Hi Shari

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I know there is still a chance but I really don't believe it anymore. I just don't feel pregnant at all. All of my symptons have disappeared - I am sure they were all in my head in the first place. I will keep on with the progesterone until AF arrives but don't really feel like it.

Hi Ros,
I'm very sorry to hear about the negative HPT. I've been there 4 times myself now(2 ivf & 2 fet). All I can say is that it hurts like hell, but it does get better with time. Again, I'm also sorry that your husband had to go away and I hope you have a good support system there with friends/family to help you get through this. I think you're very smart to keep up with the progesterone & do another test -you never know. You read about all kinds of things happening on this forum.
I am definitely to the point that I just want the suspense over with. I go first thing in the morning for my blood test. Last time they did not call with the results until 5pm! I know I can hang in there today but tom I will be a wreck.
Sharishu, I hope you're hanging in there too!

Hi everyone

Shari - thanks for your kind words. Try and keep the PMA going for a bit longer. I went on to the pregnant after treatment thread to see how many women had bleeding and still got a PMA. Loads so hang on in there.

Ros - there are also stories from lots of women who didn't have any symptoms and tested early and got a BFn and went on to get a BFP when they tested at the RIGHT TIME!!!!

You must be feeling very low with your DH going away for so long. Hang on in there.

Thanks everyone for your support - I do appreciate it. I do feel quite alone at the moment. Pretty bad timing for my DH to go away but at least we managed to get this IVF cycle in before he went away - at one point we didn't even know if that would work out!

I will be seeing him over the next 5 months - I am going out to see him once every 3 weeks so its not too bad. Only 2.5 weeks before my first trip - can't wait - I really need a break!!

When does everyone normally get their AF after an unsuccessful IVF attempt? It should be around the date of your test right? I don't feel like it is coming but would imagine it is on its way.

Good luck tomorrow Shari and 2nd timer.

Ros,
I've gotten my period 5-7 days after stopping all meds on my previous cycles. Some women have their periods that same day.

Thanks 2nd timer - by all meds do you mean the stimm meds that you finish before EC not the progesterone pessaries that i am on at the moment? I thought I had to stay on the pessaries until I got my AF?

Hey ladies,

Well, tomorrow is my test day. Good luck 2nd Timer and Ros (assuming that you're gonna test again). The spotting stopped for now and hope it stays that way! Ros- last IVF I began my period about 2 days before my test day. I guess everyone is different. I'm glad that you get to see your dh during these months. Do something fun together. 2nd timer- how you feeling today? LOADS of luck tomorrow, guys, and to all women who are on their 2ww.

Rest easy.

Hi Shari,
I'm feeling tired, achy, & nauseous today. I'm also very very sensitive to smells. I'm finding myself gagging a lot and actually vomited yesterday after lunch. I've never had this many pregnancy symptoms with an IVF cycle, so I'm not sure what's up. It could be good news, but I'm trying not to read too much into my symptoms. I think it's too soon for morning sickness so maybe I'm coming down with the flu. If I'm pregnant I'll be overjoyed, if I'm not I'll be heart broken but at least I can stop the progesterone and start feeling better. On previous cycles I was completely convinced that it worked & I was pregnant. So I think this time I'm trying to be a little more guarded, just for self protection.
I'm very glad that your spotting stopped. I look at the "pregnant after treatment" message board too(it gives me hope) Many, many women complain of spotting/outright bleeding and stay pregnant so don't lose hope.
Ros, I think you should call your clinic & ask about staying on the pessaries until you get AF. I've always been told to stop progesterone when I get a negative. So retake the test in the AM, hopefully you will get a huge life-changing surprise. But if not, give the clinic a call.

So just to confirm what I expected - my second HPT which I took this morning was negative. It is definitely all over for me - I will be starting again as soon as I can in the New Year. Good luck to 2nd timer and Sharishu!

Hi Ros, just wanted to say how sorry I am and that I completely understand what u are going through right now. I started bleeding heavily yesterday at work, so am not even going to bother with the test now. It's really tough, because this has never happened before, I've always managed to make it to the test date (which would have been tomorrow). Plus my hubby is away at the moment too. There may still be hope for you though as u haven't had your bloodwork done.
Good luck and don't give up, even if this one really hasn't worked x

Just wanted to share my good news to help me with the bad.

I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST today, at 38. Hey, if that's worked, the other stuff will too. Just the boost I needed to help me over Christmas. Way to go!!!!

Hi Ladies,
I leave to get my blood test in about an hour. I decided that I couldn't stand the wait until this evening to find out the results, so I decided to do a HPT when I first woke & then hide the test in a bathroom drawer. That way I could look at it when I got back from the MD office & wouldn't have to worry about driving to the office while I'm crying(I've had SO MANY negatives through the years). WELL... the test turned positive before I could even put it down!!!!! So now I'm feeling pretty good about the blood test.
Sharishu, GOOD LUCK!!!
Ros & Angela, please know my heart is with you two. This is my 3rd fresh IVF cycle & I've also had 2 FET's. Before that we've been TTC since roughly 2000. I married a man with male factor infertility who had a 5 year old daughter when I married him -go figure!
I'll let everyone know what my beta # is when I find out. Hopefully the blood test will confirm the HPT(I'm not that worried, but on the other hand I'll probably be worried for the next 40 weeks if all goes well!)
