New to IVF - down regulation duration on burselin injection?

Post by ifyodims »

Hi, I started long protocol IVF using burselin injections for down regulation on 8 March 2006. I was most disappointed to be told after 13 days (20 March) of being on the injection that my womb lining is still not thin. What is the longest time it has taken for any of you to achieve down regulation? Been told to come back on 25 March to check again. What if by then down regulation has still not been achieved? Does this mean my IVF cycle/treatment will be cancelled? Any help at all on the subject will be much appreciated as this is my first time.

I know everyone's situation and treatment is different. My experience was - I started DR on 2/25, then stimms on 3/18 - so my DR period was 3 weeks. From what I have read - that is the case with most women.

I know this process can really try your patience but hang in there - you will get there!

Hi,

I'm on the same injection - I started injecting on 14th March and will go for my scan on 28th (2 weeks later). We are assuming that I will have downregged successfully in that time.......I wonder if the dosage that they prescribe is different for each person and therefore it takes a different amount of time for each person??

Hi,

When I did my first IVF cycle I down reg with Buserelin at 0.5ml per shot. It took 20 days to thin out the lining before I stimmed with Fostimon and then they reduced the buserelin to 0.25ml.

With my first cycle i was down regulating for about 6 weeks in total, my womb lining was just not thin enough. i was then given tablets to bring on another af, which done the trick and i could then move onto stimms.

all the best

Hi,

For info - my injection is 0.3ml per shot - as I said before its for 2 weeks, then I start stimming and continue with the Buserelin at the same dose until EC.

Hi

I am on Buserlin also - long protocol so I started on day 2 of my cycle. 0.5 per day. Have been on it since 25 March. They told me a minimum of 2 weeks but have booked scan for Day 18. They did warn me that at that point I could be ready for stimmies but that it could also take another week before ready.

Read somewhere that if you try injecting in tummy rather than thigh that sometimes the drug absorption is better. Have done 8 days in thigh so giving leg a rest and going to inject in my tummy for next few days. Anythinh is worth a try

Frustrating but sure it will be worth it in the end. :D

Best of Luck.
