I posted this over on your general forum thread too, but I can't say it too many times....

omg omg omg omg omg.....I'm so excited I can't stand it.....I just knew it....Okay, I'm pinching you from LA to vegas.....a faint line is a line - - and we know what that means....moreover, since you had no ER, we know there can't be any hcg residual, so I'll say it again....A LINE IS A LINE NO MATTER HOW FAINT! Woo hoo!

Keep us posted on Sunday, but it looks like great news and it will just be a formality to get it from the RE.

Congrat's!

Hi All -

Well yesterday didn't quite go as expected. We went in planning on getting 10 follicles and when they told me there were only able to get 3, I immediately started crying. I couldn't understand what happened. They stimmed me for 2 extra days, how could this be? Well they started asking my dh and myself if I took my shot on time. Well, I am the one who counts down the seconds and have taken this thing 5 times now I know what I'm doing. So, they did a blood test and did find hcg in my system so they said it wasn't that. They said that it is empty follicle syndrome. They've seen this before where a lady had 20 follicles and 0 eggs.

So, I am waiting and praying so hard that these were mature eggs and that they fertalize! I know it only takes one but I am just praying I get that!!! I have this darn phone attached to my hip waiting for the call!

So, please, please, please pray extra hard for us today!

I'll keep ya posted!

Emily - this is EXACTLY what happened to me on this last cycle. The day of my trigger, the ultrasound showed 13 follies - most between 18-22 mm. But after ER, when I was barely waking up, I heard the doctor say they only got 3 eggs and I just started crying. I couldn't understand what could have happened but I was devastated. As you say, I finally figured out about this 'empty follicle syndrome', although I found that the follicles really aren't empty at all and instead what it means is that the egg is too tightly attached to the wall of the follicle and cannot be removed, unless (rare) you actually ovulate before the ER. Otherwise (and more likely) there are three different potential issues - 1. eggs were overly matured, 2. eggs were under mature (not likely for me and it sounds not likely for you either), 3. something went wrong with the hcg shot (either not given completely, on time, or the hcg itself was just bad.) For me, we think it was either overly mature (so many of my follies were over 20 mm and 18 mm at trigger is more ideal OR the hcg itself was bad. I know (as it sounds like you do too) that we gave the hcg shot perfectly and right on time, but I think the REs don't like to explore the fact that possibly (and probably more likely) the eggs were over or under matured. We'll never know for sure, as you probably won't either.

However, after all the heartache, all 3 eggs fertilized and they were the best quality embies we ever had....the rest you know.

So, I will keep praying for you that your eggs will all fertilize and be strong and healthy, ready to come home to you. Are you having a 3 - day transfer or blast transfer? I'm keeping everything crossed for you! Please try to keep up your spirits, because there's plenty of ladies that have gotten pregnant with 3 or even fewer embies!

Suzhan-

You have made me feel so incredibly good. I actually think that they were too big. Because they stimmed me for 2 extra days, I think the big ones just got too big and I pray the smaller ones caught up!

So, I finally got a call back from the nurse and she had NO news for me. She said the embryologist came and went and never said anything to her or the doctor. She said that I should have a lot of hope bacause if something went wrong the embryologist would have told the dr. So, the embryologist will be in again tomorrow and they will call me in the a.m. I am taking that to be positive and that's all I can do!

I think because everything last time went textbook and it didn't work and this time everything has gone haywire I know it's going to work! Isn't that the way it usually turns out!!!

I will keep you all posted!

Please pray for us!!!!

Mia ----- I am sooooooooo happy for you, it could not be anything else, because this is the success thread and everybody here gets pregnant! You made my day today, I am sure they will confirm it tomorrow, I will be on pins and needles!!! Here we go, more babies of 2007! Yupee!!!!Image

Emily ----- I know this is hard, but don't lose your faith, there is still a pretty good chance for a happy ending, look at Suzhan! And this thread is the successful one, so everyone gets pregnant, soon or later!Image Also, I don't like being called something (like having empty follicle syndrom). They told me I was a "very poor responder to stimulation" and here I am pregnant with twins...

Lots of good luck and baby dust to you both!!!! Lola

Emily-
My story was different as I had more eggs retrieved yet at the end of it I only had two that fertilzed. I was soooo sad and cried as I had wanted to freeze and or have a better chance on getting pregnant. Well, i got pregnant so as long as one of yours fertilizes, you are in the same boat as I was and I am in my last trimester. I truely think (I also feel this way about natural pregnancies) that it all works out how it is supposed too. If you have one might turn out the same as if someone had 20. I also think it is a good sign as well that the embroyogist did not say anything because at this point, if they were not on their way to fertilization, you would know. Good luck and thinking of you!!!

Sam

Mia - Good luck today! I am so happy for you regarding your faint line. This so awesome and all I can think is that the results of your beta is just going to confirm your hpt! Please let us know when you are ready because you are so in my thoughts right now. Thank you for your good wishes.

Emily - Please don't get discouraged. As you mentioned, the embryologist did not say anything to the RE or the nurse so that means no news is good news. As long as at least one fertilizes, that is all that matters. Baby dust is coming your way.

Rittie - Glad to see that you are doing well. I can't believe you will be at 28 weeks on Monday. It seems as if things are coming along nicely regarding the nursery, that must be so exciting.

Lola - I am glad you enjoyed your massage, it sounds as if it was exactly what you needed. Good for your DH for getting it for you.

Suzhan - I am glad your test results were negative. That must have been a big relief for you. I hope your nausea is getting better.

Enjoy Superbowl Sunday Ladies.

Hi All-

Ok, out of the 3 they said that 1 split and 1 is lagging behind. So, I am shaking writing this right now cuz it only takes 1!!!! Id like both to make it to increase my odds but I will take anything at this point!

Mia- I am sorry that I haven't said it cuz I have been just a tad preoccupied, but I am soooo happy about your faint line!!!!! That is the best news and it gives me hope too!

To everyone else - I can't thank you enough for all your words of encouragement! I appreciate it more than you'll ever know!

Keep us in your prayers! Tomorrow will be the transfer day!

Image it's official, we have a BFP!!!!! I'm so happy! I was so excited to finally hear my RE tell me my test was positive, that I forgot to ask about my HCG count. oh well, I have a BT on Tuesday I will ask about it then. He said that in about 6 days we'll be able to see if there is 1 or 2. Thanks for all your support these past 6-7 months. I don't think i could of kept my sanity without you.

Emily, no worries, I know this is a very anxious time for you. I'm rooting for your embies to keep growing. Best of luck with transfer and sticky baby dust to you!

Mia - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy for you. You definitely proved that the third time is the charm. Here is to a nice and wonderful 9 months and may you get nice and big :D :D :D .

Emily - Good luck tomorrow. I will be thinking of you. I do hope the other one splits however as I am sure you have heard many times, it only takes one. Let us know how it goes when you get a chance.

Lola - Thank you for your good wishes. I am a little anxious. Tuesday is going to be a horrible day until I get home. My DH wants me to have the clinic leave a message on our home machine so that we can both hear the news at the same time rather than have them call me at work like they normally do. My day at work is going to drag so slowly and I am sure that I will not be very focused either.
