Frozen Embryo Transfers

Post by marydemo »

Has anybody done a successful FROZEN EMBRYO TRANSFER?
I want to know their experience.

I know that doctors say that there are no increased birth defects or chromosomal abnormalities in babies born with frozen embryos - but I am very scared since I am worried about the long term effects of liquid nitrogen on the embryos.
If somebody has had a baby out of a frozen embryo transfer; I would really love to hear whether the baby is doing well, are there any issues, etc...

It is such an important topic and is stressing me out completely.

Poor you as if you don't have enough to stress about ! Try not to stress about this - they have not had enough to look at it properly but highly unlikely that liquid nitrogen has done anything.

I know loads of people on the other side who have had frozen babies and they are fine - recently Sarah had twins! I had an FET last year but our baby died at 20 weeks sadly - nothing to do with Frozen or not.
I am 34 wks pg with twins so don't know yet but please don't worry about that too as you will drive yourself crazy
Good luck

Hi Mary, try not to stress! There are lots of successful FET stories on the boards. You could try posting on the 'other side' eg. the pregnant after treatment board as most people on this side are still trying (although often people read all sides). There was a similar question posted recently. Lots of people replied, if you scroll down the page to the thread 'frozen cycle' although the question was slightly different, there were some answers from happily-pg from FET people.

Good luck and I hope this helps.
Debra.
