Ladies,

Question for you. Is cramping normal after ET? I've been having some. I also have my first progesterone injection today. That's the one that's like oil (?) Is there anything that I can do to ease the pain? I've seen posts that they are very painful.

AFM - Landlord said we can stay and 2 min later she says she has someone who wants to buy it and they will be showing the house Saturday ????????? So my dh told her streight that we are leaving... we can't take that uncertainty anymore. So I am back at house shopping and got to pick quick.

Also I think my body is now finally realizing I am pg cause I had a sensation on my boobs this morning?? So I guess it's good.

Hello Everyone!
I have been MIA for a few weeks due to illness, work, and conferences. I just started stims with Follistim yesterday. My b/w and u/s were not what RE wanted so I was on just Lupron for 5 weeks. Taking one day at a time is key. I had several crying days but remain faithful. I take 75 of Follistim in AM and PM and 5 units of Lupron. I go for u/s and b/w on Monday. This IVF can be a roller coaster. On a another note, my stepson has decided on a college for the fall. He wants to be an optical engineer. So I am proud of him. I have to go read all the posts I have missed and reply. God bless everyone.

Had my SnS this morning, I am up to 10 follies, though the late arrivals are only ~10mm. The others are up to ~19. The cyst is at 23.The fellow who did the u/s would not say when she thought they Dr. would want to schedule the ER, so I have to wait for my E2 levels and afternoon phone call. This has been a long week of waiting and wondering when... It is hard when family is trying to firm up Easter plans.
Worst part is she told me I can't ride my horse anymore-too much danger of ovary torsion
Last time, I actually rode up till the day of the ET, even hopping on for a lite ride the day after ER. I guess they were less concerned when I had fewer follies and no cyst in there. Oh well... guess I'll try to listen.

I am so thankful to be on this Blog. No one understands unless they have been through it... I have only been on for a day and really am dedicated to pray and journal for those who have been through so much. I am very blessed to have two healthy children from a previous marriage, so for those who have not yet been able a be parent I pray that God blesses you with this special blessing... We have to keep this in mind "We have done what we CAN do...God can only do what we CAN'T do..."

Tomorrow I go for my first blood work to confirm my positive pregnancy test. My husband and I are keeping grounded because we both have experienced a positive pregnancy test that leads to a miscarriage. Please pray for us to have high numbers tomorrow! As I will be praying for all of you!

3/21: 2 eggs transferred (day 5)
3/22: none to Freeze
3/29: took hpt Positve ( I don't know where to get all those cute "+" pregnancy signs")
4/2: RE appointment at 10:30 for bloodwork: TBD (Hopefully Good Friday will have a Good Number for us)

Ladies I just had my 1st PIO injection. I have a friend who's an RN so she came over and did it for me. It didn't hurt at all, and I read online that I should put it inside my bra prior so it could warm up. My friend said that it took longer for the oil to come out because the hole in the needle was small. She said that the needle was long enough just the hole was small and that if I didnt mind it taking a little longer then she wouldn't switch needles! I still dont know if its normal to have some abdominal pain after transfer. My stomach has been hurting off and on.

Franca – yeah, I would like a clarification also. Do you mean you feel hot? If so take your temperature.

Emmax – 17 … that is great! Did they give you anything for pain? I was prescribed Vicodin for the pain and believe me I needed it right after the retrieval today. You might want to ask if there is something you can take for the pain.

Latrell – some occasional cramping is normal but it shouldn’t be a constant cramping. That is something to definitely tell your RE. I think that is why my FET didn’t work back in May 2008. I had my transfer and I went off to sleep when I got home … when I woke up (well the cramping woke me up) I knew it wasn’t going to work. I think the cramping expelled the embryo right out of there. It told my RE about it and for this fresh transfer they put me on an “angry uterus protocol”, which means following the ER, I will be on Xanax TID and 600mg of Ibuprofen TID to ensure my uterus doesn’t start cramping or contracting. To answer you progesterone injection question: those injections were not my friend … lol. But, I used ice before the injection and then injected it in the right upper or left upper buttocks area. Just below the waist line. I also made sure I used a warm towel afterwards and massaged the area to help reduce the knots and bruising that happens. The oil in the progesterone is very thick so it needs to be massaged into the area w/ a warm rag. Some people say that the ice makes it worse because it tightens up the muscle but it worked for me! Also, if the knots become a problem, you can use a heating pad to help the soreness. Good luck!

Babyluv – your vacation sounds great. We are having wonderful weather today in Ohio … we reached 70’s yesterday and almost 80 degrees today.

Not hopeless yet, DrBoots, rayofsunshine – I am so glad you ladies are doing well!

Helene – I think your landlord is bipolar. She doesn’t know what she wants to do. I think your DH made the right decision. Can you imagine trying to move months later from now and you are further along w/ your pregnancy. Once you finally move, you guys can breathe a sigh of relief!

Tameka - Welcome back! I am glad you will be starting you follistim tonight and are feeling better!

Winnnie – your u/s sounds like very positive news. Please let us know about the blood work and you ER date. I agree, riding your horse can be so very dangerous. Just think of it this way, you will have plenty of future days to ride your horse!

Stephanie – good luck on the blood work tomorrow. Please let us know the results!

AFM – sorry ladies I hope I am making sense as I am still a little woozy from my ER this morning. I was put under general anesthesia, so I don’t remember anything. I had to take two Vicodins when I got home because I was very sore! But, they were able to retrieve 10 eggs and they are all from my right ovary. The left ovary had plenty of eggs but it was still hidden behind my uterus and my colon. My RE said he would have chanced it like he did during my original retrieval but this time my colon was in the way and he didn’t want to risk nicking my bowel. I agreed because I have had a few patients die from nicked bowels during surgery when I worked as RN in the ICU. But, if I really think about it, this ER resulted in only 1 less embryo than my original ER when he got 11 and that was from both ovaries. I guess increasing the dose really helped me out. Well, I am going to quit babbling for now … lol! Please take care ladies!!
