Trigger was ok. I decided to do it myself because I don't like not being in control, so no matter how horrifying the needles are, I think I have to be the one injecting them forever... which is almost as long as I'm going to have to! I hadn't expected even bigger needles and more injections after the retrieval, but apparently there are more.
I'm keeping positive about getting good eggs tomorrow.
Sorry I have been so lax in doing this board - for some reason I was not getting email notificiation so I assumed the board had kind of died down - and I took a look today just in case - boy was I wrong!
To bring you all up to speed:
I had egg retrieval last Saturday. It went fine - except I was so sick afterwards and was really hurting for days. It was not until the last day or two that I feel normal again. They got 15 eggs, which we were over the moon about!
Out of the 15 eggs, 12 fertilized and they decided to go with a day 5 transfer. We just had the transfer yesterday, and today I am still on bed rest. We only transfered one embryo - it was Grade 1AA, so that was great news. We did IVF because we really didn't want any chance of multiples.
We will hear tomorrow or Saturday on how many they are going to freeze - the doctors said it will probably be 6 or so.
Now we are just waiting and waiting, although I plan to test myself after about 8 days - so just eight more days til we have some news, whether it be good or bad.
It sounds like the rest of you are getting on in your treatments. Best of luck and lots of baby dust!!
hopeful- i'm so glad everything went well. I started to worry about you! Everything sounds great with the news, so i'm so happy for you. I would totally test early too. just curious, why 6? Do they only pick the best ones? I will be in the same boat in a few days, so it's good to know.
Fitz- I'm so happy to hear that everything looks normal for you. It was probably very scary at the time.
I just got a call from my RE and they said that they will probably be looking at a day 5 transfer and all 11 embies are doing great! I'm very happy, but man it couldn't be worse for my work schedule.
Back at work today, it's crazy busy with registration for the new school year and everyone keeps telling me how busy it was yesterday and the day before and I feel so guilty.
hope today's retrievals are going well! I'm prayin for you guys!
JG - I don't know why the doctors mentioned freezing only 6 out of 12 embryos that are at blast stage, esp. since we only transferred one! I do know that the let the embryos go beyond Day 5 blastocyst stage to see if they 'self select' anymore, but you'd think if they were willing to keep them at the Day 5 mark, surely they are good enough to keep?
The doctor's are going to call us and let us know what they decided to do on Day 8 in terms of freezing. I'll keep you posted.
hopefu- so happy to hear you are doing well. i thought we had run you off!!! hang in there during your 2ww, it will all be worth it once you get your BFP!
jg- great news about the 5 day transfer!!! don't worry about work, it will all be there when you get back. you would have no problem covering for your coworkers if they were in the same boat. i'm sure that you've worked with people that you've had to fill in for them when they needed to be out to take care of issues with their kids. it's the same thing...
afm- had my ER yesterday. i was in so much pain, i could hardly walk. a lot of the pain turned out to be gas, but i'm still very sore. they got 26 eggs, 22 were mature, and 18 fertilized! i'm happy about that, but still nervous about ET. we decided to transfer 2.
mjay: Wow thats a great amount of eggs. I was in a little pain after and it was gas. I transfered 2 embryos on day 3. ET wasnt bad at all. I didnt feel a thing. GL with ET you will do fine.

Ladybug - I think we are both post transfer right now. I am at 4DPT, if you count the day after the transfer as Day 1. How are you feeling? Are you on progesterone? Shots or suppositories?
I'm on the suppoitories. Have you had any symptoms? I feel so very tired, my nipples are killing me, and I have some light cramping but I hear that is all normal for the progesterone. Anyway, just curious to see how you are feeling as well! The wait is torture for me! Are you planning on testing earlier than the beta? Sorry for all the questions!
I had my progesterone level today and it was 22.2 and the dr said thats great and likes it over 15.
Hopeful: No problem about the questions I love asking and answering. I am 6dpt, I have a tiny bit of cramping also and pray its not AF. My breast and nipples are killing me and the weirdest thing is I have the craziest long dreams almost everynight. I usually forget my dreams but its like I remember them now. I dont know if thats a sign of anything, progesterone or pregnancy. I went on progesterone suppositories for like a day and then the pharmacy was giving me problems so I didnt have enough lastnight so I did the shot again. I think im just going to stick it out with the shots. They arent to bad but my butt needed a break. I am tired as well very often. I admit I cheated and tested on yesturday even though I knew it was way to early and just wanted to satisfy myself and of course it was negative but I knew that so im not upset but no more HPT lol, My beta is mon, I pray all goes well. This is torture for me to. The days are dragging by so slow and im googling everything and just bored out of my mind. I took off from work to relax a little. Keep me posted. We can get through this together. I check this thing all day so i'm here
GL and take care

Hi Ladies,
Well, i'm officially post transfer now too. I had mine this morning. I had 2 grade 4AA 5 day blasts transferred and they're freezing the remainder tomorrow. The embryologist said that they were like a scientsts dream! I have my first beta on 9/2, so 9 days. It's going to be a long 9 days! Anyway, the transfer went well.
mjay- that is a great number of eggs! Any word on the transfer day?
fitz- you are getting there! I was pretty restless at your stage too, but Thurs/Fri will be here before you know it. My advice to you is to use your energy while you can. I can't lift anything over 15 lbs for the next two weeks and I am now pretty surprised at how much I cannot do!
ladybug- glad to hear your transfer and everything went well! Is your first beta next Monday then?
jg- is your beta less than 2 weeks b/c you did a 5 day transfer? i hope they do that at my clinic as well b/c mine is a 5 day on wednesday. stay distracted, 9/2 will be here before you know it.
mjay- I think so. I was actually pretty surprised when they told me that today because when I was going through protocol with them in the very beginning of the IVF process, they said 2 weeks. If I had to wait that long though, i'd POAS for sure. Ghost mentioned in another thread that 8dp5dt is an okay time to test with a little over 50% accuracy. I hope your clinic is the same way too. Good news with the 5 day transfer. I'm sure your embies will be in great shape!
Can you tell I'm on bedrest. I'm just sitting here on my laptop watching Bridezillas! Thank goodness for DVR!
RE appt tomorrow hope to get def answer w/ when ET, cant wait!! Evenings i seem very tired and my back and sides hurt, but almost over!!! By RE office does assistive hatching for all patients- anyone else have assitive hatching!

fitz- no assisted hatching for me. If it was day 3 transfer they would have, but day 5, the membrane is super thin and they don't need to. One less thing I have to pay for, I guess!
fitz- no assisting hatching for me and I had a day 3 transfer.
JG_379: yaayyyy your finally on your 2ww. My preg test is on the 31st so I think thats when they give me my 1st beta. I hope so I cant wait and Im so excited. 7more days
