I will let you know what I learn re: twins...I just ordered 2 books, will let you know if they are any good.
I am frustrated because all of the info I see is for Single pregnancies, with a bit 'tossed in' about multiples...

Hi Girls...

WOW... so much news!!! It's been a while since I posted but I have been reading the board here and there, just too nauseous to sit and think and write. I noticed that my M/S gets worse as the day goes on OR if I exercise... bummer... I will have to save my power walking for AFTER the M/S weeks. I feel so fat too but my underwear still fit around my bottom  soooo... I talk THAT as a good sign! I almost feel better if I eat nothing but after a while (about 10 or 11 am) I get dizzy. I CAN eat oatmeal, wheatna, sweet bread and very sweet fruit. I can also eat pretzel bites (I add the garlic ones to my grocery list and THEY are great!!!). The weird thing is the tuna fish... why in the world do I crave tuna fish sandwiches every night?!? I know its bad for me to eat so much of it because of the mercury but what do I DO?!?!?! HELP!!!

YEAY!!!! Rebeccaj!!! You are with me, Woodcliff and LisaPa!!! We are all due near each other and since twins tend to be erractic with their due dates maybe we'll all have them at the same time!

Vlada: I am sooo relieved that you are doing well. I am praying the this clot gets smaller and smaller and doesn't interfere... I don't believe it will be a problem in the long run anyway (except for the boring bed rest ). You babies HB rate is doing exactly what its supposed to do and so are you. We are all here for you...

CroElla... TEN WEEKS!!!! How are you feeling? Any M/S at this point? I remember my M/S did not stop until 14 weeks with my son. I woke up one day and I felt so good I didn't even remember I was pregnant!!! I the second trimester (well after 14 weeks) was such a joyous time with feeling good, the baby growing, being able to exercise... Keep us updated.

Hi LisaPa!!! So you and I haven't posted much for the same reason eh? Feeling too icky... I am glad all is well with you. I have had 2 U/S so far and my RE told me to call and schedule and appt with my OB but I have at least 2 more appts with the RE so I am putting it off until this coming week. I can get an appt pretty fast with my OB. She takes newly preg patients in a matter of days to only 1 week. I am feeling so sick anyway that the less on my appt plate the better. My next U/S is scheduled for Mon 9/24 but I continue the b/w in between.

Hey WC!!!! Glad to see you are able to post and VERY jealous that you are feeling no M/S - though I am HAPPY for you since this SHOULD be an exciting time without having to feel ill!!! I have been TRYING to get to Babies R Us for a week now but I feel so sick after work on my days off of karate that I just can't seem to do it. It's enough of a struggle to get myself to karate... I want to get those pops or candies What I HAVE been doing is cutting up the ginger root I have and boiling it for tea. I REALLY helps while I am drinking it but when I am done I get the nausea back  ... My DH and I got a new planter for our grapefruit tree on TH after work and re-planted it. Here's the story behind that... I was teaching K when I got preg with my son 14+ years ago. In the spring I was doing a plant unit and germinating seeds in plastic baggies with the kids. We used store bought seeds but they would bring in seeds from things they ate at home too(apple seeds, orange seeds, peas) and at the time I was eating all CITRUS fruits as part of my preg cravings. I decided to germinate some of the grapefruit seeds from a grapefruit I ate back then due to the cravings and VOILA!!! I now have a 6' grapefruit tree!!! Unfortunately, since I live in the NE I cannot leave it outside all year so it needs to stay in a planter so that I can bring it inside as the weather turns colder so it will never get big enough to bear fruit  The tree is of course referred to as my son's tree... It's so beautiful even without the fruit.

Shantala!!! Let us know how you're feeling sweetie!!!

Does anyone watch the Baby, Baby or Special Delivery shows on Discovery Health??? It's so cool to follow the families for that hour. I know, I know, sometimes things aren't always going well but I never out myself in those positions. I do notice though that both twins CAN be born naturally and sometimes one is born naturally and the other a C-section. Whatever the case with me I DO plan to ask for an epidural... no more of that ridiculously painful natural stuff...

Talk to you soon... Love,

Cocoa

Cocoa, '

Thought this would interest you Yes i watch discovery health all the time.............. However i am told that what we see on those shows is nothing compared to the real deal with TWIN DELIVERY............ I was told that 8 out of 10 times they need to do a c-section to get the 2cnd baby out............. So now i am thinking why go through all the stress of a vaginal birth if they are going to take baby b out via c section anyway.... I met a woman in the baby store that just had twin boys 7 weeks ago BOTH VAGINAL AND NO DRUGS......GOD BLESS HER....She looked great went to 38 weeks 1 baby was 5 1/2 lbs and the other 6 pounds....they were sooooo cute.. she has a older child as well and she said having 2 at the same time was not that bad the only issue she had was breast feeding both together now she is both breat and formula feeding.. I think i am going to follow her steps as well. What are you thinking about doing for delivery? How many of us in here are having twins? I cant keep track anymore.... Funny i can eat pretty much all the same things you do...i eat like 2 to 3 peaches a day.......I will have to go to wegmans and buy the pretzel bites they sound yummy.....Ok well have a great day....

Hi Lisa...

Yeah, I figured that MOST twin deliveries do turn out to be c-section or 50% c-section... and I agree, why bother with the "natural" if they have to cut you open anyway BUT sometimes you cannot tell. Sometimes both babies are in a good position only to have baby B move AFTER baby A is out so... in any event I am definatelt asking for an epidural. I had "natural CB" with my son and it was horrendous - sooooo painful! You get delirious after a while from the pain!!!

Sweet peaches... hmmm... I have been eating a lot of very ripe fresh pineapple but sweet peaches sound yummy... and YES, the garlic pretzel bites are superb!!! 8)

Who's got twins??? Well, me, you, WC, rebeccaj... ANYONE ELSE with TWINS???!!! due in April/May? Actually we all may go in March!!! Like WC I have been trying to find any good books on twins/multiples but cannot seem to find good ones. Anyone have and titles to share???

Take care ladies...

Oh, ladies...Cocoa, I am so, so sorry you are feeling the effects of the pregnancy so much. It sounds like you've figured out what to eat...I wish you well (Rebecca/Lisa too)...

One side effect I get is Bone Dead Tired after a walk. Even if it is only to the store (10 minutes each way) and back. It's awful, I end up on the couch feeling like a beached whale...

Oh, Puh-leeze...C-section. Is there even a QUESTION about that with twins?

I wanted a c-section even before I got preggers...I told my husband "We'll have to have twins, cuz there's no way in hell I'm going through childbirth and at least with twins I'll have my built in excuse for a c-section."

Voila...be careful what you wish for !

Call me one of those women who does not romanticize childbirth...I think it sounds rather grotesque! Nothin' natural about a watermelon coming out of you know where...

Glad I'm born in the day and age of anesthesia and epidurals!!!! I would've had to become a nun to avoid childbirth in another era.

Yes, I'm awful..but never a phony!

Hey Girls!!!

Anyone still having cramping? I seem to have pulling/cramping and it just adds to the distress of feeling like crap. I have been in bed all day watching decent TV (discovery channel addict). Sometimes I get scared and think my babies aren't growing... I know, I know... stop it!!! I just don't feel like myself. Yes WC, I am frustrated not being able to exercise and the cramping makes it worse cause my head goes all over the place. I have intestinal grumbling and gas (sorry if TMI) and its all so annoying!!! I don't remember mild cramping with my son but then again this is 14 years later so it may as well be my first pregnancy AND its twins so my uterus is growing faster?

Yes, I have a slight belly in that I can't "suck it in" anymore BUT I am really having a hard time eating so I wouldn't be surprised if I lost some weight over the last couple of days. At least I am not constipated...

Ladies - let's recruit more BFPs to our thread!!!

Love you all,

Cocoa

WC!!!! WHERE'S YOUR TICKER!?!?!?!? Did you take it off?

Yeah, well, still watching TV (House marathon is on) and my son is at a friend's house until my good Lord knows when... He always makes a fuss about coming home...

So,, whaddya think about the idea of growing a tree for your babies? I think I have to do something just as special/meaningful for these babies... I'll have to think of something... maybe a tree I can leave outside ALL year :P ???

Are you eating WC? I just had some chicken broth soup (little bit of noodle in it not much) and a few pretzel bites and now I feel like crap - nauseous.

OH, can we really take tylenol pm? I know antihistimines are totally out but diphenhydramine??? that's ok? hmmm... It's just that I wake up at 3 or 4 on the morning and have trouble getting back to sleep until 5 or 6 and that just does not work for my job... any suggestions?

Beautiful day today... wich I were out there...

WC... Thanks for the site... I like the idea of a diaper exchange party...

I think that the people on this board are just more mature in the IVF/life category... we're the "older" ones but the ones younger in age have had a condensed life experience with the heartache of IF... that all changes a person. I have been ttc (again) for 12 years... I have also had major heart pain, betrayal and tragedy in the last 10 years. In the 16 years were have been married my DH and I have attended 8 (DH attended an extra one) funerals - mostly close family. That all changes a person, hopefully for the better. Life is so much more difficult than we could have ever imagined when we were kids. We think everything will just "fall into place" most often it does not...

On a brighter note... I have been searching names and now I am really frustrated... I have to find out the genders... that's it!!! :?

love you,

COcoa I am right there with you.......I think that we are older are wiser......I see girls AND YES THATS WHAT THEY ARE TO ME....16 pushing strollers and i think to myself geez-------Do they really have a clue what motherhood is all about. Dont get me wrong my neice had her child at 16 but she finished school went on the become a single parent that stands on her own 2 feet she is 25 now and living in her own home with her son fulltime no help from anyone....never took a dime from the state in assistance everything she has she got on her own......... She works fulltime while he is in school and then the afterschool program. I ;like to beleive anything is possible as long as you have to drive for it....I know i am babbling sorry.....Like you I have had a lot of loss in my life over the last few years including both my mom and dad.... Life is tooo short We must live each day as it comes. I remember being a little girl sitting on my swing and thinking about what i want to do when i grow up... Gosh I had no clue about life then....here i am many years later have gone through alot of crap to get where i am and still everyday in this pregnancy journey is a gift to me that i NEVER thought I would have.. Is anyone else scared about this?? I sometimes worry about the babies its a scary thought to not make it to 36 weeks and watch my children go through the NICU........I know 1st hand what goes on in the NICU every now and then when i was working in the hospital i would get floated up there. I have seen 2 pound drug addicted babies and 5 month premies.....THIS I FEAR I have decided i will do whatever it takes to keep them inside me for atleast 36 weeks......I was told no TYLENOL pm....... check with your Dr. and let me know I cant sleep either like you i get up at 3 to pee and cant get back to bed uugggghhhhh........I also have some cramping and was told its round ligament pain our bodies getting ready...

Woodcliff ---- I was told when i went to the Ob that I might not be able to have a elective c- section due to ins reasons...... loook into this I was told unless deemed medicaly needed they will not cover it......like you I WANT A C SECTION.......Also i was told no cappacino.......and THAT kills me i have a machine in my kitchen that i look at everyday and cant use.........i miss my expresso.............Every book or Dr told me 1 -2 cups a day in low doses of caffine and i cant have expresso ......of course i always had a double.
shot those days are gone......

Vlada --- How are you doing? Hope all is well with you.......

By the way I am no longer wearing my jeans ....They do not fit right anymore.....I can close them but they are too snug for me...... I caved in and went shopping....Motherhood also i must look at old navy as i hear they have great prices i will let everyone know....... Hope everyone has a great day.......

Hi Lisa...

You weren't blabbing... I TOTALLY got your point... it's sort of sad the way life's realities defer and sometimes erase dreams... Your niece sounds very strong but so do you. I know many would consider me a strong woman. I did spend several years raising my son alone. I also bought a house on my own in that time - and another one (the first one turned out to be great investment - PTL!!!). I am still married though but it was the worst possible of scenarios and in some ways still is... My mom passed too - 5 years ago - so this is all bittersweet. My step-dad (really adoptive cause he did adopt me after some years being married to my mom) has a great girlfriend for the last 1 1/2 years and she did mention to him a year ago that her only regret was no children and that she was sad that he (my dad) had older grand-children because younger ones would be great!! Well, its a blessing for us all now!!! God really does have a way of reconciling, answering prayer when it all seems futile and blessing you with more than you could hope for or imagine.

I do get scared about these babies... like my bbs are a lot less sore today and that scared me... I did take extra B vitamins yesterday and I remember that I read somewhere that B vitamins reduce pregnancy symptoms. I am still pretty nauseous though but I can eat a little more variety (I got myself some sweet 'n sour chicken after church today - yum - but I doesn't taste like chicken... JUST SWEET!!!) I also stupidly read about the vanishing twin and THAT freaked me out too!!! What's wrong with me? I hate feeling sick but then when I feel it a teeny bit less sick I freak!!

I stopped at Babies R Us and got three really nice maternity tops (I have two pairs of black pants already) then went to Barnes and Noble and found and bought Dr. Luke's book - When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads. I will relax and read that this afternoon. OH - I also got the pregnancy pops at BRU and the lemon works the best - unfortunately you can only buy them in mixed flavor packages. I make ginger tea with fresh ginger root... that helps too...

Still having some mild cramping but I think its growing pains. I have b/w tomorrow and my next u/s is next Monday 9/24 so I have to wait until almost week 9 and then I think they will be releasing me to my ob/gyn... not sure though. I think I have to do the PIO until week 12 - not sure about that though either...

WHERE'S VLADA?!?!? HEY GIRL!!! I MISS YOU, I AM WORRIED ABOUT YOU!!! LET US KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON HONEY!!!

love to you all,

Cocoa
