Thank you so much for your information and insight! It was quite helpful. We have a lot more thinking to do, but I'm beginning to think a second opinion may be in order.

Thanks again! :)

Questions about Labs

I have a couple of questions about IVF prelim labs. You see, I had a cancelled IVF in October due to poor/no stimulation. This was a bit of a shock to everyone because up to this point the labs were all pointing to male fertility issues.

Now, it seems there might be an issue with me, too. Here's ...

Thanks, kbat, for the information about FSH. Believe it or not, we have no idea what mine is. Because my HSG, pre-IVF bloodwork, and hysteroscopy were perfectly fine and having an earlier u/s showing natural follicle growth, they didn't do a FSH test.

As for the hubby aspect. I SO know what you ...

Cindy: I am so very sorry to hear this. *hugs* I wish you the very best in your adoption plans!

Kbat: Sounds like things are moving along for you. I'll cross my fingers that you don't get stuck at the clinic on Friday! Good luck with everything.

I had my visit on Friday with my RE. We all seem ...

Hi, alittlegrace! :)

Yes, I'm the one that I said I was on BC for 3 months and I also used Lupron during the cancelled IVF. I asked my RE about it yesterday and he said the amounts of Gonal F that I was taking should have overridden any lingering BC effects, etc. :?: So, after feeling that maybe ...

Need more information about E2 levels...

I started my first IVF cycle in mid-October. My DH and I were having the IVF due to male infertility factor. Thus, we would have an IVF with ICSI. I had had several tests and procedures along the way and was believed to be ok.

Well, we started the IVF cycle and I started the stimulation medicine ...

Thanks so much everyone. I think after talking more to the IVF nurse this morning (she was a total doll and talked as long as I needed) we've decided to wait until the beginning of next year.

I'm a very "why" kind of person and everyone pretty much feels that for my own benefit, I need to stop and ...

Thank you...to all of you...for your kind words. They mean so very much to me. This has been a very rough day. I pretty much cried all the way home from the u/s this morning. I just knew that things weren't right.

Not to keep dragging out my negative news, but I have been offered two options and I ...

Grace35: Lots of postive thinking for you!!! I hope everything is ok.

Stephanie: I felt awful on just the Lupron. I was absolutely exhausted and I'd have awful hot flashes.

Well, my IVf is over, just as I expected. I wasn't stimulating at all despite taking 450 units of Gonal F. My E2 levels ...

Kbat: We've talked to someone different every time. Although, we have now been apparently put in an "urgent" classification and were told to expect some formal answers in 72 hours (business). *shrug* You're right- it is what it is. :) I, too, don't like surprises, but I can't really change anything ...

This morning's call did not go as hoped. I'm in such a quandry. I've had 75% of my insurance CS people tell me that we are 100% covered on certain aspects of the IVF- regardless that it's for an IVF. Another 25% assure me that I am not covered. With new information this morning, I would guess that ...

I think I read somewhere that yams and/or sweet potatoes are good for ovarian health and fertility.

Okay, a quick search found this:

It's the sixth article on the page, so be sure to scroll down a bit! Hope this helps! :)

To Grace35: Thanks for sharing your experience. I was pretty upset yesterday morning/yesterday afternoon. I guess now I'll just have to sit back and wait for Wednesday to be a lot better. :)

Kbat: Well, that's good about the emotions (I think). Because this is making me feel...restless. I'm crying ...

Kbat: Yep, that's pretty much what they said. Although, I got really upset with my husband because he took the call and didn't give me the phone. I mean, I know he wants to be involved and he's trying to help, but sometimes, I just need to talk to the IVF nurse to allay my fears. I wonder if it's ...
