Started Acupuncture Today!

I am 38 and have been ttc since May 09. I have done clomid...developed a cyst...went on BC. Did 10 days of stim...and only produced 1 egg...cancel IVF had an IUI...failed. Then a polyp on my uterus...BC again...polyp removed...BC again. Then...10 more days of stim and only 2 follicles...IVF cancelled...IUI failed. So far, my infertility is unexplained. Had blood test today to check FSH.

So, now I have decided to try acupuncture and herbs. The DR specializes in fertility and I am excited about trying things his way. There's alot more to it than just the needles and herbs though. He told me to gain 5lbs and that my cholesterol level should be elevated. He said to wear socks and keep my feet warm. I'm not supposed to eat or drink ANYTHING cold. I have to take my temp every morning and record it along with cervical mucous if there is any. He also said that after intercourse that i should lay in bed for 3 hours and after to sit in a bath to wash away the bacteria. My husband should also shower before intercourse to prevent infection because of the 3 hr wait and risk of UTI. He answered alot of questions and explained everything in detail.

I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and to what extent and if there was success? There were hundreds of baby photos and thank-you cards in the lobby of his office.

I thought that I would share, just in case it works. I will keep everyone posted.

I went for another treatment today and it went well. I took my temperature chart and he said that my temp should be lower at this point in my cycle. Probably because I am sleeping with a down comforter and was wearing socks to bed. He said to use a lighter blanket and no socks...that I was cooking my eggs. My temp is supposed to be low until ovulation. I know it all sounds a little crazy, but at this point what do I have to lose?

I will be having another treatment next week and I will be doing an IUI soon. I will keep everyone posted on the results.

I have done acupuncture, but nothing to the extent that you are doing, Karin. I fully believe in it 100% and think that it is WELL worth the shot. I will be following your SUCCESS!! Please keep us updated. Sending you much positive Qi!

I will keep everyone updated on my progress. I go to my RE and my acupuncturist on Tuesday. I am planning an IUI for later in the week if everything checks out okay. I am more hopeful than I have been in quite some time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying that this will be the one.

I hope that you get the BFP that you've been working so hard for. Have faith.
