okay - new pregnancy (maybe) symptom...

With all the puking, I keep getting dehydrated and feeling sick. DH thought maybe my blood sugar was too wacky and asked a diabetic friend to borrow an old glucose monitor. So tonight I pricked my finger for the first time. (My blood sugar was only 52... so I'm drinking some chocolate milk now to try to feel better)....

I don't *like* pricking my finger, but I was sure I'd be fine after all the blood draws and self-injections with the IVF.... but NOPE! Good thing I was sitting down, because my chest got tight, my vision went dark and I passed out! OMG! I came to right away and went to go throw up. Now I'm feeling a lot better, but I think I'll call my doctor tomorrow anyways.

So scary!

Hello all! I tried 3 times to post last wednesday but I guess the weather was affecting my ability. I live in northern Alabama and was in the middle of all the tornados. We are very blessed and only lost a tree. It seems silly to bring it up considering what a lot of other families are going through. We, like everyone in my county, were out of power for 5 days. There is still quite a few without. I have never been through anything like that and hope it never happens again (anywhere). The worst was when we lost power and the cell phones did not work. I did not have a radio and was home alone. I have never felt that isolated. Luckily my DH got home about 1-2 hours later - he was stuck at work.

So I will try and re-do all my personals and catch up.

First - Mello - you have been in my prayers and thoughts so much. I am so glad to hear that little Marlo is still hanging in there. I know everyday is a blessing and we will keep praying for more. So sorry about having to deliver Clair, you are a very strong and amazing woman. Thank you for sharing your blog with us.

Anna - I was so relieved to see your Pap was normal. YAY for cancer-free.

Leora - Love to hear about your boring pregnancy. Keep it up. Great that you were finally able to hear your babies heart beats. Oh, just saw your new post - be careful. Definitely call your doctor and report. That is scary. Guess pregnancy not boring right now.

Ryann - Sorry to hear you have to be on bedrest. It can get so annoying, but it is for a very good cause. I had to be on modified bedrest for a month while they were trying to use medication for my ectopic pregnancy. I found getting photo book albums of past vacations on shutterfly done a great time eater. I love the fabric you picked for the nursery and the idea for black and white. I would never have thought about it but I really love it. I may steal that idea. Also thank you for the link on the polo shirts. I was so excited to buy some, then lost power and internet (took 2 more days to get internet). I will be looking soon.

Blair - WOW - triplets. I was sure you were having more than one based on your levels but 3, wow. Congrats and good luck. Even with my just having twins, I have found taking one day at time helpful. I get too nervous and scared when I try and think about the future.

Lou - I hope your husband is doing better and the seizures are under control. I haven't seen any updates so I assume he must be - that had to be terribly scary. I love the furniture you have found - congrats. I haven't even looked. I do need to get on that - with twins they say to try and get everything done in the 2nd trimester. Still cant believe we are that far along - 4 months. It has gone fast.

Vicky - welcome to the board.

Happy Bunny - I am glad you are feeling better.

Kay - great news for your NT scan. And a boy - that is great.

Sonya - I hope you are feeling better - sorry about the scare. Take it easy as much as you can.

AFM: Not much to report. I am growing everyday it seems, pants I could button last week, no longer will. I have to figure out how to post a picture. Still feeling really good. I just get a pulling/stretching feeling in the left lower abdomen at times - ligaments I think. Good news is I got my braces off today. When we had the ectopic last year we opted not to do IVF yet and I had $5000 in flex spending so I got braces. DH called them our first baby - yes he has some kind of humor.

KatieG-I'm hanging in there. The twins are keeping me super busy during the day; I'm so glad when my husband gets home from work each day so I have an extra set of hands. I remember when I was pregnant people told me that when they nap, I should also take a quick nap to catch up on sleep. Instead, I'm finding that I use the time when they are asleep to get things done around the house. I think I'm just used to surviving on very little sleep. We've managed to stretch their nighttime feedings to 3 hours apart, which is much better than every 2 hours. Can't believe they are almost 8 weeks old.

Leora-I caught my first episode of Pregnant in Heels around 2 or 3 am a couple of weeks ago. Our son has reflux and has to be kept upright for 30 minutes after each feeding. We've started keeping his sister upright too, since she is prone to spitting up after eating. So I've started watching TV during that 30 minute period to pass the time as I don't want to engage them too much and get them totally awake. I think the first episode I saw was the one where she described her infertility issues. Since it's on throughout the night, that's when I've been watching it.

Blair-Triplets! Congratulations. At least you are learning about it early and not later on after you've gotten used to the idea of just twins.

As for those on bedrest, consider consulting with a physical therapist to see what you can do to prevent losing too much muscle. I was on complete bedrest for only a month, but I lost a lot of muscle tone in my legs and my upper back was so weak I could only stand for a couple of minutes before having to sit down after I delivered. I'm back in the gym now, so my strength training should help my recovery.

Blair WOW TRIPLETS!!!! I am so happy for you and I will keep you and your 3 little miracles in my prayers for a safe and clam pregnancy and delivery.

Sonya please be careful and take good care of yourself. I am sure baby Brogan is doing great and you are so close to the end now how exciting :)

Mellow I am so sorry for everything you are having to go through and please know that we all admire your strength and are sending you lots of positive energy, and support as well as prayers for both baby Clair and little Marlo. Sending you hugs and lots of strength,

Lou you are looking good mama :) I can see that little bump showing more and more every week...

Leora low blood sugar is very dangerous please take care of yourself. I have low blood sugar...I have had it since I was very young and I always carry a quick snack with me so I don't get weak and dizzy. It is a bit more intense now that I am pregnant but totally manageable. Good luck to you

KJM YAY for getting your braces off :) I had braces as a teenager so I remember getting them off and it was one of the happiest days of my teen life

Margi how are you twin mama? almost out of the 1st trimester :)

Sorry for anyone I missed you are all in my thoughts and I read every day :)

AFM My son got his cast off today and not a day too soon since I am getting too big to help him shower and get dressed...lol I am getting bigger and bigger every day now and loving it. I am up 13lb since the beginning of my pregnancy and baby Paul is kicking away :) Also we scheduled our baby shower for June 5th so now it is starting to get more and more real. My low lying placenta is completely resolved so I walk daily now about a mile and a half which is such a change from partial bed rest for so long. Also it is finally spring here is the NE and I am loving the blooming trees and the green grass again. I have a new belly picture but I can't seem to upload it so I will do it as soon as DH gets home

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is well :)

annashope - You look amazing! :D Your bump looks great :D

Blair - Hope you and the 3 babies are well! You and DH must still be shock! No wonder you've been having terrible morning sickness. I'm still worrying because I'm not having the typical pregnancy symptoms like sickness, but maybe that's a good sign that I'm not carrying 3 babies! lol :D Take good care of yourself x x x

Leora - hope you're feeling better.

AFM - Only 1 week to go until our first u/s! Arrrgghhhhh This last week is going to go so slow! :( Two nights ago I had stomach cramps like AF was coming and everytime I went to the loo I expected to see blood - luckily I haven't! I seem to get most symptoms towards the end of the evening, during the night and in a morning. Suppose I'm just going crazy waitin for our first scan! I'm guessing they'll just be the one baby! I think if it's twins I'd have more symptoms.

Take care everyone x

annashope - you're looking FABULOUS!!! Absolutely glowing! And so glad your DS got his cast off, he must be sooo happy.

vicky - YAY for only 1 more week to go until u/s!!

sonya - how are you doing? Sorry you had that preterm labor scare but hopefully Brogan will stay put for awhile longer.

kjm - Glad to hear your feeling good and that you're ok after those terrible tornados.

leora - You poor thing passing out with your finger prick. Did you get to talk to your doc today about the low blood sugar?

mellow - thinking of you and glad your DH is posting for you on the blog. I saw his update from yesterday and I'm glad to see you & Marlo are still doing well.

AFM, we're 30 weeks today! YAY!!! I'm feeling great! Still itchy unfortunately, even on the Medrol, BUT some of the larger patches have cleared up now and I think overall I have less cuts and sores now from the endless scratching. So I'll take any improvement, no matter how small. I've really been enjoying exercising again too. Once we hit the 27-28 week mark I felt comfortable exercising again and I just love the Summer Sanders' Prenatal Workout DVD that my SIL lent me. I feel so good after it and it's a nice addition to all the walks I do with my dog. That's about it for me these days.

slow week, huh? I guess that's good - everyone is having a boring old time!

Anna - you look awesome! :D

Amanda - 30 weeks! Only 10 or so more to go! She'll be here so soon!

Vicky - that week is going to go really slowly... but soon you'll have great u/s results to share with us! U/s are like crack - once you get one, you want more and more and more! I've gone 2 whole weeks now with no u/s and I'm having serious withdrawal symptoms!

Reenie - it must be so hard to do nothing for a few weeks/months and then need to be up and around taking care of two babies all the time! Thanks for the advice about keeping fit while on bedrest

Kjm - I hope the weather hasn't done too much damage to your neighborhood. So scary to be out of power for so long! Congrats on getting your braces off - my DH is just getting his ON! He has spacers now, so he'll be getting railroad tracks in a few days. No one corrected his teeth when he was a kid and it bothers me so much that they are not straight. Hopefully now they will be!

AFM - not much. Still puking up almost everything. UGH. Next OB appt is on Thursday and I'm going to beg/scream/fight for Zofran. People have to STOP telling me that this will pass in my second trimester... 13w3d today and STILL PUKING! Ugh. I had a strawberry milkshake for breakfast and it came up so violently that I had strawberry milkshake coming out my nose. Ick. I feel really sick.

Other wise, things are good. Belly is really starting to grow. :D

Leora....UGH! I sooo feel for you. I remember all too clearly the violent vomitting. I sure hope they will give you some Zofran....but do you really think you should wait until your appt? Maybe you should call and beg and scream over the phone?

Amanda...Happy 30 weeks! So exciting! And I know she's coming early because of you TAC, so just about 7 more weeks or so, right?

kjm...Thanks for the compliment on the black and white. My aunt, who is going to make 2 baby blankets, had asked if I decided on the nursery colors. I told her and she gave me such attitude, asking if I planned on having Motley Crue babies. I can't wait to show her pictures of the nursery when it's finished so she can see it quite elegant and not at all dark. I also convinced DH to find a black chadelier to hang-I can't wait!

Mellow...If you check up on here I was glad to read that you are still doing well-continuing to pray for you and Marlo!

AFM...I passed my glucose test! Woo hoo! I'm happy too because I was sure I would pass out big time from the 3 hour one, but now I don't have to worry about it! Nothing exciting to report from the world of bedrest. I've been a bum this week and enjoying it, but I'm sure the boredom will kick in. Here is my 24 week bump. Dh and I think it's kinda funny, but you can actually see the seperation in my bump of where Dylan is and where Bella is. It's not this perfectly round bump! I feel huge! I have put a total of 16lbs back on from the original 20 lost! Yay me!

ryann- What a cute little bump. Its so funny that you all can see where the babies are laying. I know bedrest is probably boring, but while your on it make a list of any suggestions you have because Im sure its only a matter of time before Im on it. As for your aunt- who cares what people think. I think it def looks elegant and the chandelier will be awesome. People love throwing their 2 cents on everything they can so as long as you and DH are happy then thats all that matters.

leora- Im so sorry you are stink so sick. I would call and beg for zofran before the appointment. Even though Ive managed to avoid throwing up every time I would def agree that its miserable feeling sick all the time. I will say that even with the zofran I still feel sick within a few hours. After you mentioned a milkshake it did make me want to drive out and get one though. You need to post pics of your little belly soon!

klinger- 30 weeks!!!! You are getting so close to meeting your beautiful little girl. So exciting! Stinks that you still have the itching but im hoping it gets better. Im glad you can get back into exercising and its making you feel even better.

vicky- Not too much longer before the first ultrasound!!! I know it feels like you are going crazy waiting but once you see that baby (or babies) on that screen it will make it all worth every second. Just because you arent having symptoms I wouldnt worry about- there are tons of people who have no symptoms and still have a healthy pregnancy. Cant wait to hear how the US goes.

Anna- You look so great!!! Love your hair in that pic too. I just got mine chopped to a little longer than yours and am regretting it big time now that I know it takes 30 min to fix and ill have 3 babies. Your belly pic is great so keep them coming. You def look like you are glowing!! And your shower is only a month away which is even more exciting.

sunshine- Thanks for the congrats. I guess my Cali vacation convinced one of those little ones to split so we could have three. It must be all the baby dust Rio sprinkled around Monterey for me.

kjm- I am glad to hear that you and your family are doing ok despite the disaster. Congrats on getting braces off and glad things are progressing nicely.

lou- hows that belly coming along?

AFM- Sorry if i missed some but I just wanted to say hey. We are still getting used to the idea of having triplets and even saying it outloud is surreal. Even though I was hoping to wait the full 12 wks with one baby, since we had a different situation and my sister planned a family vaca when I would be 32 wks, we went ahead and told her last night. She cried and was thrilled for us but then said she was just in shock that there were 3 babies. Even though there are tons to think of and its all a little scary I am just going to try my best and take it day by day. Hope everyone is doing well.
