u/s date. How many embies did you transfer?? Can't wait to compare notes on Wednesday.

CroElla- I have moved on to sandwiches (from pizza) Still have the carbs, but hopefully a little more healthy, especially if I ask for wheat. Haven't had constipation yet, but bring on the fiber just in case!!!

Take care all

Heidi--get a prescription for Lidocaine...it has saved my butt, literally...I put it on 20 - 60 minutes prior to the evening PIO shot...and can barely feel the shot go in.
That said, my bum is still black and blue and it hurts overally, so my husband is careful to help pick out the spot for the Lidocaine / PIO shot.

Good luck everyone!

Heidi!!!!

DON'T DO THIGHS!!!! WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T DO THIGHS!!!! The doctor told me 11 years ago when I tried my first and only other ivf before this one that I could do the PIO shots in my thighs - and yes it does "work" but you can't WALK after that!!!

I was thinking exactlyt the same thing this morning about where to put the needle other than my sore, sore butt. Yes, it itches too UGH! but I will just keep on, keeping on with the butt because at least I can still sit and walk.

So you think its a girl?? I have a friend who had a baby last Dec and she has PCOS bad!!! So when she got preg it was a miracle because she had no treatment at all. She's a believer though... but anyway, she always talked about a little girl and believed up until the u/s that told her it was a boy... yes, a healthy cute BIG boy!!! They couldn't be happier. So, you are right... whatever it is, it is YOUR baby, YOUR sweetness and YOUR light!!!

Love ya,

Cocoa

heidi74 it seams that I didn't tell you girls about the ordeal I had with my butt. 10 days ago my butt decided that it has enough of shots and started to swell and get red and hard and it hurts like hell. There was no position comfortable enough for me to sleep at. I went to the doctor and he told me that I have an infection; also he gave me antibiotics and switch progesterone shots with endometrin vaginal tablets and prometrium tablets....my butt is forever thankful!!! I have couple more days to go and than my baby and I are on our own :D

Oh Heidi, how awful for you...it is SO EASY to get an infection with all these injections (hey, poet here)...I always, always wipe the top of the bottle with an alcohol patch/swab...then we wipe the spot where the injection goes in ... my husband's an MD and he's freaky about fearing infections...if not for him I'd just jab and go!

Bet you're looking forward to stopping the meds...you're so far along! It's a fetus at the end of the 8th week...wow...

woodcliff my husband and I did exactly that every time...it was a major production every night, but I got the infection anyway!

You know, it's amazing in a way to NOT get an infection, since we're jabbing ourselves with needles every single freakin' day.
I can't imagine the pain you must have been in, I'm so happy for you that you are almost off the meds totally! Congratulations...I am so tired of every night taking the PIO shots...my husband has been great.

That said, we're tethered to one another until I'm off the shots (god forbid I should be a Big Girl and give myself a shot :? ) ...

Oh well...enjoy the weekend!

Had my first u/s today and I have one embryo with a healthy heartbeat so very happy

I have now been discharged from my clinic and handed over to my GP so will have another u/s at 12 wks. My clinic take the due date from date of transfer and not date of collection so my official due date is now 28th April and not the 25th.

My Nausea has properly started now though I haven't been sick I just feel it all day and the thought of having some ginger to help stop the feeling makes me feel even worse!

I feel sorry for you ladies having to inject it sounds horrible especially with your infection Croella I do hope you are on the mend. I have been taking suppositries (Cyclogest) from the very beginning without any problems and they are not as bad as they sound.

Well those of you who also have their scans this week - Good luck

Baby dust to you all

OK... So I looked EVERYWHERE to find Woodcliff's post about her u/s today and NOTHING!!! What's up with that????

Sorry it took ME all day to get here too. Ihad a VERY full day beginning with an hour wait at my RE's office this morning - packed due to the holiday yesterday... Then I worked (don't want to sign in when I am working - don't know who is snooping on the network), then I had a friend come by to share the news which turned into dinner out (yum, I ate what I felt like eating and it was fun except I am paying a small nauseous price), then I had to go through my son's first day of school packet and fill out all the paperwork...

So... here's the news...

It's twins with twin HBs!!! I have to say that even though I saw it with my own eyes LIVE it's still pretty darn twighlight zone-ish. I feel like I'm living someone else's life. What's even crazier is that now I have seen they are both growing and have HBs I am even more nervous that something might happen!!! Like today my bbs are feeling less sore and I'm nervous just 12 hours after my u/s... OH, it's just starting for the rest of my life... the worry I mean.

Good luck tomorrow Vlada. You'll be all right just breathe through it. I had a LONG wait this morning, it was almost cruel but I just kept on taking deep breaths. And please don't be bad like me and WC... post right away!!!

LoopyLu!!! Whaaaahoooo!!! So glad to hear your happy, happy news!!! When are due? How far along are you now????

Sleep time... love to all,

Cocoa
