Hi all

Lisa - I was so sorry to see your post - as Diane says, take some time to grieve with DH - time is a great healer. Maybe when you feel ready the clinic can give you some answers, maybe this happening will mean they will have more insight into what has caused you to lose your pregnancies before and can do something about it next time round.

Randa - well done on having your 3 little ones put back. Someone on here once said they were told it was like trying to shake a pea out of a pot of honey, they can't fall out

Anna - Life on Mars is excellent - I love Gene !!

Only a few days 'til my holidays now - can't wait - need some sunshine....

Hi to everyone else & lots of love
Kat xx
Me & DH both 41
ICSI #1 - abandoned
#2 - cancelled - DH accident
#3 - 1 transferred, bfn
#4 - 2 transferred, bfn
#5 - abandoned
#6 - no eggs at EC
#7 - DE in Barcelona - bfp but lost Dec'05
#8 - DE UK - bfn
#9 - FET Sept/Oct '07....

Hi girls,

Lisa, my heart sank when I read your post. Sending love and hugs to you and DH. You have been through so much. As said before, take some time to grieve and maybe in time you will be able to look at what to do next. Take care honey.

Randa, rooting for your 3 embies. Take it easy on your 2 ww!

Kat, reckon we can all do with some sunshine - expecially us Brits! When do you go?

I hope you find some time and peace to think.

Lisa, sorry honey, what a dark day. There's a doctor in New York who specialises in managing recurrent miscarriage cases - a friend gave me an article about him that was in the Times. Let me know if you're interested I'll try to dig it out. With me I've had two, and I'm terrified of going again in case it happens again. I think it's much worse to get pg then lose it than not to get pg at all, much much worse. It's incredibly painful, and your body is all geared up to expect something and is crushed when it doesn't happen. I really feel for you and, when you've had some time out to try and recover a bit, I hope you feel up to looking into why it's happening and taking a different approach with medical help. Because you're only 40, you've still got some time. Lot of love, Lara x

Lisa, I'm so so sorry to hear your news. Life just seems so unfair sometimes. I agree with Lara, it is worse to get pregnant and have it snatched away than to never get there at all. You're wise to take some time out to grieve and heal. Don't make any big decisions for a while about what you do next. If you do decide to carry on, I know people who have gone on to have babies after recurrent miscarriage after having their hair analysed for vitamin deficiencies and taking massive amounts of supplements. My cranial osteopath also said that there is a particular point on the spine which can be associated with m/c if it's out. So there are things you could try further down the line if you want to. But right now, take some time out and be good to yourself.

Randa, I'm so pleased you got to ET at last. Sending you masses of embedding vibes. I hope the 2ww is as bearable as it can be. BTW although the clinic seems to say "just get on with your life", the mighty Zita advocates taking it fairly easy. I'm going to do 3 days lying down and then will try to avoid: lifting, gardening, sitting in one position for too long (which will be hell as it will drag me away from my beloved pc) and anything too strenuous. Not doing yoga, except for some lying down postures. I will try to walk a bit every day though.

Big J, I hope the nuchal scan goes well today. It's so exciting to hear news from the other side!

Anna & Jeni - any sign of AF yet? Jeni (particularly) you must be going a bit nuts by now!

Bev, your bedside light stories are wonderful. I have found myself thinking of my Mum more and more these last few days. I can hear her voice, see her face. I got quite upset about the start of the 6 nations rugby championships, which I'm not remotely interested in but she loved it and used to get worked up when Wales lost. On Saturday, when Wales lost, I could hear her getting all lathered up about it. It used to annoy me when she was hear but I'd give anything to hear her talking about it now.

Kat, you must be getting excited about Singapore. Lovely to have something like that to look forward to, especially the chance to see your sister.

Well, I had my LH surge last night, so ET is on Thursday, assuming the frosties survive. DH has just made me work through probability theory to get to a point where I've realised that if each embie has a 50% chance of survival, then (as we have 2 embies) we actually have a 75% chance of getting at least one, not a 50% chance as I first thought. I can work through this if anyone is interested, but I'm guessing not! Anyway, it has cheered me up no end to think that probably there will be something to transfer. Feel a bit weird now that it's all actually happening, but a little bit excited too.

I've updated the list (and taken the liberty of changing Lisa's entry as I'm sure it's the last thing on her mind).
love Caroline

Hello Ladies:

Lisa: I'm so sorry to hear your news. Life is not fair.

Randa: Good luck on the 2ww. If you keep busy, it will go by before you know it.

Caroline: Good luck with the ET on Thursday.

BigJ: Good luck on your scan today.

I have the SIS (Saline Infusion Sonography) on Thursday. This is the test to see if I have any polyps in the uterine cavity. We will use this information to decide if we want to do IVF #2. On the adoption front, DH and I met with our social worker yesterday, for the first time. You won't believe all of the information they want! We have to write autobiographies........yuck! I hate to write about myself. Oh well, it will be worth it in the end. We are hoping to have our paperwork in beginning of April. If this happens, we could get our referral in December and then our baby in Feb. 2007.

Take care all,
Tammy

Caroline, glad you've got your ET date, all the best of luck for Thursday. Very interested to hear your statistical assessment of the embryo survival situation - as a lapsed mathematician it made me smile. You're very brave, I know how nail-biting the whole thing is.

Lisa, hope you're still around and feeling up to reading messages. My thoughts are very much with you at this nightmare time.

Randa, fabulous result with the transfer, all the very best of luck.

Jules, hope the nuchal went really well.

Anna, how's it going - any sign? I have to decide whether I feel well enough to go this month or wait another month. Last time I rushed into it because I could feel the clock ticking and I was so run down after the last miscarriage I only got two decent follicles, so I don't want to make the same mistake. But I'm 44 next week - and, as Professor Craft reminded me on the phone this morning, the chances of IVF working at my age are more or less zero. He said he wouldn't advise anyone of my age to even try - but to use donor eggs. That filled me with depression for the day! Thanks a lot!

Cheers everyone,

Lara

Hi ladies

Lara - what a bu**er even if the stats are true, they are skewed by so many different factors that it's only relevant for you as an indiviadual if they can say can say if YOU have a chance or not...poop to them and good luck to you my dear. Just make sure you prep yourself with vits and omega 3 oils as much as poss and gte fit and look at Randa she's off!! You can try donor eggs later - don't give up when there's hope my dear

Tammy - good luck with your SIS, will be thinking of you

Caro- also you Thursday for ET will be in my thoughts and I pray for your little embies that they come out fighting fit

Anna still jigging for you although it makes me want to pee

Randa - getting implantation cramps yet??????

Hugs and kisses to all of you

Nuchal went well, OMG what a lot of detail we saw, and sweetie was boogying away waving and jiggling around, had to cought to try and get her in the right position but then she squirmed so I laughed and it went on like that for half an hour til I had tears rolling down my face. What an emotional thing, but ladies, have hope, that will be you, and soon. We get official stats next week combined with bloods, but gynae said everything looked fantastic and all measurements were well within norm excpet that sweetie is showing 13+4 instead of 12+6 which is the offical ICSI date so she reckonms placenta and Zita vitamins are doing the trick 8) Do tell me girls if it's upsetting for you to have me post like that on here, I hope it motivates you, and I need you too, but I understand if for some it's just toomuch...please say

I love you all and you are all in my prayers

big hugs
