Hi Lisa
I'm having IUI next month using gonal F and clomid we are due to start around the 24th aswell! so we can go through it together, I've had 1 unsuccessful IVF and doc thought it was worth trying something different so he suggested IUI. Keep in touch and we can compare notes!
Aly

Lorraine - I'll second that mate!

Hi lisa - you'll find the side effects pretty minimal - at least I did. The only stuff that got to me was the progesterone at the end, which just made me v hormonal and feor a few weeks after I stopped taking it I have to say.

I'm assuming that you have male factor problems?? We had ICSI in June - it didnt work and we are considering donor sperm as an option in the future. Would love to chat to you about it anytime. Did it take you a long time to decide or wass it something that you just knew was the right option for you? Do you think you will tell anyone? I REALLY hope you dont mind me asking the questions.

I wont be able to be your cycle buddy , but very happy to chat anyway!

Take care

cazx

Aly - thanks for your message, I'm not sure which drugs I'm taking yet, awaiting the prescription from the consultant - but am due to start sniffing on the 24th! it's sniffing to down reg and then injecting after the baseline scan - does that make sense?

Caz
Thanks for your message. I've just read your thread with Becky and it was interesting to read your thoughts and confusions regarding DI. I am in quite an unusual position as my step-daugther is a result of DI and for as long as Ive known my husband I've known that DI would be our only option. Yes I had questions, yes I done loads of reading and we've talked it through loads but what I've got is the evidence that DI can and does have positive outcomes. My dh could not love his daughter anymore - he is her dad. She will be five next month and this last week we started to tell her about DI. We had this excellent book from the DC Network and she grasped the idea so quickly! she knows of the kind men who helped mummy and daddy out. I strongly believe that honesty is the best policy. Children need to grow up in a stable relationship - one that is built on trust. To keep such a vital secret i think would cause nothing but pain and hurt.
As I've said, I start sniffing on the 24th and yes it won't be easy but I shall remain positive. We're also in a lucky position because we've been able to use the same donor as for my step-daugther - that really did make a difference to my dh.

Hope this helps answer some of your questions. Would love to chat more
Take care, Lisa x

Alypraying

Just catching up with you - how have you been? are you all ready to start down reg-ing this next week. We're cutting things a bit fine here, my drugs arrive on Tuesday and I start sniffing on Wednesday!! My prescription says buserelin (!) nasal spray.

As I've said before, I'm new to all of this and so don't really know what to expect. I've got my first baseline on the 16th October and if things go well, insemination on the 27th Oct which is excellent timing because it'll be half term and I'll be able to relax a bit more (yes, I'm a teacher!)

Oh well, it would be great to hear from you or anyone else who is in the same cycle.

Love
Lisa

Hi Lisa
How you doing, I'm not down reggiing this time so grateful for that! waiting for AF at the moment so that I can start hopefully will come on on Tuesday then I go to the clinic on Friday for a scan to see if I have any cysts if not we start injecting! have never done the burselin sniffing thing so good luck on that one lots of the girls have so I'm sure you can get advice. I must say I'm really nervous this time. They are hoping to stimulate me just enough so that I produce 3 eggs, if the over stim we can't have the IUI it's a really nightmare! Nice to know we can compare notes, hope you down reg goes OK keep in touch
Aly
xx
