IVF pregnancy different than regular?

Post by samandaw1 »

I am just wondering if any one knows if IVF pregnancy is different than regular? I have EVERY syptom known to man. I am not complaining but as I ask my friends they seemed to have none or half of what I have. I am not sure if this is just how I react to pregnancy as this is my first but wonerding if IVF is playing a part. I am almost at my 20th week.

Hi there,

Every pregnancy is different - even different pregnancies with the same person. You may just be one of these people who gets hit with symptoms badly... It's rotten luck that's it's not wearing off at 20 weeks though - I had a friend like that - I just told her to think about all the goodness the baby must be sucking out of her!!!!!!!!!

Is it a singleton or twins??

Hope you feel a bit better soon...

Hello

Sorry you're feeling so rotten. Like Zoe says no two pregnancies are the same and it's a shame you are still so bad at this stage. It definately doesn't have anything to do with the IVF. I used to mention it was an IVF pregnancy everytime I went to hospital or the midwife and they've all told me it makes no difference. The problem is conception then we are just the same as everyone else!

I hope you are feeling better soon. Maybe mention it to your midwife next time you see them.

Take care

Jo

Hi

Although I did have nausea all through pregnancy, It was only first thing on a morning and eased off as long as I ate. Otherwise, apart from some heartburn I had a very good pregnancy. Comparing this to 3 of my friends who had natural conceptions, mine was a breeze. All 3 of them seemed to really suffer various symptoms, so personally I think its down to the individual, not whether the baby was concieved naturally or not.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

Love kim
