This is my first time posting on this message board but I have done my research and all the ladies on this board seem so nice and positive. So this week I have a consultation with the doctor to start my first IVF. I am very scared, nervous, excited and confused. Any help would be very greatly appciated. What can I expect to go through my first cycle from start to finish. My husband and I have been trying for two years now. I am 24 yrs old and fine and he is 24 with low sperm.
This process can be daunting, but if you've been looking around, there are lots of us out here with infertility issues of all kinds - but a lot of success as well.
you are very young and as the prognosis is dh's sperm # - you should have a great chance for successful IVF.-
do you have a start date for treatment? your REs ( reproductive endocrinologists) should walk you through the process, but it really is so much to do with emotions - that is the part where you'll need support from dh and if you have friends or family with whom you'd like to share this, their support will be important, too. Some women choose not to share as it is so painful if it's a BFN. Of course that's where getting linked up with a stimming group can be great- you are all going through the same scary stuff together - needles, suppositories, egg collection, waiting -
I chose to tell a few friends and family what was going on, because I wanted them to know why I was acting so odd - and for the most part, they were extremely supportive - on the other hand, some were calling to find out if I was BFP - just set your boundaries you know - "don't ask me, I'll let you know when I'm ready" etc
I wish you great success and hope you'll join up with a buddies group- my girls are wonderful, and I often wonder how i'd have made it through without my IVF board buddies

Thank you I couldn't have said it better, that is exactly how I am feeling. I''ve only told a couple of family members and since I am on the younger side I have no friends that can relate at all! But you seem to be the perfect support I am looking for I have been lurking around and the medication I hear about is terrifying me! How long does the whole process take? When do you start?
Nice to meet someone who is in the same boat. I'm older, 34, but this is my First IVF. I start my pills today. My doctor told that is gonna be like 2 month for all the process. I mean, 28 days of pills, 2 weeks injections, then the retrieval, 5 days incubation, then the implantation. And then the most dificult part, 2 weeks waiting to know if its work.
Did you start your pills yet? I hope you the best.
