Aneuploidy/PGD in London. Advice please!

Post by JOH »

Hi my name is John. My wife and I have been attending St. Mary's Hospital in London for over 3 years now. During this period we have had 6 miscarriages but more to the point Helen has not been pregnant sense the Autumn of 2002.
We have recently repeated every test with positive outcomes. At least, we have been told that we should get pregnant! However, next month Helen will be 41. I'm 46! Both of us have no children and are planing to pursue preimplantation genetics diagnosis/aneuploidy.
The thing we find most strange about this pioneering service is the lack of up to the minute feedback - available on it.
We have got the stats. for 2001 from all the hospitals providing the service but I was wondering if you or anyone out there, might be able to direct us to where we may get more up to date information - as we are going to have to decide where we are going to book this service over the next six weeks.
Obviously we would like to make the best choice in advance and we would appreciate any advice you may be able to offer us.
Regards.

cant be of any specific help- but have you tried contacting the HFEA (website is www.hfea.org I think) - there might be something there -or else if you talk to them they could put you in the right direction
Good luck

Hi,
I don't know too much about the stats but I had PGD at the ARGC in London last October due to unexplained infertility & a previous IVF miscarriage.

Unfortunatley although PGD was carried out I miscarried again because they cannot test for all the chromosomes that might cause a problem.

The ARGC work with the Reproductive Genetics Institute in Chicago and their website is www.reproductivegenetics.com. There is some info on there which may help but I don't think there are any stats.

Good Luck!
