klinger13 wrote:Hi ladies! Ok, I got really lazy and copied most of this from what I posted on the Fall Cycle Group so forgive my laziness. Our one little bean grew a lot in the last week. It's now measuring 7w5d (and I'm 7w6d) so it gained a few days there. Heartbeat was 167 bpm and we could see little limb buds starting! It was amazing. DH & I were just awestruck and on the verge of tears. The second sac is still growing (a week behind) and it's still empty. So eventually it will realize there's no baby inside and my body should reabsorb it. Then the RE said that was our last visit with them and when we said our goodbye's and thank you's I burst out crying. The doc I saw tonight was the doc who did my emergency surgery in August and was able to save my last ovary. So if he hadn't been able to get that damn tube off of the ovary then, we wouldn't have been doing IVF at all. I'm so glad he was the doc we got to see for our last (and wonderful) appointment!

Hi Ladies,

Went to my OB yesterday b/c of all of the issues. Got to see the babies and heard their little hearts beating and watched them moving around. They sure have grown in a week. My OB seemed like a diffrent doctor yesterday, was really sympathetic. I will be resting until the bleeding stops. 6 more days until my Nuchal Scan, will try to post pics then. Hope you all have a great weekend.

I am sorry for being so late. I have never been so tired in my whole entire life. It's all I can do to get through a workday.. much less make dinner or update anything online!

Gina so glad the twins are doing well!! Good luck with your scan - what made you decide to get it? I am thinking of just opting for the blood tests - my clinic said I am a a very low risk....

Amanada; How awesome that bebe is catching up!! I imagine your body has to divide things even in the early stages so perhaps that's why he was a lil' behind? I'm sorry about the other potential baby... but... with the cervix...

Karen - can't wait for you to post a photo! I have the ultrasound pic from my transfer - the moment baby was reintroduced to me.... and I will be putting it into the baby scrapbook for sure. Time crawls between those first appointments, but don't worry - it gets easier as the good news piles up.

Sonya - LOVE the pic!!! Hang in there, momma!

Gina - That's great that your dr has a new tune, maybe (s)he went home and thought about what a jerk they sounded like... So happy to hear the little ones are doing great! I hope that darn bleeding subsides soon, so you can get to enjoy your pregnancy.

Karen - Yay for the healthy bean!!!

Amanda - Too funny about the blueberries! I can (sort of) relate. Words escape me and sometimes I just forget how to spell regular words. "Whatchamacallit" is my most used phrase these days.

afm - I broke down and called the doctor's office this afternoon. They sent a prescription for Zofran in to my pharmacy. I really tried to tough it out, but it seems to be getting worse. I can't even function in my day. Just getting up and walking into the kitchen to get a glass of water makes me feel like I'm gonna pass out. I'm hoping my iron levels are okay... Anyways, I hope this medicine does the trick.

Klinger and Sonya: Great pics of your little gummy bears!

Karen: I'm looking forward to your photo... I know how it is, once I see the baby on the screen, all other thoughts and things that I want to remember fly right out of my brain. I keep leaving the doctor without knowing what the heart rate is. They should have an extra pic for you... My RE seemed to keep more copies than they gave me.

Stephanie: Sorry to hear that you've got nausea. I've had it really rough too. At times, I have to vomit into a trash can at work - right in the middle of a conversation (how lovely and dignified). The good news is that it's starting to slow down for me in Week 10 and maybe it will soon for you too. I cannot say enough good things about cheapy popsicles; they really help with nausea.

ATF: I graduated the RE and am waiting for my referral to the OB to come in the mail so that I can make an appointment (military medical insurance). I'm looking forward to my first OB appointment and really hope that they do a scan so we can sneak another peek at the baby.

So awesome you are feeling better!!

How are you guys feeling? I'm just tired and hungry, but if I didn't see the ultrasound I wouldn't think I was pregnant! I need to either start showing or something? LOL

I have my first pregnancy bloodwork booked for the 16th of the month, which makes it seem a bit more real. I'm seeing a doctor on Monday to discuss the first trimester testing, but my own doctor doesn't get home until the 29th..... it's kind of confusing..

How's everyone feeling, though? Really? Rundown on symptoms.. emotions?

Sonya - I'm feeling fine! Hungry and really want a nap in the afternoon but that's it - funny how we have the same two symptoms. :D If I hadn't had the u/s & b/w, I would never even guess that I was pregnant.

AFM, went and got my flu shot yesterday. I think I've only had the flu once in the last 20 years, but I'm certainly not going to take a chance of getting it while pregnant. I'm now going to see the MFM (that cervix specialist I saw) for my OB care & my surgery for my transabdominal cerclage (TAC). The OB I saw on Wednesday was terrible and when the MFM offered to have me come to him for my OB care I jumped at the chance. So I go for a check-up and u/s with him to check on the lil one on 12/16. On 12/27 I have my first trimester screening and my TAC surgery should be 1/3. The MFM said we'd probably have a 90% chance of my cervix being ok if we did nothing, but I'm starting with a cervical length of between 2-2.5 cm (normal is 3-4) and really have no lower portion of cervix that could be stitched if a rescue cerclage was required. It's scary to think what would happen if it shortened anymore than it already is. So DH & I decided to go with the TAC. I'm nervous about having surgery while pregnant, but we just feel like we need to do everything we can to make sure this baby stays in until it's really time to come out. Other than that, I can stop my progesterone suppositories and estradiol tablets on the 16th - YAY! That will save me $100/wk and maybe I can put the pantiliners away for awhile.

Hi Everyone!

Stephanie: So glad you're feeling better with the Zofran. You might have dizziness b/c of low B/P due to not being able to eat for so long. Drink lots of fluids, hopefully that will help a bit!

Klinger and Sonya great pics!

Karen glad your u/s went well!

I am doing better, for now the bleeding is almost gone. I just wish the all day sickness would go with it. Only 3 more days until my next U/S, I'm going to take my 10 y/o daughter with me since my DH is unable to go. She is so excited!!!
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Amanda; I have always been against getting a flu shot myself but I am asking my doctor about it on monday... there's a lot more at risk than myself at this point. I would also be a bit scared about surgery when pregnant, but you need to do all you can to make sure you and baby are safe for these next 6.5 months. 90% is a good chance, but I know how worried we are as ART moms and I support you doing all you can do!

I am nervous about stoping the progesterone but also looking forward to it a LOT. My doc said stop between 9.5 and 10 weeks but I'm still taking it until 10 weeks. I am also so tired of the pantyliners and muss!.

It is funny that we only have hunger and tiredness! LOL

Gina I'm so glad the bleeding has almost stopped - that would just be very unnerving! I haven't had as much as a spot this entire time and have finally stopped dreading going pee. I even was turning on the light in the bathroom at night to check for a few weeks. Ugh. I took my mom to my last ultrasound - she's a matriarch of over 50 kids, grand kids and great grand kids and has never seen an ultrasound - she thought it was really amazing and got a little emotional. awww..

Horrible: Nausea, vomiting, exhaustion, insomnia, ligament pain (just started), dry nipples (seriously, what the hell?), emotional as all hell (crying over things that are "so beautiful").

On flu shots: I've been trying to get one... The military won't give me one until I get a note from my OB which I don't have yet. Even the drug store won't give me one before 12 weeks without contact from an OB (due to "risks"). I really want a flu shot but it looks like I'll have to wait.

Hmm...that is so weird! My hubby's military too but I have my own insurance through work so I have tricare standard as a secondary. After hearing about so many delays with waiting for military care, I'm glad I don't have to deal with that hassle...I'm sorry you DO have to deal with it though! Anyways, I ended up just going to the Minute Clinic at the CVS. I told them I was 8 weeks pregnant and needed a flu shot and that was that. It was covered under my insurance but I think if it's not or you just want to do it outside of your insurance it's $30. I asked my doc if I should wait until after the first trimester, but they said no, the sooner the better. Hope you can get one soon!
