beta question, can anyone help?

Post by souris »

Hello,

I have my BFP on this cycle, IVF number 7!

I hag EC on 25/06/09 then a 3 day transfer on 28/06/09 (3 embryos)

My doc made me go for an early beta (i dont know why) on 06/07/09.
I did not expect a postive result at all, but it came back at 78.8!
I went back the following day 07/07/09 and it had more than doubled at 180. I had another blood done yesterday 10/07/09 and it is 1022.

I got pregnant twice with IVF before (but miscarried) and if I compare my beta, those one seems soooo high!
Normally on 15DPO i was around 180/200 but this time 1022!

I am very happy but a bit worried that it is so high, I will be thrilled with multiples, but could be such high number something else?

Thanks for your help!

Wow-
Sounds great, and sounds like it can be multiples! No matter what, I'm holding good 'healthy pregnancy' thoughts for you. All the best!

Just to try and allay your fears further....

It's quite possible that one of the little beans implanted, then the other implanted a few days after, and hence, the jump in beta. Again, wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy!

Could be multiples or a really strong singleton. Won't be able to tell till the U/S. Congrats on your BFP. Wishing you a H&H9M. Keep us posted when you have your u/s.

180-200 would be low for that point, and would correspond with an increased risk of miscarriage, as you saw. A reading of 1022 is obviously much better, with lower risk of miscarriage.

It could easily be twins, but no way to be sure until the ultrasound. Could be a single.

Something else? Like a molar? Your readings are high and strong, but not all that high. A mole is unlikely.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Hi Souris, firstly huge congratulations to you. I think we cycled together a few years back. I am so pleased for you, good strong numbers whatever you are having 1,2,or3 at least you know your chances are much better with these numbers. My beta at 15 days past ovulation was 569 i think, and i got my precious twin boys, from 2 embies.
can,t wait to find out how many, take care and relax if you can.

Congrats! I hope its not 3 as that becomes risky! Two would be great but a singleton is the safest way to get a healthy baby. I think the numbers sound like 2.

I have been around this board way too long and have seen too many sad sad sad stories with triplets, so please please don't be disappointed if its just 1 or 2.

My heart has been crushed many times over now from friends on the board who lost babies when they tried to carry more than two...not to be a downer, but after that, I get a little bummed when people are excited about trips.
