Tburks - So sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I'll keep you and your DH in my prayers. It has to be frustrating to delay your cycle but January will be here before you know it.

I just heard from my nurse and my estrogen levels went down so I can start stimming tonight. It was a nice surprise because during the ultrasound the doctor acted like the cyst was large enough that it would probably be delayed.

tburk-I am sorry about your father-in-law and I as well will keep you and DH in my prayers. On a good note I have a count down till Jan since that is when we are doing our FET. You and I only have 1 month and 1 week. That time is going to fly just you wait and see. Till then I will keep you and family in my prayers.

Annie973- I am glad to hear that you can begin stimming and that everything is going right on track. Keep us posted

I have a question--has anyone here done a FET? I am doing my first in Jan and I don't know what to expect.

Have a wonderful weekend

Hi BarbD, I have done 2 previous FETs. They are so much easier than a fresh cycle.

I know at my clinic, I started with an ultrasound and some bloodwork. I then have an estrogen shot every 4 days or so. I only have 1 or 2 appts before the actual transfer and then I start the progesterone shots a few days before the transfer. That's all there is.

It is much easier and a lot less monitoring, but the 2WW is just as stressful :-).

Will you be on the estrace tablets or estrogen injections?

Hi ladies - I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!

How is everyone doing with their stims? I believe a couple have started by now (Annie973 - I'm so happy to hear everything worked out in the end.) Looks like we have more stims starting next week with FET's right behind them! I am feeling really good about this month for all of us. Let's keep the PMA going strong and have lots of BFPs!

tburk - I am so sorry to hear about your FIL. My thoughts are with you and DH. It sounds like a very wise decision to postpone your cycle (although a disappointing decision). It gives me a lot of confidence that your RE suggested it. It shows that they are focusing on you and not the $$.

So, with all of us going through this cycle during the holiday season AND in this economy - what are some things people are going to do to remain relaxed and positive? I thought if we all shared something, it may help us to keep calm and hopeful over these next few weeks. Anyone??

Hi everyone - Just wanted to say hello. I finished up my BCP's and am currently on Lupron. I go in for my suppression check on Wednesday, 12/3. I should know by the end of Wed when I will be starting to stim. I am much more nervous this go around & really really really hope that IVF #2 works for DH and I....
Hope everyone is doing well!

Hello ladies!

I am crashing your thread to wish you all luck and give you some inspiration and hope.

It was one year ago the I was a newbie to these boards and joined the dec/jan 07 buddies. My beautiful daughter is now 3 months old. I remember being scared and emotional and excited all at once. I found this message board was one of the biggest helps when embarking on a journey I knew nothing about. I grew close and emotionally invested in the lives of my cycle buddies, and I am happy to report that most of them either already have a baby or are pregnant. I have followed their stories when I moved to the pregnant after treatment boards, and to my current thread at parents after treatment. so never lose hope...maybe being a dec/jan cycler is good luck.

I saw someone talking about books, and there was one book I found invaluable and read it from cover to cover during my cycle. It was called "In-vitro fertilization: the a.r.t. of making babies." It is on amazon.com for under $15 and got good reviews. It was clear and specific, and I knew it must have been good when I saw it sitting in my RE's office shelf.

I will try and check back on you ladies and see how everyone is doing and will pray for your bfp's. I can try to answer questions, I also went through ICSI like some others here due to male factor. If you need further inspiration, feel free to check out my daughters website. It is Ellamichele.shutterfly.com (type is just like that...no www in front). When I look at her, I know all the ivf crap I went through was well worth it. Enjoy your holidays, and just think, next year at this time, you may be enjoying these holidays for the first time with a miracle child, just like I am this year!

CT_Michelle - Thanks for dropping in! Your wisdom and advice is most welcome - so come back again (often!) :D

KMHTTC - Looks like we'll start stimming right about the same time. I had my baseline appt this morning. I'll know for sure the afternoon - but I should start micro-dose lupron Thursday with stims starting on Saturday (12/6).

How is everyone doing?

2nd u/s-b/w

Hi JennJenn - I can't say for sure I know what your numbers mean - but if those numbers are the size of your follicles on day 4 (measured in milimeters) then it looks like you are doing great! I think they want your lead follicle to get up around 20 (but don't quote me on this, it has been a while). It took me 10 days of stimming before I had follicles your size.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Annie973 - Try not to think about the needles too much. I know they aren't pleasant - but occupy your mind with all the good things that will come from using the needles (a baby for you!)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thank you CT_Michele for the words of inspiration and the advice on that book. I will have to look it up on Amazon.

KHMTTC... This is my 2nd IVF cycle, too. And at times I found myself nervous about things. I thought this would be easier mentally being I've gone through this before, but I find myself getting anxious, excited and then just plain nervous about my 2nd try. Let's hope and pray this time it works for us!!

sprouthaus... As for your question about what we're going to do to help relax during this holiday season, DH and I are trying to enjoy the time with family and friends and at least one trip to Disneyland! We have annual passes and love to just go there and enjoy the holiday spirit. It's beautifully decorated and everyone seems so happy. We don't go on too many rides since we go there often but we love to people watch!

As far as the needles, I'm really use to them. I'm actually thinking of becoming a phlebotomist b/c I'm getting really good at it. LOL! I am starting to feel a little "pressure" or cramp-like feelings though; and I can't remember if I felt like this during the first round which was over a year ago! Maybe it's the BCP?? Anyone feel this way during Lupron injections??

ann d - I don't remember feeling anything when on lupron. Do you have pressure in your abdomen?

Your plan to people watch at disney land sounds wonderful. What a cheery way to spend time during the holidays. :D I too am about to start my 2nd round of IVF. I was given the all-clear yesterday to start micro-dose lupron on Thursday and stims on Saturday. I too was really anxious and nervous during my 1st round of IVF and I am hoping for a different round this time!

Since my BFN in October, I have been doing acupuncture, yoga and meditation and those three things have really helped me with my mental and emotional state. So far, I am feeling none of the anxiety that I felt during my first round - but let's see how I'm feeling once I start stims and then in 2ww!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

Hi Ladies-
I was on the Oct/Nov/Dec board but there were only 4 stragglers in the Dec. portion and I see two of you moved over here - so HERE I AM! I was finally able to start Lupron 10units on 12/1 and will continue BCPs til next Sunday. I'm hoping to start Gonal-F 225 around 12/11 and (just guestimating here...) have ER/ET the week of Christmas!

Sprouthaus first of all thanks for keeping this board updated.

Secondly, you said it's going to be a "nutty holiday season" and I certainly agree since I'll be juggling work, ER, ET, and hosting Christmas dinner! Luckily my side of the family knows what we're going through so I told them they're "on standby" for actual dinner plans. :) And I"m usually a control freak about cooking e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g but this season I'm going to have to delegate people to bring certain things since I don't know how i"ll feel after ER.

JennJenn we were also on the Oct/Nov thread together. I can't believe your ER is a week away! Best of luck.

Annie973 you too! ER is so close you must have a hard time containing your excitement.

BarbD Howdy! Nice to see you here. :)

Everyone else - hope you had a good Thanksgiving and cycles are going as planned. I'm glad to be on this thread with people going through exactly what I am.
