Hi Girls,

I know what you mean about those awful pee sticks - I had to look really carefully to check!! Test date is the 16th, although I am abit confused about it. As I've had a natural cycle surely AF should be due as normal? However, the test date is for 4 days afterwards - why is this? Perhaps I'm just being thick, but I just don't seem to get it!! :?

Caroline - hows the testing going? Any sign of the surge?!! Having ET on Thursday for me made life much easier as I could then have the Friday off as well (without feeling too guilty) and also have the weekend to rest.

Tracii - all the best for your ultrasound and bloods - keep the PMA going!

Anticipated Follistem Date, Feb 11th

My husband and I are starting our 2nd Cycle. We found out just before Christmas that our first cycle failed. We are a little older (I will be turning 40 this year.) I have given up all caffeine, including chocolate, and have started taking acupuncture.

Unfortunately, our first time through, my uterine lining was only borderline. Going in, they had hoped to implant many more embryos. I had 10 fertilized embryos. However, the results of the PGD only showed 2 that were normal. I cried through the entire procedure. Needless to say....

Good luck with your 2nd cycle Michelle. Go into it with a positive mind - no 2 cycles are alike.

Lots and lots of luck

Michelle - Sandra is very right in saying no 2 cycles are alike...and you have really made some huge, positive changes to your lifestyle - so I am sure you will see a BFP :D

How is everyone else holding out?

I just got back from the clinic from u/s and blood tests...passed the u/s and just waiting for the bloods. I made sure to remind them to make sure my LH was completely under control. Although I am sure it is..I have been downregging for 17 days now at double the dose from last time....also last time I only downregged 8 days prior to starting stims...so I should be good to go :D If I get the thumbs up to start stimming - I will start tomorrow AM.

We are also having a snow storm today...I am thinking of it positively....I am being sent lots of baby dust!! :D :D

Yippeee!! Shots start tomorrow...crazy aren't we to be looking forward to giving ourselves injections  My hormones are looking really good (FSH=4.56 and e2=14.9). My clinic has a portal so I can just log-in to check everything out...it is great. Next milestone is u/s and blood test 7 days from starting injections....lots of time to visualize happy and healthy eggs!!

You clever girl Traci, that's great news. I like the idea of being able to log on to see your results - that's real techno. 4.56 FSH is excellent. Now - let's concentrate on those follies growing over the next few days ... plenty of pma :D

Traci,

Good on you. What a fantastic FSH. Mine was 7.8 this month and I am a bit nervous as a result. Last time it was 5.8 which is good. I am onmy 6th day of stimming and desperate for it to be over. My scan is Thursday so I'm really hoping for +10 follies. Last 2 times I had nothing to freeze.

Good luck everyone else too. Heaps of babydust coming your way.

Hi all

Kate, I don't understand the whole test date thing either. I assumed that because the embies are 3+ days old, you could knock 3 days off the 2ww. I haven't been told yet when I should test, so I'll compare notes when I get that far. Hope you're doing ok so far. Last time I found the first week was the easiest, as I wasn't really expecting to bleed at that stage, so I could relax a bit.

Welcome to both Michelles and Melissa. Mbelle Michelle, you might want to come and join us on the over 40s thread (ok you're not quite there, I know) but there are some great women on there and it can be nice to know that you're not alone as an older woman. Melissa, I hope your class goes well tomorrow and you get some of your questions answered. I found, when I started this whole thing, that you need to slowly digest info. It's too much to take in all at once but eventually you'll be an expert.

Allison, hope you're feeling better now. And remember when those baby programmes come on - there is an off switch!

Jen, glad to hear you've got a start date. Not too long to go now!

Tracii, yeah it's weird to be excited about giving yourself injections, but what is there about IVF that isn't weird, eh? I'm really impressed that you can look up your results on line. That's really hi tech.

Sue e - any clearer about when you're doing FET? Have you started ovulation testing yet?

Lisa, hope the scan goes well on Thurs. Any idea when EC might be?

I had my LH surge yesterday, so FET is going to be on Thursday, assuming at least one of my 2 frosties survives. I can't believe it's finally happening as it's been ages since my last IVF and so much has happened in between, like losing my Mum. Starting to feel nervous and a bit excited too...

 Need some advice girls

I work for the local council and they have offered me 6 free treatments of either acupuncture or reflexology. I know that acupuncture is better for you when doing ivf but am a wimp when it comes to the needles. Is it sore, what does it feel like and i read its best to start when you begin the stimming, is this true? Also do you think i should take all 6 of one treatment or 3 of each?
Thanks for your help. Am away to start my medi on 26th Feb so would appreciate any advice.

Michelle - What date do you start your 2nd cycle, we might be cycling together?

Caroline - Good luck with your FET on thursday.

Tracii - Good luck with the lovely injections.

Jen

I've had acupuncture. It does hurt a little bit, but they say if it does that's a good sign! Go for it, be brave! You've been brave in everything else to get to this stage, you can do it!

Please can I join the Feb/March testers. I have just had my Hycosy, my tubes are clear (phew!) and so I've a pack of Clomid in my bag, ready to start IUI when AF arrives in a week or so. So in theory should be testing mid March.

Good luck to all. It's going to be an exciting few weeks!

Caroline - good luck with the FET on Thursday. Must be a lucky day as I had mine a week ago on Thursday! I'll keep everything crossed for those two frosties to defrost and be healthy :D Let me know about your wait, as I'll be about to go into the second week and that its the worst!

Jen - I've been having accupuncture since my BFN and I've found it really helps. All my PMT symptoms have disappeared and the spotting before the full AF, plus its a great way to relax!! The needles really don't hurt at all, the only time I find it a little uncomfortable is when I try and move and I have needles in near my wrists!! Go for it, you don'y want to think "what if..." a few mths later and wish you'd done it. I would go with the accu over reflexology having ahd both.

Tracii - excellent news about starting the shots.

Good luck to everyone else :D

Caroline - Good luck with your FET really hoping feb is your month. you can do it.

I start my LH testing tomorrow, day 11, praying that its not here, bit nervous really. But on the other hand it could be very close to my FET :D I have got 3 little frosties, so like you hoping they thaw well.

All the best
