Ghost FET - question re transfer 1 or 2 and immune disorder

Post by joyanna »

Hello.

I am hoping to do an FET in October. I have 2 frozen blasts. I was thinking of just transferring 1 (assuming that the first one survives the thaw and I don't have to thaw number two). Do you know if there is any theory that supports a single embyro transfer?

Also, my clinic is doing tests to look at immune disorders - given my 3 failed fets and 2 miscarriages they have said that they need to re-do tests (even though during my last fresh ivf I was on steroids called prednisolone and aspirin - I think they are talking of adding heparin to the next cycle). What treatment do you use at your clinic during FETS and fresh IVF for patients with immune disorder?

Thank you so much for your help.

Single embryo transfer can make a lot of sense, especially if you prefer to just have one child.

Your clinic should have some statistics on the twin rate when they transfer 2 thawed blasts.

The docs I work with are skeptical of much of the literature regarding immune effects on IVF. We don't do the steroids or the aspirin.
