Is anyone else living in Essex, that has had IVF tmt privately, if so how much did the tmt cost and how much extra was for the drugs? and what clinic did you attend please?

Sorry I don't live in Essex, but have had IVF privately. It cost me £2,100 for the cycle and £900.00 for the drugs. So £3,000.
This next cycle will be my third, so it gets VERY expensive..!

2nd IVF - Nov 05 - +ve - m/c at 8.5 weeks

I live in Essex and have had one IVF cycle, although it was on the NHS. However it didn't work and we now have to pay for anymore tmts. We've just had an unmedicated FET which has cost us £450. The clinic we are at is Barts which obviously does private as well as NHS tmts. Initially we got refered there through our doctor but we've decided to stay with them as they know our history. I think for IVF it was around £2200 but drugs are extra. If you want more info I can probably dig some out. There's also Holly House which is a private clinic - they have a web site if you want to look with all the prices on there.

I'm from the North, but clinic prices seem to vary so much wherever you are. My latest ICSI cycle was £3700 (including tests, but not including the medi). Again, re the medi, it depends what protocol you'll be on. You can probably reckon on between £1-2.5K for meds.

My wife had IVF done at Holly House in Buckhurst Hill and that was about £3500 all inc. However egg freezing was £400 and what was a p**s take was they suggested that we let the eggs develop in the dish and try and push for Blastocysts. Despite the risk we agreed and the eggs stayed in the dish for an extra 2 days of which 8 turned to Blastocyst. We then recieved an invoice for an extra £500 for "Blastocyst Culturing' To make a long story short we paid £3500 but it can go up an extra £900.
Incidentally the NHS is Essex has just started to allocate IVF funding for 2006 have you tried speaking with Colchester and getting NHS funding?
