Hello Ladies,
Well, my scan yesterday didn’t reveal any eggs present, so my doctor told me that it would be better to cancel this cycle, and wait until I get my menstural cycle, in the next few weeks. Then he will take a blood test for FSH, Estradiol, and Progestron, to see their levels in order to devise the next treatment. Although he had checked my FSH levels – which were of normal level - before I began the treatment. In my next treatment, he will consider changing the medication and method (not down regulation per say).
I failed to mention, that in the beginning, I was started with taking Synarela for a week first, then Gonal 225 units for a week. I went in for a scan after that, and there were no signs of anything happening, so my doctor decided to increase the dosage of Gonal to 375 units, then the second scan showed no improvements either, so that’s why the cycle was canceled.
In one way, I’m glad that I am not on Gonal anymore – the side effects were terrible! - The hot flashes drove me nuts, constant stomach upsets, and annoying itching spells (espec. in public). As for Synarela however, I sneezed for a good 5 – 10 min intervals shortly after taking it, and experienced dizzy spells from time to time.
My husband and I were disappointed, because we have invested a lot of emotional effort and hope. Maybe we were too optimists and didn’t take anticipate bumps on the way. The good thing is that I still have 2 attempts, and may be we could be lucky and succeed.
Now I have to sit back and just think positive.
Thanks a million to all of you,
Kenzie (my real name)
