Jane,

Apologies - I have just read the update thread re treatments - my head is in the clouds at the moment and I am not quite awake yet - no excuse though, I know. I do apologise. I don't know why I thought you were waiting for FSH results. I hope scan went well yesterday. Look forward to your news.

Not the news I was hoping for but could have been worse.

Three viable follicles (16, 15 + 11mm) and one smaller - all on the rhs, nothing on the lhs. By coincidence, my ectopic was on the left but the two aren't connected. He looked for a long time and also tried via a regular external/abdominal scan. EC will be Monday 0800 and I've another 2 day's of stims beore then.

We've decided, if we only get one viable egg or only one fertilises, we'll defrost our 3 frosties (which are frozen together) and choose the best of those to have a max of 3 embies put back Wed afternoon. I'm disappointed and cried twice at the clinic, but DD had a very bad night and I had less than 3 hour's sleep so will bounce back later.

All's not lost and I've written a thousand posts to others on this so I know it only takes one blah blah....just doesn't help that much right now.

Jane, I hope you had better news yesterday?

Randa, congrats on the 5 eggs, that's great. Good luck with the fertilisation rates.

Sharon, you didn't say how you were doing. How are you?

hugs
Debra.

Randa - EC + freeze c.28th Sept.

BigJ - fresh/donor cycle in Kiev in November.
Caroline - basking in the sun... November FET cycle planned

Just to add I had a moment of clarity (very rare lol) and realise not producing lots of follies might not be such a bad thing. This is our 4th and final fresh attempt, if we had lots of embryos next week, with some to freeze, the whole thing would just continue to roll, which neither DF nor I want.

This way we'll do what we can now, if we fail and still have frosties, we'll FET asap. 2006 will either be pgy and a baby or a fresh sheet and time to move on.

I can live with that.

How's everyone else's Thursday???
hugs

Debra
You have a good few days for those 3 follies to grow nicely and they will. I think the decision to use the frosties just in case is also a good one. This whole process is such a long one - it is all-consuming. It will be almost a year of our lives since we took the decision to try one more time til October when, hopefully embies will survive defrost. It's a long, long road. But enough of that - today you have 3 follies still growing with your frosties in reserve so there are choices which is a nice position to be in. Don't forget DebbieEd, she only had 2 embies which resulted in a pregnancy. This is your day today but thank you for thinking to ask me how I'm doing. As I said, I feel tons better for introducing the oestrogen back - but work is keeping me busy and I have little time to think of the treatment, except when it comes to mealtimes - eating healthily etc and then I start to think again. You and Randa mentioned the other day about injections and how you kind of look forward. I felt exactly the same - I think it's having control and this creates positivety. Keep positive gal - will those follies to grow now. Speak to you later.

Hi Ladies,

Sorry didn't get chance to post yesterday following the scan. Well we have decided to go ahead as long they are happy with my lining on Friday its 19mm thick and it looks OK but there is some scare tissue there. If they say I need more surgery and its a freeze all we won't go ahead. Had my shot last night and collection is tomorrow at the moment I have one at 21mm, 19mm, 11mm and 10mm ythe other teo might grow and then two at about 6mm. i was disapointed but we have to give it this final shot if we get twop viable embryos then I have as much of a chance as anyone else. I'm keepimg my fingers crossed for the two biggies please send me lts of baby dust amd pma.

Debra looks like we have done much the same this time, it seems like you have a good plan going, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I don't know why I was so upset the other day, because i always knew the risk of me not responding at all, I think I was just hoping i would do better it felt like I was and all the drugs probably got to me with a lack of sleep. Plus all I could hear in my head was what the Consultant said to me in July and I could hear him I told you so 1-2% chance, i so want to rpove him wrong that I can do it and get pregnant. That is what i keep telling myself anyway.

I will let you know how many eggs they collect tomorrow.

Randa, sorry almost forgot you congrats on the 5 eggs.

Love,

Jane

Jane, you hit the nail on the head, with 2 embies you/we have the same chance as anyone else. Some of your follies are a really good size, you must be pleased with them? Good luck tomorrow at EC, I look forward to hearing how many eggs you've got. I guess you're having 5-day blastos? unless your clinic work Sundays? Please prove the doctor wrong :)

Sharon, Thanks for your kind words. I know the extra Puregon will hopefully move things along a bit. The clinic had no doubt about continuing and reminded us of our good EC rate and fertilisation. I'll keep doing the healthy thing and take it easy. DF has next week off as do I so I feel we're as prepared as possible.

Randa, I wish you were on the east coast instead of the west...or better still here in Europe! good luck hearing how you've got on.

Debra.

Jane - you must both be pleased today. You have two nice sized follies there and your endometrium is 19mm thick - WOW that's fantastic. I know our clinic prefers the lining to be at least 10mm. Mine, the last time was 12mm approx and I was pleased with that but yours sound superb. If we get to transfer stage this time, I would love to have a lining that thick - it's a very good start for the embies to start bedding down. All the very best to you and yours tomorrow for EC (sorry I got confused earlier in the posts). I guess we are all coming up to crunch point again, aren't we. So nice to be in all your company at the moment. PMA x

Randa, can't wait to hear your news - hope you're feeling a little more recovered from EC yesterday. Speak to you soon hopefully with some jolly news. :)

Debra, I would imagine Monday can't come around fast enough for you both. I think having to make decisions is so mentally exhausting, especially with the FEs consideration but hopefully Monday will bring good news. I really feel like I'm lagging behind you all now. :( I won't have my lining scan until next Friday (7th) with EC either Monday or Wednesday of the following week (unless the days vary with FET). If this treatment hadn't been put back a week because of their backlogs I would have been spot on with you, Randa and Jane. Would have been so nice to have been in the 2WW together. Never mind. Good plan you both being off next week - make the most of it - another Pride & Prejudice read coming on??

Randa - EC + freeze c.28th Sept.
Debra - EC 3rd Oct / ET 5th
Jane - EC 30 Oct (?)
Katie - donor/FET 10th Oct.
Sharon - start stims (HRT) 23rd Sept, FET w/c 10th Oct
Kat - started bcp 18th Sept. Fresh/donor cycle end Oct
Nuala - fresh cycle, late Oct.
BigJ - fresh/donor cycle in Kiev in November.
Caroline - basking in the sun... November FET cycle planned

Sharon, you're only just be behind me so we'll overlap on the 2ww together for a bit I'm sure. Did you mean ET not EC? Anyway, Randa will be limbering up for her next tmt (Dec?) vs. chewing her nails on the 2ww AND Katie will be very close to your dates too. You'll not be suffering alone!

Yes P&P might get a revisit but I feel a Dickens fortnight coming on. I've read very little of his so have loads more to plough through. DF will be around so I doubt I'll have too much quiet time, although he's a World of Warcraft fanatic (along with 4m others) so I might persuade him to spend some time on there.

...and yes Monday can't come too soon!

hugs

aha, that explains it! I kept seeing your name and checking back for an update only for you to have gone and no message, 'mean and cruel Randa' I thought (as if, lol).

Fabulous! all 5!! You must both be thrilled. It also gives me hope for next week, thank you.
