Well you guys all asked for it, so here's the latest installment of nursery photos!

Our bassinet - I've left the plastic on the mattress so it doesn't get dusty before bubs gets here, and we'll move it into our room to start with.
nursery4.JPG
The cot with my new favorite cot set in it. I bought this one off ebay for $36 which I am pretty happy with since it is $180.00 in the shops and it's in near new condition. I still don't have a mattress in the cot, so haven't bothered really making the bed properly. I'm also going to get it all dry cleaned first.
nursery5.JPG
One of two new canvas prints for the wall. I can only add three attachments per post, so you'll have to wait for the other pic!
nursery6.JPG
So now it's everyone else's turn to share!

I can't wait until Christmas. As I work at a university, it closes down from before Christmas and into the New Year which means I get 2 weeks off without having to take any of my holiday leave! Yay! I also can't help but think time will fly after that because work will be really busy and it will be time to take maternity leave before I know it!

Oh Kizmet! Your nursery is so cute! What a great deal on your bedding for the crib. I guess if I dont get any bedding from my shower I might go that route too. I guess I better remember to bring my camera to work tomorrow so I can share my nursery too.

Kizmet- Congrats on your half way mark as well. I feel the 2nd trimester is definitely flying by. Your nursery looks so inviting and cozy, I'm sure the baby will enjoy spending most of his time in there. I'm excited about the 2 week break as well. FIrst thing I'm going to do is paint the nursery. I'm getting alot of furniture online so I'll be ordering this week or next week so I can be home when it arrives, so excited.

AFM- Went to the Dr. yesterday for a follow up and everything looks great. I was suprised the babies are exactly where they need to be, as far as how old they are. They're usually 2-4 days behind, but I guess they caught up last week. They were 16w 1d and they should've been 16w on Monday. They said they aren't measuring their length anymore, just their weight. How do they measure you'll?

Finally Friday, so thought I'd post one more before the weekend. I hope everyone has a safe and fab pre-Christmas weekend!

2Buns - my last ultrasound at 19 weeks they still measured Bubs - head and abdominal circumferences, crown to rump and crown to toes (but only because he/she was lying stretched out).

Hopeforbabies - Still waiting on your nursery pics! :D

AFM - Two big milestones this week - I'm pretty sure I'm feeling movement now. It's kind of like little bubbles popping in my belly. The other is I had a few days of feeling WELL! That was awesome! So maybe I'll be waving the MS goodbye soon! I certainly hope so!

And even though you guys don't know him, I really want to give my DH a big wrap for being such a sweetheart during this whole experience. He really is such a wonderful guy. He makes me feel good when I feel horrible (like last night when we went out for a work dinner and all I could fit into was an old pair of 3/4 length pants and a maternity top someone gave me made out of grandma material that I hated, and he walked in and straight away told me how good I looked) and he's fussing about me getting enough rest after work and before dinner every night. He shares the washing and the housework. He does the dishes because he knows it makes me throw up at the moment. He buys dinner when I don't feel up to cooking. He laughs at me when I'm being moody and stupid and makes me see how silly I am being. He indulges me when I'm demanding and he listens when I talk about things that worry me and comes up with solutions. I just love him!

Kizmet- Oh your DH sounds so sweet. I love when I hear about men that treat them like the queens they are especially when they are pregnant. So many men seem oblivious to how to pamper their wives and be involved with the pregnancy. Your DH knows how special you and the baby are and I'm glad he knows how to be there for you when you need him! :D

AFM- Yes nursery pictures! I really need to get those on here don't I? Did you just hook your camera up to the computer and attach them or did you go the website (can't think of name) to make them smaller like so many ladies do to put pictures in their signature line?

Hope - I just downloaded to pics off the camera, compressed them with the office photo software and uploaded them as an attachment on here.

How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was so-so. I spent all of Saturday baking cookies for Christmas presents, which made me feel incredibly sick from all the sweet smells! Sunday I barely got out of bed. DH had to move some horses between our farms, so he snuck out of bed early and left me there - so I didn't wake up til 10.30am, had a shower, watched about 20 minutes of a DVD that I had slept through the previous night before falling asleep again for a couple of hours, got up did about an hour of housework, lay down again and woke up two hours later! I still just feel so sickly and the slightest bad smell sends me running to the bathroom. :( I'm still waiting for the 2nd Trimester glow to arrive!

Kizmet- I feel so bad that your ms is still bothering you so much. :( I know some women have it their whole pregnancy and I'm really hoping you aren't in that group. On the other hand getting to sleep so much sounds wonderful. I think you should enjoy as much of that as you can before the baby comes because you know you'll never sleep again after that.

I just wanted to wish all of those who celebrate a very Merry Christmas. I probably won't be back on until the end of next week. At least then I'll have some fresh (and exciting) news to share with you when we find out what we are having. Take care!

Hi ladies! I hope everyone had a good Christmas holiday if you celebrated and I wish you all a very happy New Year. Josh and I found out today that we are expecting a baby boy! We've decided on the name Liam Scott (Liam means unwaivering protector). Dr. said the baby is looking really good (already 9 1/2 oz!) and that I also have an anterior placenta which is probably why I haven't felt the baby move yet. I go in today to have my blood pressure check at the OB office to make sure it isn't rising to much. I am going to attempt to add some of my nursery pictures here so hopefully they come through and look ok.

Hope everyone had a restful holdiay:)

Hopeforbabies-YAY!! Congrats and welcome to the blue team! I know how exciting it is when you first find out. Your nursery looks so good and it looks like you have alot of space to work with, lucky. I also like the jungle theme as well. Liam is a beautiful name and it sounds like he's very healthy. Hopefully you'll be able to feel him moving around in there pretty soon. For some reason I haven't been able to feel the babies move for the past 2 weeks, but I went to the Dr. this past Monday and they're both moving away, who knows?

AFM- I've been getting a ton of braxton hicks lately, is anyone else having this problem? I'll get them every 5 to 10 minutes and they'll last around 15 seconds. It's just annoying feeling my stomach tighten so often, I feel them more when I'm on my back. I got my triple screen test results back this past Monday and everything came back negative, so that's a relief. I also have an anatomy scan this Tuesday, and hopefully it'll last long so I'll get to see the babies for a long time. I've grown so much in the past 2 weeks, I look about 7 months pregnant. It's getting hard for me to walk around for a long period of time because I start getting really hot, out of breath, and my lower back aches. I can't imagine how I'm going to feel in the next 3 months. I was wondering how everyone is doing with their eating habits? I feel like I'm eating really unhealthy because when I get hungry I'm starving and I basically eat whatever is in sight, I've also been craving alot of greasy food. I haven't been able to eat alot of meat and veggies because I ate them so much after doing IVF, the thought of it now just makes me sick. Now I'm starting to worry the babies aren't getting the nutrients they need. It's also hard eating several times a day when I'm at work, maybe we could share snack and meal time ideas we've been using. ASM, everyday for breakfast I make a fruit cup of starwberries, bananas, pineapple, and oranges along with a bowl of whole grain cereal and yogurt, just to get the fruits, grains, and milk out of the way. I've been eating alot of beans since meat hasn't been settling with me lately. I'm thinking I'm also going to start making a vegetable bag to snack on throughout the day. Maybe some baby carrots and chopped celery in a zip-lock bag. Other than that, the rest of my food intake is whatever I feel like at the time, 80% of it isn't healthy. I'm worried it's going to catch up to me sooner or later.
Over the holidays we worked on the nursery, so I'm going to try to attach some pics. We had to send the cribs back because they weren't the white I wanted, I accidently ordered the wrong cribs, oops:( We're getting a completely different style but you can see the bedspread we chose.

WOW! Sorry about the size.

Kizmet- I meant to mention what helps me with my MS, pickles and lemon. For the 1st 3 months I lived off of lemon heads, they saved me.

2buns- Oh your nursery is really cute! I love that you have a little table and chairs for them to sit at when their older. That will be great for arts/crafts. Sorry you ended up with the wrong cribs and hopefully the right ones will come soon. The blue color you picked out is very nice and will help them sleep since blue is suppose to be relaxing.

As for diet/nutrition it sounds like you start your day with a good solid breakfast (the most important meal of the day). I usually do yogurt or cottage cheese, a piece of fruit or fruit salad, OJ (get the calcium fortified kind), and either whole wheat toast or a whole wheat Eggo. For morning snack I will do a mixed veggie bag (get the party platters to save on prep work) and eat that with a little ranch dip. Lunch is usual either fast food (see we all fall down sometimes), Health Choice TV dinner, or a sandwich of some kind. Afternoon snack would either be walnut/almonds with dried fruit or crackers and cheese. Dinner varies but I usually try to have veggie, meat, starch and always a glass of milk. Don't forget your multi vitamin and that will help cover you!

Kizmet- How are you feeling? I hope that rotten M/S eased up a little. So you said you started feeling your baby move around 22weeks? Well I hope I feel them that soon to since we both have anterior placentas. Any news?

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing GREAT!

AFM- Well I guess not eating as much meat caught up to me. My Dr. called me Monday to tell me I'm anemic so they put me on Corvita 150, they said it's normal for twin pregnancies. On Tuesday, I had a Dr.s appointment and they found blood in my urine. They said it could be a bladder or kidney infection but I'm not going to find out for a couple of days. My Dr. went ahead and put me on bladder infection medicine just in case I have one. I've had many bladder infections throughout my life and it doesn't feel like this is what I have, so who knows? Hopefully they'll call me before the weekend so I won't have to worry about it any more than I already am. Other than that, the babies are doing wonderful. Monday I turned 19 weeks, and on Tuesday Phoequin measured at 19w5d/11 ounces, while Isaiah measured at 19w2d/10 ounces. I had an anatomy scan done so I was able to enjoy seeing them move around for about 25/30 minutes. My fluid was at 15 and cervix length at 3.4 which is relieving. My Dr. said he'll probably put me on bedrest around 28 weeks and I'm kind of hoping it comes sooner than later. I came back to school Monday and it's extremely hard keeping up with my 5th graders.

Hope- I told my Dr. that I stopped feeling my babies a couple of weeks ago and he said I have an anterior placenta as well. I have no idea what that means, I need to google it. I guess the fluttering I was feeling a while back must have been gas:( I hope we get to feel something soon.

2buns- Oh no I hope you don't have a bladder infection! I'm glad your Dr. put you on meds just in case. I've heard that anemia is pretty common in pregnancy and I bet it is more so with twins because you have two babies taking all your nutrients! I read that raisins, dates, prunes, and brocili are high in iron. Also you should take your iron pill with orange juice as vitamin C helps your body absorb the iron better. As for having an anterior placenta that mean that instead of your placenta being posterior (attaching towards the back of the uterus near your spine) it attached in the front (near your belly button). Since that is more "material" it means that we feel that baby kick later then someone who has a posterior placenta. So instead of 18-22 weeks to feel the baby we may be looking at 22-26 weeks. Its a bummer because I know Liam is very active in there but I just can't feel him. :(

I like your boy's names and I can't believe they are so big! I thought twins were usually smaller then singletons. Liam was measuring a little a head of schedule last week but your boys sound like they have some growth up on him. I'm glad you are looking foward to the bedrest. Do you know if it will be motified or not? I hope you are reading up on things to keep you occuppied as I've heard of people getting pretty bored on bedrest. But, I know I will do it too if I had to keep Liam healthy and growing.

Kizmet- Come out come out where ever you are! Hope everything is ok with you. Is the farm renovations keeping you busy?

Hope-Thanks for the helpful tips. Ya, the babies are right on target, same as singletons. Their in their own placenta and their own sac, so they have their own feeding tube, which is a very good thing, less to worry about. About the bedrest, I know I'm wishing for it now, but will be regreting it later. I haven't started figuring out exactly what I'm going to do, but I need to soon.

I hope you ladies have a GREAT weekend. :D Rest, Rest, Rest, Plan, Plan, Plan

Good Morning All! I'M BAAAACK!

I had between Christmas and Jan 9 off work and since my home computer is driving me nuts (I need to get it fixed) I just haven't been online. Your nurseries look AWESOME. I love the green, blue and colourful square walls! Interesting that all of us have anterior placentas and I thought they were supposed to be relatively uncommon!

MS is still coming and going. I haven't thrown up since Jan 2, but still get nauseous.

As far as diet goes - mine was pretty ordinary for a while there - I started out good, lost it in the middle when the MS was bad and back on track again now. Breakfast is usually 2 slices of wholegrain toast and maybe an omega 3 enriched boiled egg. Morning tea is a muesli bar, fruit bar or piece of fruit. Lunch has been raspberries, blackberries and strawberries with stewed peaches or apricots. More fruit and maybe another egg for afternoon tea. Dinner is whatever - steak and veg, chops, chicken - whatever I can be bothered cooking, usually followed by more berries and cream. I try and have a glass of milk and a piece of cheese at some point during the day but for whatever reason dairy no longer agrees with me at all and just makes me feel really sick for 3 or 4 hours afterwards, so I decided last week to give up trying and speak to the DR. this week and see if she thinks I should go on a calcium supplement. I'm taking a prenatal supplement, vitamin D and omega 3 oil each night before bed. I also drink as much water as I can and a little bit of juice each day.

2buns - I hope the bladder infection gets sorted out. I had one (apparently - no symptoms) before Christmas which really upset me. I had to go in for a BP check on the 15th Dec and they did a urine check as well, sent that off to pathology and rang on the Friday to say I needed to come in and get antibiotics for an infection. I wasn't thrilled as they make me sick but of course did as I was told. Then on the Tuesday before Christmas I had an OB appointment and asked him for a pathology slip so I could check that the ABs had done their job and he took a look at the previous pathology results and said to stop the ABs because someone had made a mistake and I didn't have a UTI in the first place! I was pretty happy with that, so stopped them straight away, only to receive ANOTHER phone call from the hospital on the Christmas Eve to check that I was still taking the ABs and that I was feeling OK. Seriously, WHAT? I burst into tears on the phone and went into total meltdown! Couldn't these people get anything right??? I went to town on the DR. that rang me because I really feel as though they seem to be getting things constantly wrong. Poor girl was just an intern I think, so I demanded that my OB ring me with the CORRECT results this time. So he rang, all apologetic and said yes, I did need to finish the ABs. So I'd just gotten over the stomach upset and thrush (TMI??? :D ) from the first attempt, only to start all over again the day before Christmas!

BP has been fine and so I no longer have to go into the clinic weekly for checks and have a five week break from the OB before my next appointment with him. I have a 28 week ultrasound on 4 Feb and an endo appointment this wednesday. The bean is kicking me regularly now - 10.30am and pm - you could set your watch by it! I get other random kicks during the day but the 10.30 ones are regular, active and full on. DH can feel them on the outside of my belly sometimes too now.

I hope everyone had a fab holiday.

PS. I love everyone's name choices! We're still going with Lachlan James for a boy and still undecided for a girl - we both like Chelsea at the moment.
