.....you can hire baby equipment in England, eg cots, car seats, other big essentials?

I am English living in Australia and all going well, plan to take the new bubs over at the end of 2008 when he or she will be about 6 months old. Here in Oz you can hire just about anything and wondering if it's the same over there.

Any info/websites gratefully received. Thanks a million.
