It is all very confusing at first. My clinic required that my DH and I attend a introductory IVF seminar prior to beginning treatment. Does your clinic have that sort of thing? In addition, there are many websites on the internet which do a good job of explaining things. Have you read the IVF informational sections on this board?
Don't worry or feel like you are dumb (you are not) as the whole IVF thing is such a minefield of different things to know. Like Staci said you will be taken through what happens and what you have to do by a doctor or nurse or at a get together run by your hospital or clinic.
I can remember my 1st treatment and I was really worried about whether I was doing the right things but you soon get the hang of it. I feel like I am a bit of an old hand now as I am my 4th TMT and I know too much for my liking.
All the girls on this website will have answers for you if you have any specific questions so please feel free to ask. You'd be amazed at some of the questions that do get asked but everyone will answer as best they can.
Best of luck and keep in touch.

i would say confusing, our clinic didn't tell us about any class or anything, all we had was a talk with the doctor and a nurse, which for a newbie like me was way to much info at one time. i have been looking at other posts and am kinda understanding things, but all these abbreviations are confusing

Our dream came true after 5 yrs ttc we know have 8month old twin boys Adam and Kieran and our gorgeous 9 yr old daughter.
Hang in there miracles really do happen
I have to confess that I tried to read this board before my IVF and just could not understand A WORD of it! After my IVF failed I came back on and it started to make sense, having gone through it once. Then I was so glad it was here! I wish I had stuck with it the first time, as the support would have been very helpful.
Welcome to the list!
