Blair: The girls are BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks for sharing the sweet photos!! Sorry about all the specialists, but glad Harper is getting all the attention she needs.

Rebecca: You poor dear! How terribly frightening and stressful. You are a WONDERFUL mother, don't listen to that person. Some folks are always judgmental--I am just sorry that it was someone close to you. It probably has something to do with unresolved guilt that she has over something and instead she is misdirecting it at you. Really. Nonetheless, I am sorry you had to hear that comment. It was so good that you followed your concern and got it checked out. You are being SUPER MOM managing both babies' needs. Hang in there. Keep us updated when you can. I will say a prayer for little Mateo.

Wishing: I am sure your life is topsy turvy right now! Hope all is going well with you and the babies! If you need any guidance regarding NICU, many of us here have been through it. Can't wait to see photos of your gorgeous babies.

Margi- Yes, we do venture out. I have been taking them out since they were 6wks old. They will be 10wks on Tues. I am the type that likes to be on the go, so I try not to let them slow me down. For grocery shopping, Target, etc I put one carseat on top in the "little seat" area, and I sit the other carseat actually in the basket and put my items around them or on the bottom. Sometimes when leaving the grocery store I actually have to use a 2nd cart to get my bags to the car, but the bag boys will actually follow me out and assist. Then for other places I use the stroller. I have a carrier to wear, but havent had to use it yet.

I am getting closer to returning back to work. I go back on April 2nd :(. The good news is that I was offered a promotion and the flexiblity to change my hrs from 3 12hr days to either 4 10's or 5 8's. The bad news is that my mother in law is going to babysit for me while i work and I dont think she can handle more than 3 days a week. So I will probably take the promotion, but work my 12hr days from 7am - 7pm. I just really hate that I wont get home til 730ish. But the good part is that I am off Thurs - Sun.

The twins have their 2 month check up tomorrow. I am very interested in knowing their weight. I think Ethan probably outweighs his sister by at least 2 pounds... He is sooooo heavy! At their one month there was only a 1/2 pound difference, but I know he has pulled ahead now.

I am going to try to post a pic, Im not sure how to use photobucket, so I will try to resize it.

Dallas- Love the pics!!! They are getting so big already! I think we have the same set of the onesies that Avery has on. We actually got some 0-3, and 2x 3-6mth all as gifts! I guess they were a popular choice at Target. Cant wait to hear how big they are now!

Oh all the babies are just gorgeous! I had to come on and vent to some ladies that would understand. I had a baby shower today for a friend that got pregnant the month she came off bc. She's a miserable pregnant person and is 35 weeks now with a baby girl. She actually said to me today: "You're so lucky you had the twins early. You didn't have to go through the discomfort of the end of pregnancy." I was quite taken aback and I'm still fuming!

Ryann- I agree with you 100% and would have been fuming!!! I have a girl I used to work with pregnant w/ a baby girl and 35 wks...all she says on Facebook is how much she is over being pregnant. People don't understand how lucky they are just to be pregnant, especially with a healthy baby. I would have stayed in the hospital another 60 days if I could have avoided delivering early.

Dallas: What sweeties!! Great photos, thanks for sharing! :D

Ryann: Really? I completely understand your "fuming"! I would have been speechless. I don't even know where to begin with the problem with that comment--although Blair, you made a good start! Sheesh. Yea, I am so glad I didn't get to gain those few extra pounds and have to be pregnant another 7 weeks  ,.....no big deal, eh? Pre-eclampsia, lower birthweight babies, 2+weeks in NICU, apnea monitor to take home, "LUCKY" ME!!! Goodness gracious. Blair--exactly! What we would have "given" to be able to make it to full term if possible....that woman has NO idea.

Blair and Margi-Thanks for understanding. All I could do was cry as I thought back to what I would have given to keep them in longer. And do people forget that there were TWO in there??? I was measuring 50 weeks when I delivered, so that discomfort she speaks of? Yea, felt it for weeks. I showed her the picture I took of my discharge papers where the box was checked next to "mom released healthy without baby" and told her she does NOT want that. Cherish your last 5 weeks chick!

Need some advice, maybe someone has had this dilema.
It has come time for us to pay our storage fee for our embryo at the fertility clinic. I am torn about whether or not to keep it stored. We only have one embryo left. I have heard that the odds it will make it through the thaw are only 50%. It is my understanding that you have to go through the whole med process and be ready for transfer before its even thawed. Therefore, you may have spent alot of money and time on meds that gets wasted if the embryo doesnt make it.

My hubby thinks we have the perfect family now since we were blessed with boy/girl twins. I wonder if we have a 3rd will that one be "the oddball" because they arent a twin. We are leaning towards not keeping it and if I happen to get pregnant then it was meant to be and we will go with that, but not try to get pregnant on purpose. Keep in mind we used donor eggs.

Any thoughts??

Dallas, you'll want to confirm the odds with your clinic because it depends on the freezing process. If they used a newer process called vitrification, the survival rate is about 98%. My first clinic didn't use that though and I think the survival rates were higher than 50%. And yes, you do have to do all the drugs first - it would be very similar to your donor egg cycle. It's always a gamble - I guess it just depends on how much you may want that 3rd child. FWIW, I have a 3yo DD and am also pregnant with twins and have worried about the relationship as well. The way I see it, the twins will surely have a special relationship but they will each have a special relationship with their older sister as well.

In any case, if you're not sure I'd pony up the storage fee until you are sure.

Hello everyone! You all have such gorgeous babies!!! I have to figure out how to post pictures so that I can share my cuties!

Ryann- I feel like I hear pregnant women complain all the time, and it makes me so mad! I cried when my water broke because I wanted to keep them in longer! I would have stood on my head for 2 weeks if it meant keeping them in! I was measuring way ahead too, and was miserably swollen. Oh well...some people just don't get it.

Dallas- I agree about asking about success rates. My clinic uses vitrification, and successful thaw rates are >90%.

AFM- Life has been crazy with babies in the NICU. Despite the fact that Lila was SGA, she came home yesterday, and is doing great! Eric is still in the progressive care unit because he just won't take a bottle consistently. They call it wimpy white male syndrome...apparently white boys are not good at getting the hang of eating. Has anyone else had this experience? I'm trying hard to figure out how to see him and take care of Lila. I know some of you had babies come home at different times. How did you handle it? I spent every day at the NICU when they were there. I haven't been today, and I miss my little man! My mother-in-law spent the day with him so that he would have some love. I plan to go tomorrow, but I won't be able to stay for long.

Margi- Here is my info... The babies were born at 34 weeks, 3 days. They are fraternal b/g. Lila was 3lbs 12oz, Eric was 4lbs 13oz. My complications were GD and preeclampsia. Lila was in the NICU for 13 days...Eric is still there. I plan to go back to work in 10 weeks...which will be very tough :(

Margi- I forgot to previously post my info as you requested...
Fraternal boy/girl twins born via Csection. Induced at 38wks on Jan 3rd. Ethan weighed 5lbs 15oz, Avery weighed 6lbs 1oz. No NICU stay or medical issues for the babies. I was diagnosed with preclampsia on the day of induction. I had pre-e symptoms until almost one month after their birth.
