Hi Juliette,
Leanne here, ( still fairly new to this site)
I am in a similar position to you. I am moving to Hampshire soon and will also be looking for a good clininc. I will also consider London and Bournemouth like the other lady mentioned.
Briefly, my history is, I have had 1 fresh egg transfer and 2 frozen, all negative. So I need a clinic that will do more tests into my immune system etc. I am also looking for a clinic that will do the Blastocyst Transfer method.
I am also keen to keep costs down and have been looking into egg sharing. I have looked on a few hospital web sites and many do this. The details vary slightly, some will only charge for the drugs ( Belfast charge for drugs = £800 ish, Warwickshire = £300) I have heard that there is a clinic in the Worcestershire area that do it free with egg sharing??? I know they are all out of London but it is just to give you an idea of the savings that can be made.
I spoke to my local hospital at the moment and they told me that to egg share.... There are a lot of tests to undergo, me and my husband will need counselling before we agree to it and after 1st April this year the law changes so that a child born form an egg donor / share, from their 18th Birthday they can legally contact the hospital etc to find out about the mother. These are amongst the issues you will need to consider. However, good news, there is no waiting list because couples are crying out for eggs and you also get the great feeling of helping somebody else.
I have been in touch with another member on this site and she has suggested the ARG, I am not sure where it is but I believe it to be in the London region. I am going to look it up on the net.
I would like to stay in touch with your findings if that is ok and I will let you know mine. London will have so much to offer, others knowledge is essential.
Good luck with all,
Leanne
