Walsh, sorry to hear about what is happening. I suppose you should follow doctor's orders. I realize you want to do complete bedrest anyway, but how about modified bedrest? Don't lay around all day & night...get up and do small things, like go to the mailbox, shower & get ready, do a minor project around the house, sit outside, take a short walk, etc. That way you are getting circulation and getting around & your doc won't worry about clots in your legs from bedrest....and you'll feel good because your still taking it really easy.

I will say a prayer for you. Keep positive and calm...don't stress & worry (I know that's hard)....but you have to do that for you body & for your baby. Take care of yourself!

Walsh - I agree with Kristi...all you can do is listen to the Doc & try to stay calm. I know it's hard, but I will keep all my positive thoughts with you until you get the all clear.

I feel like I haven't posted for ages.... I had a bout of Gastro which gave me diarrhea every 30-60 minutes for 4 days. It has been a nightmare, and I've been so worried about the baby not getting any food/nutrients. Just getting over it all now and starting to eat again, which is a relief. Never in my life did I think I would be unhappy about losing 4kgs, but now is not really the time I want to lose weight. Baby was fine, although I haven't felt her the last couple of days, so Doc might give me another check up tonight.

I have thought a lot about our 1 little frostie - I think I want to try it very soon after the munchkin is born, and then never think about IVF again. It sounds dramatic, but being blessed with 1 healthy baby is enough for me to not put myself & DH through that rollercoaster again, and you never know, we may be one of those lucky ones that gets pg naturally some time in the future!

Hope everyone is well (better than me!).

Bella.

Lisa - thanks for the welcome. You'd think that 2nd time round I'd be much more chilled, but no such luck! Hopefully will be after hearing the heartbeat on Friday...

Walsh - hope you are feeling better. You be doing as your told now - the dr's know what they're talking about and will take no chances. I agree with Krista though and if you feel like getting up and walking about for 5 mins or so, then do it. My mum had placenta previa with both me and my sister and we were ok. Good luck with the test. We have decided to go with faith and not have it done...

Bella - what a nightmare getting that bug. I'm sure the baby is fine - it probably took any good stuff first and left you with nothing. Better get used to that

Hope all is well with everyone

KristiA, :D

I had my U/S yeterday and twin a weighs 12 oz, and twin b weighs 14 oz.....no signs of Downs detected on the U/S....

Heather :D

I had my blood test done and the results were that I had a 1/186 chance of having 1 or both with downs, had my thorough scan of the babies and there was no thinck nucheal fold on their necks, heart and arteries were just find and so were the length of their bones...

DH had an interview and testing for another job on the same day..but he managed to ace the test and made it in the nick of time before they called me back. We saw both of our little one's faces and bodies..amazing....twin b weighs 2 oz more but that's okay.....He's the stubborn acting one because he did not turn his body for the u/s tech, but managed to turn his head around and looked at the light with an annoyed gaze..then he turned back...twin a was laid back and relaxed....twin b just does not want to be bothered with all that stuff..just wants to sleep...He was so irritated that he started kicking me.....and we caught his tantrums on video.....I've been and will continue to pray for all of us....faith is a powerful tool to handle
BFP 3/17, 3/29 (3 beanies (4/7/06)Babies b & c heartbeats seen..baby a didn't make it

Bella - what a bummer about the gastro problem :( . Hope you are back to normal soon!

Ahart - glad to hear all is well. Sounds like your babies are definitely showing their little personalities already! How cool.

Walsh - my cousins wife has placenta privea. She was limited to 2 hrs on her feet per day and she had frequent ultra sounds, which she loved because she always got to see how her little girl was doing! She now has a happy, healthy, brilliant little 3 yr old girl so everything turned out well!
I know it's hard - but try to hang in there! It will all be worth it in the end!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Ahart, you used the word "he" regarding both twins, but you didn't mention that they were both boys!!! I saw it on the Due Date thread. So welcome to the twin boy club!!! Glad to hear all the testing went well too.

Ok, are you guys ready for this? My office gave me a surprise baby shower today!! What? Am I even pregnant? :) Since it's so early (isn't it early?) it sure surprised me. I got so many gifts it was unbelievable. And tons of matching or coordinating boys clothes...so cute! I was overwhelmed. It's finally our time everyone...we have to enjoy this...and I definately am!! I was so excited I came home and went through all the stuff again and then wrote thank you notes to each person!

One of the cards I received talked about how blessed I was...of course it made me cry!

Hi girls,

Kristia, what a lovely surprise!! We received our first gift of baby clothes this week - it all adds to making it feel more real. I am getting a bump now which is noticeable or not depending on what I wear. Still have not felt movement (placenta in front so might be a while) so it is all still feeling very surreal.

Best of luck Walsh - sending lots of positive vibes your way.

Howdy
Welcome Zoe and others. Congrats on the boys Ahart. The wee boy gang must almost be outnumbering the chicas huh?

Walsh, sorry to hear your having a bad time. Try to stay relaxed and enjoy the feet up. Your wee bub is in there for the longhaul, so trust your body and take it one day at a time.

Kirsti - baby showers already! Wow! Actually on smaller scale today someone at work gifted me a bright red little wool beanie that she had knitted for the baby! So cute! Like a fairy dolls size tea cosy! Extra lovely coz don't have mum here clicking away with any knitting needles!

"Dang" those front facing placentas huh. I have one too, but at 23 weeks am just starting to feel the little belly cartwheels couple of times a day, and just the other day there was this big old bump sticking right out ... I think she has her momma's booty and was poking her bum out!

Bella like you I am already figuring out when I could try again, I kind of want to just try and put it behind me too. I dont hold out too much hope with the 4 left as the quality is a lot poorer, and am not sure would do IVF again. No hope of natrual for me either, unless the plumbing somehow got unblocked! Libby do you know if most of the natural pregnancies after IVF, are experienced by those who had unexplained / hormonal or endo probs?

Kirsti and the shopping gang, evidently I am lagging in the shopping stakes, but we did buy our first big purchase today, a fantastic buggy, thats so modern and high tech it looks like you could practically take it go carting and then down the snow slopes! So excited I got it home, actually fixed it up myself, which is a revelation given I usually can't even get the Sky TV remote control sorted! (shouldnt admit that) and then wheeled it around the front room with the cats sitting in the bag carrier at the bottom. Tee hee!

As a money tip for those like me faced with the pain in the ass task of being inventive with the sponduliks, I emailed the factory and we got it direct from them at 50% discount as a "second", when the only "damage" was the fact it had been used in a photo shoot ... and they threw in free accessories with weather covers and nappy bags.

Sorry, blab blab blab blab blab. Hope you are all well.

Mel, your posts always crack me up. The knitted red wood beanie sounds soooo cute! That's a great gift and so unique, especially when hand-crafted. How special. Good job on the 50% sale too and the first big purchase. Sounds like my kind of deal.

Jamato, good luck with your scan today - let us know how it goes!

Hey Mel, I don't really know anything about conceiving after IVF... I do know someone who had unexplained infertility who fell pregnant naturally after IVF. For myself I don't hold out much hope since my endo has caused everything to be stuck together down there so tubes are a mess. I want to have 4 babies(!) and hopefully, like this time, each successive IVF will work first time! (fingers crossed). After that I will be having a hysto - well, that is what is recommended, but I still feel funny about it... I know lots of girls with endo who have become pg naturally though. There are a couple of girls on the first tri thread - Tammy and Zoe who got pg naturally after IVF attempts...not sure what their diagnosis were, but maybe they will have more of an idea?

Walsh, how are you going?

Have a great weekend girls!
