Not sure if any of you will remember me....

Post by MichelleA »

Hi
It has been over 6 months since I last posted and as I am hopefully about to start my injections on Thursday I thought it high time I logged back on. I first started posting in September 2002 when I started my first IVF tmt which was positive, but unfortunately nothing developed in the sac and I miscarried. My second tmt was a negative in June 2003 and since then I've taken a break from IVF as it was totally taking over our lives. Anyway I am delighted to be back and look forward to cycling with lots of you in January. I have been doing accupuncture for the past 7 months or so and really hope that it helps.
I must admit that although I haven't been posting I still read all your messages regularly and am so thrilled that so many have made it over to the other side - particularly Fiona-LK! You are an inspiration to us all and I know a lot more of us will be joining you in 2004.
Our history is that I have PCOS and my Dh is normal and we are at Guys in London.
One quick :?:, on our previous 2 attempts I did not take baby aspirin, but when I asked the hospital about this tmt they said that it was totally up to me - lot of bloody help that is! I have decided to take it and was just wondering when I should start, I've been sniffing for almost 2 weeks and will hopefully start injecting on Thursday when I have a scan....any advice greatly appreciated.
Wishing you all a wonderful 2004 and may all our dreams come true.
Love, Michelle x :)

Hi Michelle
Hope you doing OK very brave having acupunctue thought about it but have nevry had a go! Anyway I have PCOS although I don't have any symptoms, my ovaries just respond as if they are polycystic strange I know! I was wondering what your embryo quality was like as mine is pretty poor any they think this is a result of the PCOS also did you produce loads of eggs? As far as the aspirin is concerned I'm taking it next time, it can't hurt. I'm due to have IUI this month have you tried this?
Right best get on you should join the JCB thread I find it very helpful and really supportive.
take care and fingers crossed!

Hi Shell,

I just want to wish you all the luck in the world with your next cycle and also to anyone else.

I did take the Aspirin and I think I started it when I was injecting but to be honest I am not 100% sure now  no help am I really.

My clinic strongly recommended to me so I followed what they said and it worked for me.

Also I'm not sure if you was advised but don't have a bath when you have had ET just shower.

I can proudly say it worked for me and I am just waiting for my miracle baby to be born.

Love
Shell.

Dear Michelle,

I hope you remember me, we cycled together in June. I am thrilled to read your post and wanted to wish you all the very best. I look forward to reading your posts about your progress. I have all my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you.... Keep positive. Sorry I don't know much about aspirin.. my clinic said that it would not have made any difference to me as the tests showed that my uterus was dense enough ( I think they said that ) to be honest did not understand it much... again - not much help.
All my positives thoughts will be with you.
Keep us updated.
Love

hi Michelle

Glad you are back to have another go - lets hope this is the one!!!

I had a failed tmt in March last year and then had a second go in Sept. I asked my consultant about asprin and they said pretty much the same as yours, they don't see that it makes any difference so it was up to me. I took it. Once a day (75mg) after ET. I'm pleased (and very very lucky!) to report that it worked for me - I'm now 19 weeks pg with twins. I continued taking the asprin until I was 12 weeks.

I also avoided any baths on the second attempt - again my consultant said he didn't think it made any difference but I desperately wanted to feel I was doing something different.

The biggest thing I did differently the second time was chilled out a lot. I'd had reflexology (too much of a baby to have accupuncture, but I believe they both help with relaxation). I was convinced it hadn't worked so I wasn't as strict with myself about everything.......I guess it all comes down to luck and I truly hope it is third time lucky for you!!!

Good luck, I'll be watching.

OMG Michelle,

How fantastic it is to hear from you - I'm always quite wary contacting people when I know they need time out, but I do think about you and as Helen S (also from the very 'old' site) will tell you, I'm right back here with as much support as I can when you need it. And it sounds like you and Helen will be cycle buddies. 8)

I wish you all the very best of luck and I'll try and pop on to keep up to date with how you are doing - if you still have my phone numbers, you know you can call too.

Lots of Love

Hi Girls

I remember now how lovely it feels when people respond to you - I so appreciate it.

Aly, fortunately my embryo quality was quite good and I had roughly 8 or nine that fertilised each time ...both times I had 2 good grade ones replaced....unfortunately, though none of the others were good enough for freezing. Wish I knew why that was. Wishing you all the luck with your IUI and look forward to cycling together.

Gem, I went into Boots yesterday and asked for Baby Aspirin and they said there is no such thing....after seeing 2 Pharmacists and explaining why I wanted it, they gave me the 75mg dossage, which they said was the lowest. I'm going to start taking them tomorrow when I hope I'll be starting injecting. I really hate needles but so enjoy speaking to my acupuncturist that it is worth it.

Shell, I read your posts all the time - who doesn't! I'm so excited for you only a short time to go now....bet you can't wait.

Bel, wishing you loads of luck this year. Where are you in your tmt?

Urs, you crazy girl, of course I remember you, we cycled so closely last year! Are you starting tmt soon....would love to cycle together again.

Nikola, congratulations on your pregnancy, and twins - that really is my dream! I love hearing from the pg girls and it gives me so much hope and thank you for the aspirin advice.

Fiona, last and certainly not least! So lovely to hear from you. I'm really sorry that I sort of dropped off the face of the planet, but as you knew I really needed time out. We all know what it is like to become completley obsessed and I thought I ought to focus on other things. As I said earlier we are so, so thrilled for you and Les....and my what a fabulous bump you have got - yes I saw your piccie! Not too long now! And I love the name Xander....so cute.

A few weeks ago we got a puppy who is a naughty, playful black Lab called Woody. He has been such a great distraction and I think has really taken my mind off the tmt....anyway he is scratching at the kitchen door now and before he chews through it I better go and feed him!

Girls, great to be back and sending you all a huge cyber hug and love.

Michelle
I just wanted to pop into your thread and welcome you back, I wish you all the luck in the world and Im sure that taking time out and acupunture has helped alot, I dont know wether or not you saw my treads but I had my 3rd failed ICSI with donated eggs from my cousin in November , I feel like I have just come back to earth and it has been a toughy to get over as I was sure it was going to work as she has had 2 children herself, I have just booked a 5 star holiday in a spa resort with NO CHILDREN for September in Mexico , cause every year We put our lives on hold so this year I decided to book a holiday a luxury one at that cause we deserve it and go ahead with treatment and hopefully it will work! Then we will have to cancell the holiday but it would be worth it

I will be watching your threads
Good luck
