varicocele repair

Hi All,
I have not posted something here in quite a long time, but my husband had a varicocele repair done 3 months ago and is still experiencing pain and discomfort since the surgery. We were told he would be able to return to normal activities and should be feeling well in 7-10 days, but here we ...

Natural Cycle IVF GHOST or anyone

Does anyone have anything insightful to share about Natural Cycle IVF?

I am in limbo waiting until I can get on my husband's insurance policy... next year... A clinic nearby offers Natural Cycle IVF at 25% the cost of a regular IVF cycle which we may pursue in the meantime.

many thanks,

Re: Coculture: anyone familiar with the procedure? Ghost?

Never heard of it, but the link posted is interesting. I have done some research on Cornell, who does a biopsy of the endo. lining prior to retrieval and uses that to grow embryos.

Good luck to you Margi!

Re: Am I the only one that feels this way???

momwantobe-
It is hard to understand why all of this happens... My husband and I have had three failed IVF cycles and my doctor has recommended discontinuing treatment unless we want to use DE b/c we will likely continue to see the same the results. I don't think that any of of us will ever make ...

Re: Ghost : Fragmentation

Follicles were measuring 18 to 20... and I did take BCP all three cycles.

What would be other possible protocols to ask about?

Re: Ghost : Fragmentation

Hi Ghost,
My doctor also says she is surprised by my egg quality due to my age and that I am a non-smoker. Lab reports show my eggs are slightly darker in color. Doctor says that I am likely just genetically pre-disposed with poor egg quality. Here are the basics for cycle 1 & 2 and more details for ...

Ghost : Fragmentation

HI Ghost,
I just had my 3rd unsuccessful IVF cycle. In each cycle I have always had between 29 - 16 eggs retrieved, there has been significant fragmentation in our embryos, but we have always had 2-3 high quality embryos to transfer on day 3. However, after day three the remaining embryos pretty ...

Re: BFN Group

To-have-fun- Thanks for all of your openness. The adoption process does seem a bit overwhelming... As you said it does seem crazy that so much of your private life has to be disclosed to adopt, yet any random person can just have kids, but I guess God just has a funny sense of humor. I am wishing ...

layers- Sorry to hear about your BFN. My cycle was negative and was my last cycle covered by insurance as well. Thinking of you and wishing well.

Re: BFN Group

Heidi- Thanks and good luck to you. We are planning a trip to London and Ireland this spring. It cannot get here fast enough.

To-have-fun-
Wow, it sounds like they were matched fairly quickly. It seems that if a couple is willing to adopt a child of any race the process moves along a lot faster ...

Re: BFN Group

To-have-fun- I live in Maryland. So I am guessing a TX is a little far. Do you know if she is doing a closed or open adoption? Also, how long did the process take for her.

many thanks for all of your help!

Re: BFN Group

Thanks for all the well wishes and thoughts. We are now looking into adoption... and planning a kick ass vacation!

Sunshine - Thanks for you optimism. I'm not really sure what other treatment options the doctor will suggest other than donor eggs, which is just not for us.

Margi- my insurance only ...

Re: BFN Group

Well here I am again...

This was our last cycle covered by insurance, so my fertility treatments likely end here and my posts for the time being.

Wishing all of you the very best,
