Rhall00: Thursday's so soon!! How exciting! How many embryos are you planning to transfer?

Esperanza: Gotta love it when the nurses say, "It's a good thing." YAY!!! How are your studies coming along? I'm just taking two classes at the moment (trying to reduce stress here!), but I'm still so tired!

Dawn31 and Suzhan: Any word on when your treatments will start?

Neffi: Good luck on Wednesday! I'm glad you didn't have to wait too long for AF. But...I know that even waiting 2 days more than expected can seem like a lifetime!! I go back on Thursday for u/s and b/w. How about you? Will you go back three days later too?

Nicaliw: Thanks for keeping us all on track! I love seeing your ticker too---it's fun to see your count-down!

Things here are okay. I had a little "freak-out" last night when I was trying to give myself the Follistim injection. The media kept dripping out of the needle before and after I injected myself. Ugh. So...of course there's no way of knowing if I got the right dose. I got so upset because this happened to me last cycle too on the first night of stimming. Both times I was told it's a faulty cartridge (I picked up a new one this morning). But...I can't seem to stop worring that, since this cycle started the same way as my last one, this might mean cycle #2 will end the same way (cancelled). Okay, no more dark thoughts. I WILL make it to retrieval this time (please, please, please).

Hi, I'd like to join you ladies too. I just got my BFN from IVF #1 yesterday. I am back at work and feeling depressed. My RE says everything looked like it was going to work-good eggs, good fertilization, 2 good blasts transferred, but none to freeze. My DH thinks it didn't work b/c I was so stressed, not only about the cycle, but I got bad news that my mom has what can be a fatal connective tissue disease 2 days after the transfer. When my nurse called yesterday morning she said she was in shock it hadn't worked. So, I'm trying to stay positive and relax for the next cycle. Easier said than done! I too am going to try acupuncture. I have my first appt next Monday.

Hey ladies!

Well I went for my baseline this morning and I start stimming tonight! Yeah! Got AF yesterday and its completely gone this morning! Re said my lining is fine though..this BCP they have me on really make me AF nothing..last time I only spotted! Anyway...follistum starts tonight. So Rlk1 we will be close. Last cycle was 11 days til ER so Im planning on the 14th or 15th. I am so ready to do this again! I know its going to work this time!!!

I been out with my pregnant best friend today for a meal and ive enjoyed it to be frank. She has talked in front of me which she doesnt nornally do. My FET should be about 6 weeks from now because AF has come and gone so We.LL wait and see.

DrJen and Rhall...welcome! Rhall... wow... Thursday! Good luck! How many are you transferring??? My FET is March 19th. We're thawing 5 embryos in hopes to get 4 good ones.

DrJen... I'm sorry to hear about your BFN. I was VERY depressed for DAYS after my BFN in November. Eyes were swollen for a few days from all the crying, but we can't give up...it's just too soon! That was my first IVF, and my RE sounded surprised that it didn't work. I couldn't do another IVF right away due to work and decided to do another one this month. I also started acupuncture and hope that it helps in getting a BFP!! I feel more relaxed! Let me know what you think when you get started.

Rlk1-- what day of your cycle did you start your stimms?? I only spotted on monday, then a late monday night a qiuck rush of red blood...sorry TMI, yesterday..nothing. then this morning Af is here again...just spotting so far..but I feel like I may have started stimming to early. When did you get AF?? My 1st cycle was the same...but I only spotted..never really got AF, so its hard to tell which cycle day Im on. I guess the drs know what they are doing, and I guess the numbers they wanted cmae back from my bw yesterday...im just nervous...I really want it to work this time. Okay well I hope everyone has a good day!!!

Ann d- Congrats on starting you shots tonight! Isnt funny how we are excited to give ourselves injections!!!!!

Dawn-- Im glad to hear that you had a nice time with your preggo BFF. Mines is coming for dinner on friday...I think I'll be okay..but I never know...my emotions may take over! But I have known for a week now, it has sunk in, so I think I'll be fine.

Hi all!

Neffi: I swear this whole IVF thing messes with your head. It seems you're worried that you're only spotting, whereas I'm sitting here worried because AF is still pretty heavy for me. Ugh. To answer your questions, I got AF a few hours AFTER my lupron evaluation on Monday(after the u/s and b/w). I started stimming that night, so I guess that was day1 for me. I think AF is still heavy for me because my doses are so low (only 37 of Follistim and 37 of Menopur). I wouldn't worry about only spotting. In fact, at my clinic they don't even care if you get AF or not when you come in for the Lupron evaluation. I think the key indicators for starting stimming are low estrogen levels and a thin lining (more so than whether you have/get AF). I go back tomorrow for another u/s and b/w. You? When do you go back? The way I think about this whole thing (in an attempt to calm myself down), is that it's in the clinic's best interest to make sure that we have a positive outcome. It's bad for business when patients get BFNs (since most clinics post their results on SART). So...I try to tell myself that the decisions the clinic makes are in my (and their!) best interest.

Wow, sorry for that long post to Neffi! I'm sure everyone else is bored to tears!

Oh good Rlk1-- Im gald to hear that you started stimming early too! AF is heavier today...im on 200 follistum, which is less then they started me last cycle. I go in Friday...but just for bw...its weird..this cycle I am there a lot less, I guess cause they know how I responded last time. I think ER will be 14th or 15th we'll see. And they are not sure if they are going to do 3 or 5 day transfer this time. They usually always do 5 day blasts, but my embies didnt do too well last time, so maybe they'll do better int he uterus if they get in quicker. I really want to transfer three again. anyway...how is everyone else doing???? Hope you had a nice day!

Hi all - sorry I've been MIA - I'm a bit scared to even post much, but I did put a post over on the general forum. In a nutshell, I never saw AF....and got a bfp on an hpt. My 'official' blood beta has been delayed since we've been out of town for the last week, but we're finally back today, I got the blood draw done, and they will call to confirm things tomorrow. Since I've been through one m/c, I know that this is just the beginning and we've got a long road to go still, but I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic that I've got a strong little beanie settling in.

I'll get the results of my beta tomorrow and will let you all know.

Like I said, I'm still in shock since we tried 'naturally' for years before turning to IVF in 2006....so, I never really thought it was possible.

Suzhan: Oh my gosh!!! That's such great news!! I'm sure you're on pins and needles until tomorrows "official" call, but it sounds like a strong BFP. YAYYYY!!! I hear about that happening a lot---that some women who become pregnant through IVF are able to become pregnant naturally with subsequent pregnancies. Keep us posted!!

Boluwa2008: The more the merrier. We'd love for you to join us! There are a few girls on this thread who are having an FET around the date you are!

Neffi: Here we go!!! Looks like we're on this ride together, my friend! You'll have to tell me what your values are so that I can tell if I'm progressing the way I should be (if you want!)!

DrJen: How are you feeling these days? It sounds like you've been through so much recently. Is your mother feeling okay? I hope she isn't suffering. I'm thinking of you.

Rlk1-- hi my buudy! Today is day 3 of stimming...I already feel a little bloated! I only have bw tomorrow morning...(did I tell you that already?) Then Im sure I will have bw and u/s monday. We are going to be 2ww buddies!!! And then we can go through our pregnancy together! December babies...snow bunnies!!!! At least it will be early December...not right by Christmas! As you can see, I have high hopes for the cycle! Its GOING TO WORK!!! oh...I never am told my values? I guess I could ask!!

Ill be back on tomorrow and let everyone know if my meds change and how my bw went! I hate to drive 45 mins for bw! oh well gotta do whatcha gotta do!

I'm still trying to get caught up on everyone's stories and situations so for now, hello all!! I went in today and I have 2 little embies on board! I think the accupuncture after was by far the best part, soo relaxing. Hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there with all the shots!

Rhall00: I forgot that today was your FET!!! It sounds like it went really well--two little ones got transferred, huh? Were they blastocysts? Take it easy and pamper yourself during the excruciatingly long 2WW!!! Keep up posted!!

Neffi: I have to laugh, because I looked up that info too!! If our ER is on March 14, the baby will be due around Dec 5th. I'm trying to be positive too!!

Suzhan: I hope all went well with the test results today. We're all hoping that you got that official BFP!!

As for me, I think I have good results from today's b/w and u/s. Maybe you guys can tell me?!? After 3 days of stimming, my E2 rose to 102 (from 49.9 on Monday). I'm so relieved because last time (nasty cancelled cycle) my E2 was 312 after three days of stimming. I feel like this is a much better number. Anyway, I'm happy for now!! My next b/w and u/s is on Saturday--will fill you in then!

Thanks rlk1. I'm still sad, but trying to stay busy with work. I'm waiting for AF to start so I can start my count down for my April IVF cycle. My mom just started IVIG treatment today for her condition/disease. She is suffering with pain, severe itching, difficulty opening her mouth, hair loss, etc, etc. We are very hopeful this tx will relieve her symptoms. I am hoping for remission, as I really need her right now and once I have a baby!!! Not to mention for her own health and well being!

Suzhan, what exciting news. It's so wonderful to hear happy, successful stories. I'm trying to stay postive about my next cycle, but in the back of my mind I wonder if I can handle another BFN. You give hope to the situation!

boluwa--I will be thinking about you on March 14. I have a prayer for conception that I pray daily. I will include everyone on our thread. It can only help!

Neffi-my Dr will only transfer 2 embryos. What does your Dr rec? I noticed you had 3 transferred last time. I had 2 blasts transferred and got a BFN for my first cycle--very disappointing to say the least.

ann d.-thanks for the encouraging words! I would like to know more about why your RE was surprised that your first IVF didn't work, since mine was suprised too. I have been holding back tears at work. It's especially hard b/c I treat alot of children and individuals who keep having more and more children, but can't afford to care for them!!! It just adds to the difficulty of all of this when we all want just one child so badly.
I'll let you know about the acupuncture. My first appt is this coming Monday.

dawn-My best friend is pregnant as well. I spent the day before my BFN beta with her. She has a beautiful 2yr old daughter and is pregnant with her 2nd child. It all has come very easily for her of which I am quite envious. But, I value our friendship and do not want my envy and sadness to come between us. She is supportive of my situation and admits she cannot imagine what we go thru.

I have a good friend who lives across the country from me and has gone thru IVF 4x with donor eggs. It took 3 x to get pregnant with her first child and now she is pregnant again via IVF #4! She had words of wisdom which I have to remember when I get angry and jealous of pregnant women, "Remember, you don't want someone else's child, you want your own!" She has told me not to give up, as it wil happen.
