Question about "Streching feel", Is it early contr

Post by Prayinglady »

I am always a silent reader but just now have this feeling and am very confused. First Details:
TTC: 8 Years
Lost Right Tube (Ectopic)
Two unsuccessful IVF
Third IVF BFP (Thanking God for everything)
TWINS (11 weeks) :D
For a few days now I am having this strange "stretching feel" going onat different parts of the abdomen. A feeling that is difficult to explain. Please need some advise if this is normal or any signs of "early Contractions". Thanking in advance for any advise.

Hello prayinlady

I have been feeling "things " from week 5 until week 8. It did calm down but is staring again lately. It does not hurt, feels a bit like pulling. I guess it is very normal, so much happening in there!

You should not worry

COngratulations on the twins!

I am 15 weeks (16 on Wednesday) with twins. When I was 10 weeks I had tremendous pain on my left side. Went in to the dr who examined me, scanned the babies, and said the same thing, round ligament pain. Unlike the other ladies, mine did hurt bad. Had me in tears and I even missed work. This went on for 4 days.
Apparently this is normal. I have had a bit of dull stretching feelings since then, but not painful. When you are expecting twins, your uterus is 4-6 weeks bigger than your pregnancy. So for you at 10 weeks, your uterus should be measuring around 14-16 weeks. Think of how fast you are growing compared to someone expecting a singleton! Thank goodness that you are not having pain!

Hello

Congratulations on your twins.

I agree with all the others have said. It is perfectly normal to experience these pains/cramps. I was in so much pain in the beginning I was rushed to hospital with expected ectopic. Even now it feel like the baby has a knife sometimes and is giving me a stab or two! The midwife has said there's nothing to worry about, just growth spurts of the baby and your uterus expanding. Don't forget it's not just the babies it accommodates, you have all that fluid plus two placentas!

Don't worry about them but if they do concern you mention it to your midwife at your next appointment. You will have them all through your pregnancy.

Best of luck with everything
