I'm not quite up to personals yet but thank you so much for all your kind words.

I had to get some tablets for the d&c today for thurs. My chemist came out to me and said he was so sorry, he hadn't known I was pregnant. I just burst into tears.

Ladies - BETA was 575!!! More than doubled (was 205 Monday)! Love it, love it, love it! Thank you so much - all of you - for your support. Love you guys! Once I have the US I will be able to breathe a little easier. One step at a time...and all steps in the right direction!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!! Let's bring on a whole ton of BFP's!!!!!

Woohoo!!! So, no more BETAS? When's your u/s? Did they do AD (Assisted Hatching)? If yes, just so you know it increases the chance of the embryo splitting...identical twinkies!!! Congrats!

Thanks! It'll be a little sad b/c I will miss my RE's office, but it'll feel like moving along. My EDD is May 10th. I'm so annoyed you didn't get your results today...ugh! I'm sure they'll be great when you get them tomorrow!

Moorebaby - No more BETA for me. My US is Oct. 20th. It's farther along than the point I lost the last one...which is ok. We did not do assisted hatching, and thankfully so. Twins do run in our family! I am sure i will be ok either way. At this point, I am keeping my eye on the prize - a healthy baby, period. If that means I get two, I'll play the lottery! Double the fun, right?

Hi ladies,
I hope everyone is having a nice evening. I have a quick question for those that are currently using or have used PIO (Progesterone In Oil) injections. I have been using PIO for 10 days. The I injections haven't been painful with the exception of one injection the other day. I think i was just overly tense and emitional that day. My question is, has anyone experienced numbness in a particular area of the buttocks even after 24 of having an injection? Last night DH gave me a PIO injection on my right buttocks/hip. I felt the numbness like I always do because I am applying Lidocaine 2.5%/ Prilocain 2.5% 15 minutes prior to the injectio along with ice for about 5 minutes before the injection. But the numbness goes away after. Today, I still have numbness in that area. And it's a pretty large area. I touch the area and I don't feel it the sensation of my touch. Has anyone experienced this? Do you ladies think I should call my RE? I really appreciate your comments and feedback.

By the way, I of course POAS again this evening. I did not have anymore of the First Response HPT's so I used one of Dollar Store tests I bought earlier this week. Those had come back negative the last two days even with the First Response ones showing a positive. Well, tonight the Dollar Store HPT is positive.

We- I did the injections for several weeks and didn't have that, however, do you think he could have hit something? Where on your butt is he doing them? My DH always did them pretty much on my hip, not my butt. I never felt them, since I used the numbing cream and ice packs, but after a few days of doing them, I started getting achy in my hips, then it would go away for a few days, then come back. There were a couple of times where I bled a bit, but other than that nothing. I would give it until tomorrow and then call the doc tomorrow if it is still numb. Sorry I couldn't be more help. And, there was 2 times in the several weeks of injections that I felt it even after the cream and ice packs...no clue why I felt it, it was weird, so for me, that was normal.

LauraN-thank you so much for responding. dH is also doing them high up kind of the hip area. He and I are both nurses so he knows how to give good IM injections and I always apply the Lidocain and the ice on the right spot. Not sure what could be going on. I'll definantely all tomorrow.

We - I have the same experience. Plus, PIO injections make me lose weight and sometimes the area is itchy too. I asked about it and they weren't concerned. They said it is an area that has a lot of nerve endings and the PIO could be irritating those nerves. Numbness usually goes away in a day or two. Has even been helpful for the following day shot. Also, we have hit a nerve before and let me tell you - it hurts/stings/can't even explain how painful it is. Way worse than just getting the shot. You will NOT have any question if you truely hit the nerve. OCHY! If I were you, I would just call them to ask. They are switching me to some gel I get to put in my va jay jay! Should be interesting.
I also got the negative with the $ tests while getting a positive with the FR tests. I think $ store sticks are not as sensitive.

We, just curious, is there a benefit to doing the PIO injections as opposed to the suppositories?

Akdelp-thanks. As a nurse of course I know that and it makes sense but of course I didn't even think about it. I'll call tomorrow just to make sure but I'm sure that you are right.

Becca-studies show that the vaginal gel or vaginal suppository work just as well as PIO. Last cycle I used the vaginal gel and got pregnant but MC at 4 1/2 weeks. My RE could not explain why the MC after such great Betas (275 and then 4 days later 1513). The only issue with vaginal progesterone is yha it is not observed into the bloodstream thus you really can not get any indication of how much of the gel is bring obsorbed. With the PIO the doctor is able to dp blood work to check the progesterone levels am make changes to the dosage as needed because the PIO is absorbed into the blood. Given the MC last cycle and the added stress of not knowing why it happened, I just felt much safer doing PIO this time. I judt have a feeling that low progesterone levels may hsve played a role in the MC but we will never know. Hope I was able to answer your question.

Yes you did answer my question, thank you very much. When I used the suppositories I had an issue with some of it coming back out, soon after it was inserted. I think I will ask my RE about the injections.
