Small gestational sac

Hello!

Had my second u/s yesterday (6 weeks pregnant) and the good news is that the embryo more than doubled in size. The not so good news is that the sac is 2 mm shy of where it should be (a bit small) and the heart rate was 98 (still).

Doctor said to remain positive - that anything can happen ...

Not ectopic

Thanks Esperenza -

I am a nervous wreck. I am trying not be stressed about this but it's so hard. I think I need to pick up a good book or something to make me stop surfing the net every night. In any event, I don't think the stress is good for the embryo.

Between the low rising HCGs and now one ...

Not ectopic but ...

U/S today confirmed that I do not have an ectopic pregnancy - rather, they saw a sac, an embryo and a yolk sac. :)

Big relief! I stressed all weekend about this because doctor's office was worried.

My little bean's heart was even beating - 98 bpm. Physician assistant said that if I were 6 weeks ...

Had another level this morning and it was 1085.

Doc would have liked to see it double by now so they want to rule out an ectopic. Said it could still be Ok but they are concerned. So, I am having an ultrasound Monday morning. They do not expect to see a hearbeat (because it's too early ...

Slow rising HCG

Thanks Kbat
Are you going through a cycle now?
I know you said your numbers were much lower in a previous cycle - were they increasing much at all? DH and I just mapped our BETAs and compared it against a doubling BETA and a 60% increase. Graphically it's much easier to read and see the differences

Update

Got my BETA test back today - only 605. Doc wanted to see 700.
Next BETA is this Friday. DH is hopeful but I am not (even though I feel pregnant). I am getting tired of not knowing - I wish my level were higher so I could get an ultrasound and know for sure

Slow Rising HCG

Thanks Leslie for your support and encouragement.
It's nice to know that I am not alone.
Yes, I am also tired of surfing the web - reading articles and message boards about slow risers is making me crazy ... I have to stop
I will be thinking of you as well
Good luck!

Update

Hi Everyone,
Had my follow up beta today and level was not as high as would have liked. Specifically, HCG was 605 as opposed to 700.
Follow up level again this Friday - DH is hopeful but I am not sure.
It's horrible, actually, because I feel really pregnant. But I know that is irrelevant ...

re: Transfer

Hi Esperanza,
My HCG level went back up to 177.9 so now we are hopeful and waiting for the next level (which is this Monday). It could go either way (according to Doc) - it may have implanted late or it could be a blighted ovum.
In any event, I am just hoping that if it implanted late, that it is ...

RE: Slow Rising HCG Info

Hello Ladies!
I spoke with my doc today and received some interesting information. Apparently, because my progesterone level is "strong" he is not concerned about ectopic (I idid not know that there was a connection). Also indicated that in my case, it could really go either way - I could have a ...

RE: Transfer this morning

Sounds like your cycle went really well!
I am 41 and my husband is 46. Of the 18 mature eggs retrieved, 12 fertilized but only 1 made it to transfer day - so your situation sounds promising.
Only with that 1 embryo (a 5 cell) I am pregnant. :)
We have had some scary moments with my HCG levels but ...
