Any tips for the 2WW??

Post by Kel »

Hi Girls!

Just wondered if any of you girls could let me know what you did in the 2WW? Apart from resting and no strenuous stuff!!

I have read a thing about pineapple but don't know if it's true as I then read a comment about it being not such a good idea? I am trying to just use common sense  (ha ha!) and eat a good balanced diet, but if anyone could just let me know how they played it, that would be really appreciated!!

Thanks loads!
Kel x :D

Kel :!: ......What are you like????

You're right, a sensible balance is best. Although there are several ideas that regularly bounce around the board. No caffeine, no alcohol, no lifting, no vacuuming, no swimming, nothing strenuous, no sex, no baths, warm showers facing backwards to avoid water directly on tummy (no idea why!)...hmm, can't think of anything else right now. If inspiration hits, I'll drop you a line!

Take care of those embies, think of them bedding down over the next few days and making themselves comfy.

By the time I join you, you'll only have one week to go!
hugs,
Debra.

HI there
Not sure if any of it made any difference - but on my second 2 WW (which so far appears to have worked :) ) - i did and didn't do the following
Lay down for about 20 minutes after transfer (they went straight for a pee!)
NO exercise (really hard one for me as I do quite alot, 1st time round I started again in week 2)
No sex (same as 1st time)
Aspirin (" ")
Ate quite healthily (but not massively!) and no alcohol (Altho I think I had a glass in the middle!)
Stayed home - taking it very easy for 3 days - then went back to work as normal (I do quite a stressful mainly desk job)
Took a multivitamin including folic acid (last time I was on chinese tea - not sure it did much)
Still had baths
No swimming (but I really dont think that it would harm)
came on here ALOT!!
Slept quite alot
Was originally on 2 projesterone pessaries a day -started to get cramps on about day 5 - so upped to 3 a day (which I'm STILL on!!!!! )

By 2nd week I started to get really uncomfortable bloated feeling - really sore tummy -which was the ONLY symptom I had different to first time and is apparently the uterus changing shape.....

REALLY good luck - I think at the end of the day what will be will be - but I know that it important to feel that you are doing what you can to move the odds a bit! :)

Will be thinking of you

Hi Kel

WATER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very important!!

Be positive and spend 10 mins a day deep breathing and visualising the embies embedding. No hot baths and no alcohol and caffeine and keep calm.

Wishing you sooooooo much luck!

Girls,
Thanks so much for your replies!! Finding it very scarey!
Taking it very easy at the moment - probably go for a walk this week.
Caz, just wondered if you don't mind me asking, did your clinic tell you to go onto the 3 pessaries because of the cramping?

Thanks again,
From the still person! xx

HI Kel - sorry to take so long to get back - but the pessaries- yes -when I had what felt a bit like mild af pains they said up then to 3 - its basically doesn't do any harm (they said) and may have made a difference- of course its impossible to know. Still on 3 now though! Which I've decided to use as an EXCELLENT excuse for fat stomach and general hormonalness!
Hows it going??
Good luck!!

Hi Loopy! - Just to let you know I take 2 a day, but I have read other people on one and then the clinics tell them to stop after a week completely! Wish there was just one way of doing this IVF!!
If you were worried, maybe you could ask your clinic if it would make any difference?

Hi, just to say I'm only on one pessary, Crinone. What's sooooo stupid is after my m/c, I threw a newly opened box away! Ha, little did I think 3 months later I'd be on them again.

Kel. re. your Q about 2ww, whilst resting after ET today I grilled the chief nurse and she said with the exception of anything really stupidly active, all normal things can continue. She even said 'if you train everyday, you can train now, but don't start anything new. Do what your body is already used to'. Which for me means mercifully little!

She also told us a story of an American couple who had moved here for work, they'd had quite a few tmts in the US and were very doubtful about using a small, local clinic. They even complained that the clinic was too laid back and not 'clinical' enough, sure enough....++++! She is 42 so you can only imagaine how happy they are. That will be us in not too long Kel

hugs,
Debra.

Nice one Debra! So I guess we've got to leave it up to fate to be kind from now :D :D
Are you planning to do much though yourself?
I am not up to much at all so far, and DH has banned me from driving and removed the car!! That's fine as it's all so scarey to me this bit, and don't want to get stressed or road rage!! I've started making a top and buying loads of beads and bits of ebay to keep me amused a bit...
Hope you're feeling ok!
