Grade 2 blastocysts with FET..Any success stories?

Post by Dexter »

Hi guys,

It's Dexter here. I'm back. Just wondering if anyone has any success stories with Grade 2 frozen blasts?

I promised myself I wasn't going to get all hooked on it this time but let's face it - it's impossible.

This is my 4th IVF transfer. I've done 2 fresh and this is my 2nd FET. I have 6 blasts on ice and today we put back 2 of them. Yes 2. The first time they have allowed me to do this. I am 36 and live in Australia.

I'm happy to say the first 2 survived the thaw so I still have 4 left. The embryologist told me they were both Grade 2. One of them survived 100% cells intact and the second was 90% cell intact. I don't know what to make of this..? Has anyone had success from a similar situation? One thing they did this time that we've never done before is assisted hatching and both blasts were coming out of the zona exterior. I believe this is a good sign.

I guess I am now on the 12 day wait. My beta is next Sat the 24th Nov. You build up all your strength, getting over all the disappointments and then you subject yourself to the rollercoaster again. I guess that's what I'm scared of most. The emotional turmoil over the next few weeks.

I hope someone has some good news to share.

Thanks for reading..

Dexter xx

Hi dexter, sorry i can't help, my clinic don't do blasts. However usually as long as the embryo's don't lose more than 20% during the thaw they are good to use. They sound good quality, good luck to you. Fingers crossed.
Take it easy.

Hi Dexter,

Don't know if you remember me but we cycled together on the Aug/Sept thread. I just wanted to wish you the best on your FET. I haven't experienced one personally (I have 1 frozen embie blast) but I hope to if my fresh cycle doesn't work out. Sounds like you have an excellant chance with two beautiful embies. I understand your caution and that's exactly how I'm feeling now. It's worth it in the end but so very hard to try.

Praying for your BFP.

Hi Dexter,

I never made it past stimming...I got cancelled in July and when we cycled together. I got a whole new protocol. I'm on the bcp now. So, you won't be far behind me. My ER (hopefully) is for Dec 13th. I'm petrified. Let me know how everything is going. If no go this time, I may be doing a FET cycle a little bit after you!
