I wanted to reach out to my fellow IVF sisters. This is my first IVF that I was successful with proceeding to the egg transfer and it's been a week since the transfer. First, I want to just say that no one makes a very big deal about those progesterone shots w/ the one and half inch needle but I just want to put it out there that I can’t wait to be done with them. My husband really hates administering them too. The first time he had to do it he didn't stretch the skin and dart it so the needle literally bent and pricked ...it hurt so bad we both cried! Many of my co-workers have said "you alright? you're walking funny". The first response that came to mind was "oh, I'm really into this spinning class at the gym and I've been over-doing it on the bike."
I've just started the Vivelle Dot (estrogen) today and immediately I noticed I feel really crampy like I'm about to get my period. Have others had the same symptoms?
I'm trying not to over analyze every little cramp or pain but it's hard not too.
I have to agree … I hated those Progesterone IM shots. I vowed I would never use them again!
I am not familiar w/ the type of estrogen replacement that you are using because I used Delestrogen injections, so I can’t help w/ that but I wish you good luck! If you Google the type of estrogen you are using and look under the prescribing information section, it will have the most common side effect. But, make sure you don’t panic over all the side effects that you read because legally a pharmaceutical company has to report every side effect that is report during clinical trials even if it has nothing to do w/ the actual drug.

Thanks all!
The progesterone shots are painful. There are many alternatives to the shots.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
I'm new to this board. But to answer your question, the patches do make me feel crampy..funny I just said that to my DH...I'm on 4 every other day & the shots..hate the shots, but honestly, my hubby has such a soft touch...it doesn't hurt at all, barely a pinch...now the soreness afterwards can suck...but that's even getting better.
ME 35 PCOS (had 1 MC in 5/07, got preg on our own)
DH 45 normal
IUI 5/09 - BFN
IUI 7/09 - BFN
IVF cycle 1/had ER 16 mature, 9 fert, 3 FE but no ET, fibroids 2 big, need surgery
FET #1 4/19
Beta#1 on 4/29-149-BFP Beta#2 5/3-811,beta#3 5/6-2589
Oh, I forgot to mention, I started them on 4/1 & started the shots this past wednesday, we're doing our 1st transfer tomorrow which is a day 5 FET (I had to have fibroids removed after my ER last oct). The other thing I hate about the patch is that the adhesive is hard to come off...but hey this beats the needles. Also as far as the shot...i think that darting stuff is crap....my husband doesn't do that at all he goes in very gently, he does pull the skin, then he just gently inserts it...it's actually so much better than the nurses.

HI all,
I'm new to this board, but wanted to reply to the women who is on Vivelle patches, that when I started them too I felt crampy! I started them satruday 4/24 and am using 2 every other day. I have been looking on line for anyone else who is feeling this way too and was happy to hear someone else has those symptoms. Although I haven't found anywhere where that is a symptom of those patches. Regarding the PIO shots....I'm not findging the PIO shots that bad at all...try icing the area for a few minutes. The way my husband does it doesn't hurt at all...he darts it in. Then immediately I put a heating pad on it for 10 min to dispurse the oil so it doesn't get all lumped up in your muscle, which causes a lot of the pain when you get the injections if you hit one of those lumps AND helps it from getting so sore. Hope this helps. Keep the faith and best of luck to everyone on here! I have my PG test tomorrow! Say a prayer!!!
First ever on a blog-third try at IVF...2 failed attempts. I find out sunday if this one is successful -petrified! I am SO GLAD some of you started experiencing cramping with the vivelle dots!!! I went into panick mode when i started cramping and twinging and thought "i can't deal with this!" assuming it was the onset of my period...but then i related the cramping to when i started the dots. So happy i looked this up! Good luck to all of you!
