Any tips on FAST weight lost?

Post by Pat19 »

Hi,

I would like to lose some weight before starting my treatment, I have PCOS and find it very difficult, has anyone got any tips for me? Oh and I'm not a great fan of excercise.

Pat I am on the same boat as you, I am having my ET next thursday actually and I decided to go on a diet last Monday  . I called the nurse and ask her if it was ok and she said yes, as long as I am eating healthy. Basically I am doing the low carb diet, which helps you lose weight quite fast, I am not sure I will go on after ET, probably not, but hopefully I can lose a couple of pounds in this 10 days so I have some cushion to go back up again ...
GOOD LUCK!!!, Let me know how it goes!!!

Actually, been looking at the weight lost program GI, not sure about it now, I have in the past lost lots of lbs with slim fast, so might go with that!!
Im gonna start after the week-end, I put on 14lbs with this IVF, and was probably about another 14lbs over anyway, so i need to lose 28 lbs!!
Yikes!!!
They say 2lb a week is good weight lose, so thats me dieting for the next 14weeks huh???

Im thinking about having one of these body wraps done too, you know where they say you lose inches of your waist, thighs, bum etc.....
Need to do something!!

Those body wraps simply suck out all your water and as soon as you have a new glass of it you are back to normal. I have never done it but one of my girlfriends LOVES them for date nights or boating days. Of course, she drinks very little those days but she feels better. She said she knows they don't really work but it just boosts her self image for a while.

Hi all...here's my two cents. IVF total F**** up my body. After my miscarriage I was 20lbs overweight. I started calorie counting and an exercise program, still only losing 1 lb a week....oh does that suck but it's alot healthier than going completey without 1 or many things. I have restricted myself to only brown rice or whole wheat bread/pasta, very limited red meat and veg dishes at least 2 weekly. I also do post on a weight loss sight, helps alot. Now that the drugs are out of my system I feel like a new women, I don't think I've ever been this healthy. Just signed up for a July cycle, had a bottle of wine (400 calories) to celebrate and help wipe away the memories of being a pin cushion and actually signing up for this again. Sorry for the rant and rambling.

Hi Girls,

I'm back !!!!

I can't recommend weight watchers more highly. It is not dieting but it is more like teaching you healthy habits that you can stick with even after weight loss. It is really easy and I don't personally know anyone who it hasn't worked for. Listen to this... My brothers Mother-in-law has just lost OVER 10 Stone on weight watchers and she looks amazing.

Thing to be careful with dieting is that cutting down isn't always enough as your body needs to keep motabilism going and by not eating it stops so your body goes into a panic and stores all the fat - bit like an animal hybernating. Weight watchers makes sure you eat enough, often more than you expect .

Also NEVER skip breakfast as that gets your motabilism started first thing in the am. Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and supper like a pauper.

The trouble i have with a lot of diets is that, they dont cater for Veggies!!

I dont eat any meat, and so often they tell you eat meats on certain diets...
Does any1 know any good veggie diet plans!!!

The thing is, i do think i do eat healthy already, i guess i might need MORE exercise!!

I have many friends and family that do weight watchers and have been very sucessful. I didn't consider it due to the cost and I'm a type A personality, it's got to be my program and I must control it. Yes I need to seek professional help. I use a lot of the same concepts as WW, actually I have taken the best (the parts I like) of the current diet programs and incorporated them into mine. But IVF, all of it; shots, pills, stress and rolacoaster, mess your body up. I never had a butt, now baby has serious back, I found celluite (sp?) in my calves.....not pretty. Good luck ladies, it's a constant struggle and the body issues don't help.

hi ladies, can i butt in and join you, i lost 14lb's before my last FET, and have managed to keep 10 off, i am starting again next week need another 20 off.
i alwaysdo a calorie controlled diet, and find that a calorie book and a good set of scales is all you need. i have juice and fruit for breakfast, salad and fruit for lunch, and then a healthy dinner, less carbohydrates ans more veg.i used to be a chef so cooking good meals is not a problem for me.

Nicolamark, as a veggie you should try gillian mckeiths you are what you eat diet book, as she does food combinig and a lot of her recipes are vegitarian, its good for a few weeks (4) as some of the recipes are horrible, find what you like best. but the results are fantastic.

good luck ladies i hope we can all beat the bulge.
PS its booze that puts my wheight on.don't do much exercize either.
