Hi All

I have just had my scan and all is well.
Both bubs are great and the right size for my dates, although the girl is slightly bigger than the boy. She was sitting on his head, so he probably is off his food a little.
It was amazing to see them again and I am so excited about meeting them.
Another scan booked for 4th September....can't wait.

Hope everyone is well.

Take care and love to all

Chelle, so glad to hear your 28 week scan went so well. Glad to hear your babies are developing right on track! I have my 28 week scan in about 3 weeks. Can't wait to see them again too!

I bought my nursery furniture yesterday...including 2 cribs. I also bought this huge, comfy rocker/recliner that almost fits two adults. So it will be perfect for rocking/feeding both babies at the same time. I'll have delivery in a couple of weeks and then my nursery will be set up & decorated by the end of August.

Wow...seems like we're getting close!

Do you all plan on being a bit early? I read that 3 weeks early is the average for twins, so I'm planning to have everything done early for that reason. Just in case I go early or have bed rest, etc.

Kristi

I bet your having fun?? Where did you get your rocking chair if you don't mind me asking. I don't know if we can afford an extra chair (space or money!!!)
As for planning early, as I've said before, I think you are doing the right thing.
My ob just said today that twins are normally expected at 38 weeks (I know this!!!) although as we know they can arrive anytime. I am a little dubious as to how I will be delivering them. BabyA is head down and sort of laying slightly across under, BabyB who is breech. If she doesn't turn, I am not sure as to whether they will deliver A as normal and then B as C - Section. I am a bit miffed.
We shall see I suppose. I have all my trust in then obs and staff.
We didn't bother getting photo's today as the babies are quite hard to see as whole babies.... they have grown so much.
I didn't get to find out how much they weigh tho, which was a little disapointing.

Chelle, you & I have been having so much fun posting this AM that I couldn't remember which thread you asked me about the chair! Finally found it here. I got the chair at a regular furniture store (called Art Van, here in the US). Not a baby store at all. I can also see me sleeping it in during that last uncomfortable month of pregnancy or bedrest...and even after birth if I have a C-section.

Chelle

SO pleased the scan went well. It's amazing to think of what they do all day long (sit on eachother's head....!!)

Your nursery will be lovely, Kristi. Just read your post on the other thread re. your story. I was in tears. God does look out for us and without are searches for babies/endless drugs/failed attempts we wouldnt be having the babies we are having NOw which are the ones God always intended. :D We just have longer journeys than most.

Well said Lumi! I couldn't agree more. Looking back I can see why it wasn't my time many years ago. My life is different now and I can see that this is the right time for me and God did have a plan. You couldn't have made me realize that years ago though! :)

I am not much further ahead than you but managed to buy a pair of sweet outfits (in white!) last week. I wanted to wait until 12 week scan and then I was still nervous!!

Kristi I agree with what you say. Our life is in the 'right' place now, can afford (just!!!) for me to take longer off work than we had originally intended (2 years I hope, at least). That would have been impossible when we were first trying. Of course, it's hard to accept that then!

I remember reading an article from an ivf daddy saying all the years of hell disppeared into a memory like a bad night night out, nothing more!
My parentsinlaw keep saying 'God must really like you two to bless you with 2 babie!' Very sweet and we count our blessings every day.

Lumi, yep, God certainly did bless us with two babies. Amazing, huh? Sometimes I wonder what I did right (finally) in my life to deserve it. :)

Kareen, answering your question about buying stuff. I didn't dare step foot in a baby deptartment of any store until I hit 18 weeks. Dumb, I know, but I felt I would "jinx" something. At 18 weeks I knew I would find out the sex in 2 weeks, so I finally started looking. At 20 weeks when I found out I was having 2 boys, I went full force shopping. I'm a bit of a planner and worry about having bed rest or preemies, so I want everything done early and all set. I have bought a few big items (double stroller, playyard, car seats/carriers, cradle, etc), plus lots of little needed items (clothes, etc). I bought all the nursery bedding at 22 weeks. And I bought the nursery room furniture just now at 25 weeks.

Oh my gosh! 6 days!! And here I feel like 3 months is right around the corner. How exciting for you, Jen. Good job keeping those little girls in there for so long. I suspect you'll have a short hospital stay and have them home quickly then. Good luck and have fun!!!!

Hi Girls

Not sure if any of you will remember me, but I started this thread what seems like an age ago. I just popped in to see that you are all thriving and doing well. I am so pleased for you all.

After the shock of loosing one bub, DH and I are OK and doing well and are really happy and feel totally blessed with the little one we have. I am already enjoying my Bub (Little Chicken) as we call it. I am already feeling Chicken move around and that is so reasuring and makes me smile every time I feel Chicken move. How amazing.

So girls have a great time being preg and hope you are all having an enjoyable one. Take things easy.

Lov Daniella and Chicken. :)

That's cute that Daniella calls her little one "chicken". I'm still stuck on Baby A and Baby B. I haven't come up with a clever name for them. I think it's a great idea, Daniella!

Two more days for Jen (davinagracia) and she gets to meet her little girls!! Oh my...how exciting. I can't wait to hear the good news and see pictures! I can't imagine how I'd feel if I knew the big day was 2 days away! Good luck, Jen!

Hope everyone else is well!!

good news!

Post by racquel »

I'm so pleased to announce our sono showed twins today! Had a major cramping/bleeding scare yesterday and we were both convinced it was all over. We were so shocked and delighted this morning when we saw both heartbeats!! I have a very large subchorionic bleed which is larger than both sacs together and the dr. is concerned about it impacting the beanies, so I'm back on bedrest and will now be taking 2 PIO shots a day. I go back in Friday for another sono - they're hoping my body will absorb or pass the blood and all will be well. We're not out of the woods yet but this is the best possible outcome after our scare this weekend.

I love this thread, it's so positive and uplifting. Can't wait to hear how Jen does with her little girls and look forward to other great twin stories.

Take care everyone, and thanks for your support. -Racquel
