I am currently 15 weeks pregnant with twins. I have been on the January 2010 thread, but I wanted to see if any others having twins are around the same time are out there. My 40 wk due date is Jan 28th, which after talking to OB and reading, there is no way I will make it till then. My high risk OB's goal would be to carry 37 weeks which puts me @ Jan. 7th, but she also said that most twins/multiple are born 34-37 with a stat average of 35 1/2, so I guess the end of Dec is also possible. Anyway- would love to get to know any of you that are carrying twins/multiples due in Dec or Jan. The only other twin thread I saw seems to be new mommies that are well past the morning sickness, tummy growing, anxiety, excitement, etc... that I am experiencing.
I remember when we were cycling together back in may! Wow, how time flies. I am expecting twins and the current 40wk due date is Feb 10th. However, I am certain I will not make it to that point. I am praying I can hold onto them until the end of January!
Hi faith. My twins are due Dec 17th. But I could have them at any time! I've had some complications and so right now our first goal is to make it to 24 weeks which is the end of August. Of course that would be super early still and they would only have about 50% chance of survival so then our next goal would be 28 weeks, end of Sept, which would give us a 80-90%.
So what I'm trying to say is I have no clue when I'll be delivering the little ones . I really don't expect to make it until Dec but I would love to get to at least mid-Oct.

Hello I am pregnant with twins also my due date is Feb 2 but I probably go to the 1st or 2nd week in january. I am getting reall excited these days as my tummy is growing and my morning sickness is fading a little.
Seems I'm the furthest along so far. Can't say that I experienced much morning sickness surprisingly. Just exhausted. In the latest weeks, sleep time has been the worse for me probably. I can't seem to get this belly comfy! I absolutely can't live without my wedge pillow. If you don't have one, please invest in it. It's tiny and cheap and so worth it. I also have a body pillow and boppy cuddle buddy (which is my least favorite).
The best thing about being pregnant with twins is the constant monitoring. Things were caught that wouldn't have been if I wasn't being seen a little more often than someone carrying a singleton. So I'm truly lucky for that!
Other than that, I can tell you that my belly really popped around week 18-19 and I felt the first kicks around that time too. I struggle turning in bed, getting out of bed, getting off the couch, getting in and out of the car and anything that causes me to use a muscle, lol
I wouldn't trade carrying these 2 for anything in the world though

i am 17 weeks with twins due jan. 15th my goal is 38 weeks (to get past christmas holidays) so far no complications. am so glad the exhaustion/ all day sickness is gone. i also have a 17 month old so itshard being sick and chasing him.
mom2luke, my u/s tech actually detected the boy at 13 wks!!! Of course at that time it was a "I'm PRETTY SURE it's a boy". The girl was detected around 15 weeks. My official level 2 was at 18 weeks where they confirmed a boy and girl.

Wow- I am so excited to have found other mommies expecting twins around the same time. So great! I am supposed to find out the sex of each next Friday- can't wait. My high risk OB gave us an early prediction at my 12 wk u/s of 1 boy and 1 girl. Trying not to get too happy, but how perfect would that be? (btw- these will be our first) According to some ladies in the waiting room she has a reputation for being accurate that early. But, DH and I are not allowing ourselves to get excited yet or decorate, talk names, etc.. until we get confirmation next week. After all we have been through we are just blessed to be pregnant, we will love whatever combo the lord has chosen.
I do recognize some of you from the IVF boards, glad to catch up:)
Anyone else been told to eat 100 grams of protein per day with twins? My high risk OB did, and I have been trying my best, but that's alot of protein!!
btw- I am 15 wks and already have a bump, can't get comfy at night either. but otherwise thankful my terrible 1st trimester sickness is gone:)
cymplicity27- you are in my prayers to make it past your goals and carry those babies as close to 30+ wks as possible.
Let's try to keep this board going- updates and support will help us all!
Mind if I join in? My official 40 week due date is Feb 8, 2010 however I think we will be an "end of January" family too. I am 1 day shy of 14 weeks now and the m/s has subsided nicely (still pops it's nasty head up at times) but the exhaustion and "can't get comfy" feeling is setting in. We saw the little ones on Monday's U/S and baby B is all wiggles. I hope he/she gets that out of their system before I can start feeling it all the time. LOL
Thank you for the great idea for this thread.. it really helps talking to other twin moms to know we are not going through this alone
we have our big u/s tuesday the 18th. although i don't want to know the sexes DH does so we will find out then. i would love 1 boy/1 girl.
so questions:
anyone have ridiculous nose bleeds?? mine has been bleeding for almost a month. i know its 'cause of extra hormones but still.
how much weight has everyone gained? i have gained minimum--maybe 5 pounds but i tend to gain later in my pregnancy. 3 docs told me 35 pounds was enough and thats exactly what i gained with my first so...
my ob said as long as my pregnancy con'ts to go well i don't need to go see high risk OB. i took one glucsoe test, assuming i passed, haven't heard otherwise and will get the major bloodwork done in 2 weeks as well. (i am totally blanking on what its called) if that comes back irregular they will move me to high risk. otherwis am finally feeling like a human again!!
mom2luke- I was told I needed to gain close to 40 pounds. Specifically- 24 lbs by wk 24 and 1 pound per week after that. I am seeing a high risk OB and regular OB. That is my OB'S protocol for all twin/multiple pregnancies- problems or not. I didn't question it, b/c DH likes the extra attention. So far I have gained less than 10lbs, but added to the 12 I gained during my IVF cycle- I look quite different than before. A noticiable bump.
Others- what are your weight gain goals set by your OB's?
I haven't had nosebleeds, but I have been super stuffy- blowing alot. I read that both are normal. Although I know nosebleeds that often are no fun:( hope the go away soon for you.
In anticipation of wanting to startdecorating as soon as I know the sex of my little ones, my weekend project is to clean out the closet full of junk in the bedroom that will soon be the nursery:) Yucky project, but I don't think I have ever had a better reason for cleaning out a closet:)
Hope all you ladies are feeling good and have a great Sat!
I'm in week 21 and have only gained about 13 pounds since the start of pregnancy. I had gained about 15 in the past year prior to this though.
No nosebleeds, just congestion.
I'm seeing a number of doctors since I've had to get this cerclage and what not. For the past few months I've been seen weekly at different places. I guess the university doc is considered my high-risk doc.
faith77, thanks for your prayers! I haven't been told to eat more protein. I was told by my high risk doc last week that the fact that I'm still pregnant I'm doing something right so just keep doing whatever it is I'm doing

I'm 23 weeks pregnant with twins. Cymplicity and I have been chatting on the December thread. My due date is Dec 5th but will probably have the twins in November. I had partial placenta previa around 12 weeks but everything seems to be ok now. At my anatomy scan, we found out we're having boy/girl twins! Like cymplicity said, sleeping has been the worst part for me. I can't get my stomach comfy and my hips hurt a lot. I really started feeling movement around 19 weeks but felt like bubbles. Once I got to 20 and 21 weeks, I could feel stronger kicks. Sometimes I think I can tell when they have hiccups. Well, I will try to post when I can. I am still tired a lot.

I have had like three nose bleeds and sinus headaches
I just pray that my babies are just healthy babies and growing on target
I cannot wait to find out so I can start decorating myself that is the best!
