Hi Lovely Ladies,

thank you so much for my countdown thread it is lovely to know you thought about me. thanks Smita for your Pm, you are so kind and thoughful, hope you and your babe are well.

I have been in hospital for over a month, 2 weeks before having Jess and just over 2 weeks after. My b.p started going up, so i was monitored daily until my vision started going and then they decided to induce me on the 23rd Oct when i was 37 weeks. I ended up having a special drugs regime, so as not to fit during labour, if my b.p continued to rise, so in all very eventful and an experience i would not like to repeat.

Jessica was born at 9-55pm on the 23rd October weighing 7lb 12 3/4, a great weight considering she was 3 weeks early, but she did have 2 lots of steroids, so they may of helped a little. Jess ended up in special care as she caught the strep b infection even though i was given antibiotics in labour, it was so scarey as she turned blue after coming up to the ward with me, luckily enough a midwife hauled her out of the cot to clear her nose and throat, once given antibiotics she was fine.

So now we are home and i must say it feels mad, i cannot believe that i was partly responsible for creating her. DH is absolutely besotted with her and will be keeping the photo shop in business for a good while.

Wll definately be logging on over the next few days to catch up with everyone and their news, even though i have not been able to access the board i have been thinking about you all.

Sue - I am so happy for you! She sounds delightful, and can't wait to see pics of her....make sure you put some in the photo bucket.

I'm sorry that you had an ordeal, but what a happy ending! Congratulations to you and DH.

Congrats! So scarey, to have bp issues. Glad to hear that things seem to be resolving themselves though. Mine really cleared up when the weight started coming off.

Good luck with your new babe at home! And take tons of pics, they only stay small for a short time.

Congratulations, Sue! It's so good to finally hear from you. I figured you were in the hospital and was hoping for the best. Sorry to hear you had such an ordeal and long stay at the hospital. So glad to hear you are home now and ready to start motherhood. Have fun with Jessica and give her lots of love from us.

I can't believe how many new babys there are now, its so fab. Jessica certainly seems massive to your little one justine, you must be so proud.

As soon as DH is free i will get him to put some photos on the poto bucket of jess.

Thanks again everyone for your support and friendship over the last few months, i can honestly say you all helped to keep me sane (well nearly!!!) and i don't think i could of managed without the input given on these boards, what a truly amazing bunch of people.

It still hasn't really sunk in that i am now a mum, it all seems a blur, everytime i look at her little face i am astonished that she grew inside of me.

Belated congratulations and big hugs to you on the birth of Jessica! Your not only "partly reponsable for her", but think of everything you have overcome to have her here! You must be so glad to be home, the last stages of pregnancy and birth sound like they were very trying.

Looking forward to staying in touch, am heading back off to the photo bucket now to find a pic of her!!
