Hello Everyone,
Welcome Michelle, I think from what you say you've got quite a strong lil one there. Its true that instinct does kick in and that love you get for your baby is unbelievable isnt it!
I cant help with the breastfeeding as Ryan was born too big to be breastfed but as far as AF goes, I bled for 5 weeks and on the last day of my bleed AF came, but as you are breastfeeding your period may not start until you stop breastfeeding.
Sher - I'll send you a PM soon, but I've been really busy at the mo as DH works away all week and having 2 to look after I have very little time.
I hope everyone else is OK K, Little P, Smita and everyone else
Speak soon
Luv Susie

Hi everyone

Sorry Ive not been on in a while. Having problems with the laptop! Its been sent away for repairs tommorrow, so dont know when we will get it back!

Welcome to Michelle and Kady!
My bleeding lasted for approx 4 weeks. I also had only 1 day of light AF at approx 7 weeks post giving birth and nothing since! Thats one good thing about still breastfeeding! I also had some problems with leaking milk in the first few weeks. It was worse first thing in a morning. It has settled down though now and I mainly feel as I did before giving birth. On the odd days when I was uncomfortable I did use some gel pads which you can either use hot or cold (breast feeding bliss I think they are called - you can buy from Mothercare, Boots etc). They certainly helped.

Christine - Great to hear from you. Cant believe Meagan is saying Mama already! wow! Good to hear you had a wonderful night out. We havent been able to leave Jenna yet. Mainly because I am still feeding and she wont take a bottle. (My fault as I never kept up to expressing so DH could feed her from a bottle. She has refused now since approx 3 months old!).

Smita - Hope Dhruvaa is feeling better and has recovered from the flu. Also hope she has had her second injections without any problems. Im so glad Jenna hasnt any more until the MMR. I bet that will be worse though, when she knows a bit more! I agree, its horrid watching them suffer. You just want to cry for them.

Sher - Great to hear you are feeling better and enjoying Siena. Our little ones are becoming so much fun all the time, arent they? Its wonderful to hear the laughs and see the smiles.

Little P - Hope all is going well with Amelia and she is also coping ok with those nasty needles! Ive also got an Annabel Karmel book and I agree - highly recommended. Looking at those recipes, Jenna will be getting tastier food than me!

Minnow - Ned is probably crawling now as you read this!! I bet you are having great fun with him! Jenna now has the habit of grabbing my hair and pulling! Are you still managing to hang on until 6 months or have you started weaning yet? Jenna is 23 weeks this week. Still only on milk, but I must say mainly because she is still content with it. I think she has started teething now. Chews a lot on her teethers at the moment and dribbles more.

Susie - Wow Ryan must weigh nearly twice as much as Jenna! I bet he will be one of the first to crawl and walk! I am due back at work in January. In some ways it seems ages off, but time has flown already.

Take care everyone

love Kim

Can't believe how time is flying by ... I'm going to be going through the weaning process soon!! It's strange, I can't believe Amelia is nearly 4 months old already, but at the same time I can't imagine a life without her!!!

Going to be giving her the baby rice to begin with - any advice from those who have already done it would be great!!

How are you all getting on: Smita, Kim, Susie, Christine, Minnow, Michelle (and everyone else) - I really hope that you are enjoying every moment.

Love to you all

Hi everyone!

Yep,
time sure is flying by!!I just want to record each moment in my mind like some dvd and play it back over and over- I'm surely going to miss this stage..

Michelle,
I also had severe leaks when D was 4-8 weeks old and my breasts were sore all of the time- but I'm so glad I stuck on with it- its so rewarding- I love watching her face when she feeds- the actions she does with her hands and the expressions on her face.. and the way she searches for the nipple if she's let go and latches on so instinctively.. sigh! i could go on and on..oh and for a tip to ease the sore hard feeling, before you have your shower, apply a mixture of glycerine and olive oil on the breasts- leave it on for 5 mins or so and wash off..
Kady sure sounds like a super baby!

Susie,
How are Ryan and Abby doing with each other? is she jealous , or is he like her doll- I'm sure he follows her with his eyes whereever she goes!!

Kim,
Hows Lil Jenna doing?Started weaning her?I hear you on the unable to have a night out bit- everywhere I go, D goes- she Hates the bottle- just starts wailing- I really wish I had expressed milk for her to take to the bottle too..

Gave her some mashed banana yesterday and she had some( like about a tsp), so i was relieved..am yet to start on veggies or rice cereal- any ideas how to go about it? Should I start cerelac?I have no clue..
I dont know if dhruvaa's starting to teeth early as she wants to chew on everything..Isn't 4 aqnd a half too early to teeth?

Sher,
Hows Siena? Are you working part or full time?

Christine,
Meagan saying 'mama' sounds so so beautiful.. I cant wait to get there!!

LittleP,
Life is blissfull aint it?
:D Had amelia started to try rolling over yet?
Each stage is so lovely and dh and I are so so much in love with her...
I never thought life would feel so complete..

Minnow,
HOws Ned? is he crawling all obver the place and having you run behind him to clean up??

Hows everyone else doing? Cheryl and Jacs,
I hope mommyhood is treating you both well..

Hurrah, I'm back - we've been offline for ages due to my DH messing up the computer!! Anyway all well on ,y end - Emily's really settled and thriving now after a rocky start. I've also saved this site to my new laptoiop which means I can comne on more often now - Hope everyones doiing great - Michelle dont worry about bleeding - I bled for 7 weeks after Emily (Midwives said ythat can happen with breastfeeding) but no more bleeding since and she is now 12 weeks old. Dont worry about mjilestones either - all baby's just do different things at different times - I was shockjed to disvover Emilys teething already! Then I learned that somne babies are born with teeth, others nothing until 7 months and all completely normal so I say throw away those milsteone charts and just relax (funny coming from me)

I'll be on again soon to catch up properly and do personals

love Cheryl

Hi all

Amelia has been teething since 11/12 weeks as well Cheryl - no signs of any action yet, but the look of pain on her face is enough for her to get another cuddle!!

Well - I have bowls, cutlery and everything ready to begin the weaning - let's hope it goes well. Amelia has really gained weight recently and is doing so well - I just can't believe how much she's changed and continues to do so.

Smita - Amelia has started rolling over and she's trying hard to sit up on her own. She's always had a very strong neck, right from birth, so she's holding her own there. She seems to be going backwards when she lies on her front!!!

It's so lovely to hear how you are all getting on - big hugs from us both

Cheryl and LittleP,
Its lovely to hear from you.. and very reassuring to hear that its not too early for teeth!
Though I still cant see any sign of a tooth growing in her mouth, dhruvaa is drooling all over the place and chewing on anything she can find in front of her!!Very funny to watch- she's like a puppy with its bone  Gotto get her some teethers..
I dont know about weight in pounds, but she weighs about 6kg200grams now- which is normal for Indian(asian) babies..

Cheryl,
Have you decided to return to work yet?Hows Emily doing?

Little P,
I envy you for getting back into pre-pregnancy weight- here I am, with an enormous appetite and though I'm walking for about 45 mins daily, the needle just doesnt shift :( - gotto try toreduce my intake..
Its lovely to hear about amelia- she seems to be really fast- keep posting when you can get time.

Hows everyone else?
Kim,
Whats jenna upto these days?

Have a nice weekend all..

Love,

Ladies

My DD was also showing all the signs of early teeth at 3-4 months, dribbling, chewing etc - but as yet at 7 months she is still a gummy bear.

Out of my 6 NCT mums with 7 babies (1 set of twins) - they all showed the same early teething signs - only 2 babies so far have one cut tooth at the bottom from 6 months onwards.

The dribbling and chewing passed at about 4 months to be replaced by blowing raspberries!!! Enjoy

Hi girls,
Thanks for the info on the bleeding and full breasts, Kady was 6 weeks old yesterday and my bleeding finally stopped about 3 days ago, don't think i'll ever moan about my AF lasting 5 days ever again  My full boobs seem to have settled at bit aswell, or maybe it's because she's been having a lot of little feeds all day every day, she's been really thirsty in this heat and constantly wanting a drink. I know they say breast milk is enough for them, they don't need anything else and the first part is the thirst quencher but it got to the point the other day where she wanted on about every 20-30 mins or so just for a wee drink, my nipples were starting to get sore, so i gave in and gave her some cool boiled water to give them a break and she took to it ok and it eased my nipples a bit.
She has been really unsettled and grouchy during the day, doesn't like this heat at all but on the positive side to that she has been sleeping right through the night for the last week now, she's been having a feed between 11pm-midnight and then sleeping through til about 7-8am, so first thing in the morning is about the only time my breasts are really full and sore now.
Thought i'd have time to write my news and do some personals as she fell asleep about 15mins ago but no such luck i'm afraid, she's just woke up so i'd better go before her cries get louder.
Take care all and hopefully i'll get more time next time.
Lotsa love

Hi all - thanks for info re teething - maybe symptoms will pass then although I think one of the teeth has come through the gum.

Smita - are you still breastfeeding? Apparently it slows your metabolism so in theory you don't lose weight from breastfeeding (although some people claim to) so that could be why its not dropping off yet and maybe it will once you stop. I still have 2 stone to lose but I'm going to wait to finish breastfeeding. I don't know what to do re work, I'm definitely not goiinbg back until January and then only 2 days a week but I don't want to leave her at all - what about you?
Lil P - Great to hear your news - have you started weaning yet? What did you get ready? I need to start collecting stuff now. Its a shame no news from Jacs or Olivia on here but maybe the will come on.

Oops - got to go, madams crying - more personals next time

LittleP, Smita, Kim, Michelle, Susie, Cheryl, Caroline, Minnow (and everyone else) It's great to hear your updates and how all of your little angels are doing! It's such an amazing time that is going by so fast. I am starting my 7th month of being a stay-at-home mom and at times it is challenging but I wouldn't trade the time with our little angel. I truly believe she is a more content baby with the loving and nurturing I give her every day. I will go back to work part time at some point but for now this is working for us and we hope it will for some time to come.

Meagan started lots of drooling at 3 months old and her first 2 bottom incisor teeth came in at 6 months. She has an upper one starting as well now. She did very little crying or fussing over it. Her pediatrician said sometimes when the molars (back teeth) come in the pain is worse than the front teeth. Infant Tylenol is approved in tougher situations, otherwise teething rings and baby Anbesol helps as well.

Meagan has been on Stage 2 baby food for a month now. I do give her rice cereal with some fruit mixed in twice a day with veggies/meats in the afternoon. I mix approx 2-3 tablespoons of rice cerial with 2 ounces of formula ( can use breast milk or water as well and as much as you wish depending on the consistency you want) I then add 1-2 ounces of fruit and Meagan loves it! She will be able to start eating little things like Cheerios and baby biscuits next month.

I had gained 17 pounds during my pregnancy and had lost 27 total pounds at my 6 week checkup. I believe the breastfeeding contributed to the weight loss, because once I stopped breastfeeding I started gaining again.

I wish everyone the very best. Lots of hugs and kisses to all of your little angels!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well these days. Siena is just about six months old and such a little ham. She loves having her picure taken. We started her on rice cereal and then barley. I think we will try oatmeal next and then move into some veggies. I have to say that I am so amazed with how quickly they catch on to eating with a spoon. The first time is a challenge, of course, but after that it seemed to work out well. Now I am excited to feed her more solid foods. I posted an updated photo on the Photobucket site. I would love to see the other babies since they are becoming so much more alert these days.

Siena is rolling quite a bit and sits up for a very short time. It is fun having my days off with her. I work 2 1/2 days a week. At the present time his schedule seems to work for me. I read a book called "Mommy Wars" by Leslie Morgan Steiner and it is really good. Short essays written by moms. I found it amusing but also enlightening as we all go through the same types of decisions with our families, careers and marriage. You may want to check it out.

Well it is 97 degrees here today and I am trying to keep cool. Hope everyone is doing well and are enjoying their little treasures.

Take Care,
Sheri

Hi all

Hope you are all ok and having loads of fun ... nothing quite prepares you for all the exciting changes does it. I have become a total Yummy Mummy, but ho-hum Amelia is such great fun!

She is almost holding her own in the sitting up position and loves standing up - she has this really cute laugh and smile!!

Anyway - big hugs to you all.

I can't believe how hard it is to get on here - every time I make these promises about getting on more often it seesm ages again! I think I need to accept that life has changed and I'll just get on when I can. Emily is still doiing really well and I'm loving every day. I'm just collecting stuff for weaning and then i'll be starting with the solids - exciting! She's a very busy baby - into everything and desperate to move around after our dog - seems to be a good encouragement for crawling - at the moment he can escape but it won't be long till shes after him - bless him, he won't know whats hit him.

Love to all
