I just went through IVF for the 5th time, still no success. My DH and I just don't know what to do. I'm almost 33, he's 30. We've been married over 6 years and TTC for all of that with the last 2 1/2 years being IVF. Our dilemma is IVF if paid for by my insurance, so for each cycle we maybe have to ...

Marynaz, I think what you are feeling is just a natural part of the grieving process... and really that is what this is. For some of us, IVF is the first time we know everything came together and worked. We can see it, physically by seeing the pictures of those embryos. No wondering if the timing ...

It is funny how going through this changes your priorities. I am an only child to... and although I don't think it was so bad, now that I am older i realize how nice it would be to have siblings that I could rely on to deal with parents, for holidays, etc. My husband was always set on us having 2 ...

I don't think you are wrong to feel something about the whole situation. I do sympathize with you.

I am 32 and my husband 29. About 3 1/2 yrs ago his half-sister announces to us she is pregnant... at 17. Talk about being upset (me not her). Upset that a spoiled brat could get pregnant while on ...

I had my beta on Sat and was upset because I had never gotten a call from my dr office to give me the results. I had called the outside lab last week to ask if coming in on Sat AM would be a problem and getting the result faxed to my clinic ASAP that day and they said it would be fine. I tried to be ...

My doctor called me personally today. Apparently the lab lied to me in saying they faxed the results on Sat because my clinic just received them at 9 something this AM via fax. Ticks me off because I specifically called the lab last week to ask if it was going to be a problem to come in on Sat and ...

I am sorry but I can not recommend Univ of Iowa's clinic at all. For one, there is no individualized treatment at all... everything is a numbers game and not individual to your situation. I guess if you like that then it is ok.
You are more than welcome to look at some of the problems I have had ...

No, my clinic definitely calls with the levels. This is not my first cycle with them... and they would have had to tell me yes or no to go for another blood draw. it does not matter as I called the lab that drew my blood and got them to give me the results. I have already left a VM at the clinic ...

Emfossum, I am so glad that your beta is growing. I hope you end up being the "posterchild" for low first betas.
My beta was yesterday but I never got a call. I suppose that isn't a good sign. I am sure it is negative and I have to say I gave up days ago... so it has not been so bad the last few ...

Birdie... in answer to your question... I don't know. I don't know how anyone finds the strength to continue trying, especially 7-8 times. I don't know how I have had the strength to do it 4 times. I think as long as there is hope that it could work you want to keep trying though.

My husband and I ...

I don't know if my situation would count at all but thought it worth mentioning. My 3rd cycle was last Dec and at our company year end party they had a hypnotist and I volunteered with some of my co-workers. At the end he said "you can do anything that you put your mind to. Think of that now and it ...

Marynaz,
I do know how you feel. When I was going through my 3rd time of IVF I wondered if it would ever happen. I got a BFP then... but had a m/c the next month. My dr said to me that had I not had a BFP after three times they would have started wondering if there was another problem too... etc. I ...

My cycle last winter was twins; however, when I began bleeding early on it was still too early to tell what all was going on even with an hcg # over 1000. My numbers stopped climbing as fast as they had (sometimes the faster they climb they can tell it might be multiples... but even that is not an ...

I'm so sorry. I know that it is hard when your spouse doesn't see eye to eye with you. I can't complain about my husband... but there again we have insurance that covers it so I don't know how it would be if we didn't. Possibly like your story.
He flip flops though on whether he would be ok with no ...
